So, did anyone get a personal update that their notebook was sent out today?
-
-
Nope...sigh
Tim -
Well if they shipped today, then you would know tomorrow. I'm hoping to get that e-mail tomorrow.
-
Hoping for that email tomorrow as well!

I was told I would be in the second shipment.. And I ordered mid-june.. like the 16th or something..
Bummer.. -
if the second shipment ever comes...
-
IMO a company has no right to talk about a second shipment or ETAs of such a shipment when they have no visiibility concerning the shipment. That is, they need a tracking number or some other hard communication or else any talk of a second shipment is uninformative and might cause some of us who need a computer for work to hang on too long thinking that your computer will really arrive "next week."
We should define terms. When a computer XYZ is "shipping" it better be in stock. If it is not in stock, then the reseller needs hard info on when the stock will arrive (hard info is something like a tracking number or a prior pattern of a regular shipment schedule).
Certain communications from resellers regarding the IFL90 do no meet any of these criteria. Given what we know, the status of the IFL90 should be "not shipping" with no ETA. -
Just got my shipping notification! It should be here tomorrow. Man, its been a long wait time.
I'll have to update my signature -
Yep, got my shipping notice too from PNB.
It's gonna be here on Friday. For those still trying to read the auspices, I ordered a Sager WSXGA+ from PNB on June 28th.
-
On June 28th or May 28th? I ordered mine June 1 - I'd expect a lot of orders between you and me.
-
June 28th.
-
Unfortunatley I still have not recieved anything but "until a tracking number is ready then we will know" sort of thing.
I was told my order was in the last day of may.
Everything I hear now Im going to take with a grain of salt. I should of gone with the inspiron 1520 and saved myself time and money with that $300 dell coupon which probably expired now -
wow it was in last day of may, yet u dont have it??? woah
-
Just got a tracking number for mine. It's coming in Friday. Ordered from PNB June 30th.
-
And coincidentally I also got my shipping notice too from PNB. -
Another may order for the PowerPro 10:15 wsxga+ matte (may 29th, in fact), with no updates. Trying really hard not to be completely pissed off.
-
That's because this shipment was only for the Sager NP2090s.
You should call and see what the status is of PNB getting their IFL-90 whitebooks any time soon. -
-
The battery does not come charged correct? How long would you say I should charge it for when I first get it before I use it (I'm very excited to install windows and test it out/write a review).

Tim
BTW I just noticed we are both from MN. -
moderators: yes this is sour-grapes, feel free to delete... just venting a bit.
I guess my presumption was that since I got email from Ron on may 29th confirming my order for the IFL90, was that I was in line. I got an email from Jane that my credit card was billed on June 4th, and I'm guessing that was when my order actually went into the queue.
I'm especially annoyed, because I told them more than once that I absolutely needed this before August, but was lead to believe that it really was coming, and that I was in the 'very few laptops' that came the other week, so I kept holding out for it. -
Did you call them to find out? Donald led us to believe that those who were promised a shipment Friday or Monday would ship yesterday.
You have every right to vent, I wouldn't apologize for it. -
yeah, i called and got the bad news
As for the venting, as it turns out, I self-edited a whole bunch before hitting that 'post' button.
The worst part is, when the Sager option was first mentioned, I was so close to switching to that right away, for the 64 & 32 bit versions of VistaBiz option, but figured those would take longer to become available than the PowerPro line, so I stuck with my original choice. -
Same here maditude. I guess we both got screwed.
Maybe Donald will get them next week...or maybe the next...lol
Tim -
Its looking to me that the ball was dropped again. Thats all im going to say.
-
I'm still waiting on shipping information for my laptop too. They said it would ship either yesterday or today. I hope it shipped yesterday.
-
Good luck, lamp, I hope you're order made it, too.
(That was harder to type than I thought it would be ) -
-
YES. I just got a call from xotic. Mine shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow morning.
-
congratz stocom.............i want mine
-
On a side note, my Zalman cooler arrived today. I don't think it will quite fit IFL90. My dad has a 15.4 laptop and it fits snug on there. But its not a wide screen. I think that there will be a little bit of an overhang on either side. -
If only Sager had been an option when I was looking in depth
My thought at the time: Sager has orders from a lot of places, PNB is more likely to have a stock, as they might recieve less orders.
Damnitall. Birthday tomorrow, maybe some good news? -
I'm still waiting for an IFL90 that I've ordered few weeks ago from xotic with a WXGA+ 1440x900 display. Recently, this option disappeared from their options list.
Does anyone know why? -
sigh*... ordered my PNB J10:15 june 15th... hope it comes in the second shipment
-
I ordered an IFL 90 WSXGA+ on june 4th... Im told that its in the second shipment, i swear i need to have this laptop before august 16th.. it will be rediculous if i dont, I'm also told im at the very top of the list for the second shipment, but I don't know how much that matters... i hope they get there second shipment in soon.

First and foremost, I really want to thank all you on the wonderful NBR forum because without your knowledge, insight, and not to mention aggressive shopping skills =P, I would not discover such a great alternative. Previously, I was debating and analyzing the advantages between the Inspiron 1520 and the HP dv6500, but I was never satisfied with either machines with their lackluster build quality and upgrade options. Now, I am looking at ASUS c90s
and the Sager 2090, notebooks with competitive pricing and better specs.
I ordered my Sager 2090-V as configured from PCTorque:
Sager 2090-V Gaming Notebook Qty: 1
15.4" WSXGA+ Matte LCD Display (1680x1050) Qty: 1
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 | 4MB Cache | 2.2GHz | 800MHz FSB Qty: 1
Arctic Silver 5 High Performance Thermal Compound Qty: 1
2048MB* DDR2 667MHz Qty: 1
[No Intel Turbo Memory] Qty: 1
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT PCI-E 512MB Video Memory - DirectX 10 Qty: 1
100GB | 7200 RPM | SATA-150 HDD Qty: 1
4-in-1 Memory Card Reader (MS/MSPRO/SD/MMC) Qty: 1
Integrated 56K v.90 Internal Modem Qty: 1
Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN / 802.11N Qty: 1
10/100/1000 Mbps Fast Ethernet Qty: 1
Free Notebook Carrying Case Qty: 1
No Office Software Qty: 1
Sager 1 Year Warranty, Lifetime Tech Support Qty: 1
(No Accidental Protection Policy) Qty: 1
Price: $1450.09 (I could have saved about $45 if I used check instead, but I couldn't wait with uni starting!)
Although I understand there is a considerable following between Xotic and PNB on the forums, and it is not without reason as both companies' reps have been nothing but understanding and patient with our whining and b***hing, I strongly encourage you to consider PCTorque as an alternative. Being late in the ordering game (I've heard about pre-orders from early June not arriving yet) and with Compal's incessant delays, I confess I was pretty pessimistic if my Sager would arrive in time. With that in mind, I placed my order on July 29 with the expectation of late August/early September and braced myself for university without a notebook for a couple of weeks. So, a couple of days later, I call PCTorque to ask when my Sager will arrive and whether I should cancel to opt for the c90s, and Steve, my rep, tells me August 10-12!!!, which is considerably before my expectations and a couple days before Aug 19 (my move-in date). If what he says is partially true, I could get my SWEET SAGER 2090 before people that pre-ordered months before me =)))))))))))))) and paid a hundred bucks more for the same configuration.
Offtopic: Do you think I should have gotten the Turbo Robinson Memory for $35+? Bearing in mind that my budget tops off at $1500, is there much of a boost in performance and/or future improvement?
My first post! (not counting my ninja lurking powers) -
I forgot to add that I reside in the gorgeous state of California, which definitely has its perks, but also pesky things as a recycle fee and an exorbitant internet sales tax (damn you tax-happy politicians, I'm poor!). So another advantage of PCTorque is that they don't charge you for sales tax, which is about $120+. I call them, worrying because on the website it talks about prior arrangements and so forth, but the rep kindly tells me the price on the order form, which had $0.00 tax, is the final price. So another plus for PCTorque if you live in California, not to mention the courteous service and speedy delivery (will update when arrives).

On a slightly related note, since I am also in the waiting boat, once my laptop gets here I want to carry it to school in a shoulder bag. Do you guys have any suggestions for one? One that maybe you have or have seen or places to start looking? Thanks
-
What? I would hope that those who ordered a while ago will be getting their machines before you do. I ordered on the 15th, and I still haven't even gotten past the "Pre-ordered, waiting for the machine to arrive" stage...
-
Jrog, go to the Accessories section of the forums, there is a whole long thread for that.
-
-
I ordered like the 16th of June.
And haven't gotten mine. :[
I was told to contact them back next week.. I was for sure I was n a prime line spot. -
i ordered mine june 2nd and there just now testing mine so it should be shipping pretty soon.
-
For the record I had to call and pester them to get them to update my order. I didn't even know it had shipped until I called them.
