i bought this. it's a very big, and kind of heavy backpack, but it does feel good. however, i have not actually been able to test it with a laptop yet, just books.

I'll have to check with my companies distributor but we may be able to get these compal FL90 and IFL90. I'm fairly certain we can get FL90 atm but not sure on the IFL90. Currently we deal mainly in Asus VBI & CBB notebooks (i.e. Asus s96s and such).

Well from your sig, you got an IFL-90. This recent shipment was Sager NP2090s only; Sager secured their IFL-90 whitebooks quite well and that's why many of us are receiving it now. Let's hope that IFL-90 shipments are coming in soon for you guys, too! :)

Well guys, the waiting queue for the Sager NP2090 shrinked by 1 today since I canceled my order for a WXGA one from Powernotebooks. I opted to switch to buying a Asus S96S which isn't as nice of a deal, but in healthy supply. It doesn't seem likely that Sager will be getting another shipment of WXGA laptops this week. I really want my laptop by end of next week for a business trip, so my sales guy at PNB advised switching to another brand / model.

I hope the Asus S96S is worth the extra money. I think I can live with a Geforce 8600m GS since I probably won't be gaming that much on the new laptop.

Good luck to those still waiting!

Yeah I have also removed myself from the PNB queue for a IFL-90 WXGA+ in order to get an Asus S96S shipped to me next week.

Comparing the two systems, I downgraded to a 8600GS and lost a fingerprint-reader, but have received $300+ back and a definite shipping date.

After waiting for a bunch of months, I'm happy with what I'll be getting. The overall timing for the IFL90 was just unlucky as I see it; maybe next time.

I found that carrying my laptop in a case with a handle caused tendonitis. In a backpack with books it might be quite a strain over time. I ended up getting one of these which helped a lot:

Did Donsell order from Xotic or Powernotebooks?

I'm still waiting. as many of you know I ordered June 4th.

Sent an email to Ron at PNB yesterday and he had no new news for me. None.

I called Xotic to inquire about the G1S and talked to Rich. He said that the next IFL90 (non Sager) shipment MIGHT come in next week, maybe. Or it could be the week after that (week of the 13th). If that is the case mine probably will not be here until the end of August at the earliest.

    Unbelievable.

Edit: Oopps..I see it was a PowerPro, which is a PNB. Ron did tell me that I just missed out on that first shipment (I would have thought Donsell would have got his over a week ago though) but I am definitely one of the first orders to be filled if they ever get their next shipment.
Should I get an Asus V1S now or what? Wondering what I should do.

I ordered from PowerNotebooks very early. They got a very few last week and I snuck in on that shipment. Believe me, I understand how much it sucks to wait.

Initial impressions are good. The matte screen is great. No bad pixles or light leakage at all. With all the reports of bad screens on the Dells and the Asus i was concerned.

Keyboard is in the middle. Some flex - but not as bad as my old Compaq.

I seems small and light. Again - coming from a Compaq R3000 there is a huge difference.

More when I get Vista installed

I'm at a dilemma whether to install XP or Vista. I mean I could dual boot in the long run but I've heard of Vista having a lot of driver problems and the like.

I think its the 64 bit version of Vista that has driver problems. Support for the 32 version is pretty good.

64 bit windows in general suffer(s/ed) from driver problems. But you should be fine as long as you're not trying to plug in old hardware that needs specific drivers.

I understand there isn't much concrete information on the IFL90 status, but does anyone know the ETA of a PNB IFL90 ordered July 9th? After hearing that people who ordered early - mid June haven't received theirs, I'm getting a bit worried.

I get home from work today to find a lovely note that there was no one present to sign for the package  So I called up UPS and I am supposed to go down there to pick it up in about an hour and 15 minutes. That means that there might be an initial review and pics by me tonight.

I ordered on the 22nd of June, and I was told last week I am most likely in the second shipment, somewhere in the middle-ish area of the overall list. I'm calling tomorrow to see if anything has changed, because I'm running out of time [not patience]

I ordered mine June 16th or about their, and was told I will most likely be in the next shipment.

Not sure how many people ordered it in between me and yourself.

I would say throw someone at PNB an email about an idea of what shipment you may be in and when.

They have very good staff, that tries their best to give a good time. But sadly it seems to be Compal itself recently leading to the back-ups.

Hope we all get ours soon. :]

I think its safe to ignore Kyv. If you guys are wondering when yours will ship, dont ask it in here if you want any real information. Look for posts from Donald or Justin, or give your sales rep a call. Although they dont always have information, or information you want to hear, they always respond pretty quickly and have all been honest from my perspective.

Also, look at the Sager forum and see how quick they burned through the dates of pre-orders, all its going to take is one big shipment and we will all be happy campers.

Now if only they would get another shipment.... I really don't want to have to figure out some way to get it from my house to the college after I'm up there.

Well I ordered my laptop on July 8th (Confirmed July 10), and last week I wanted to cancel my order. But when I sent Justin, from XoticPC, an e-mail canceling my order, he told me not to because he said they received my laptop and are testing them. So they must have our laptops but are still in testing. We should see them ship probably next week hopefully.

Got my 2090 right next to me. I brought a XP disc (service pack 1) with me to work, but now I'm getting a blue screen when trying to install windows xp. On the screen it gives me the long error and it seems it's pci.sys that's messed up? I think the fix is to get a XP SP2 disc and install that. Which I can't do because I'm at work :(

Nevermind I found this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=132687
