I guess my laptop had some failed hardware and they had to restart testing....I just want my laptop. Stupid delays....
I'm glad they are testing though.

Just ordered mine last night from CyberPower, who show no mention of it being out of stock and or back ordered. Sure enough, after seeing this thread, I contact them, and it's back ordered. They told me maybe a week. Any truth to this?

Great news on the sager's, NOT...
Yesterday I called xoticpc and was told that they where expecting the 2nd shipment of 2090's next week, well I called today and was told that they have no ETA but they expect the second shipment to be in 2 weeks....  btw. this was for both screens

I'm really frustrated with this whole stupid process. There just seems to be delay after delay and it really fricking sucks!I've been told for a week my laptop is still in testing. On tuesday the guy told me it would ship that day and now it still hasn't shipped and its honestly really ticking me off.

This is rediculous... I really hope thats not true because this is becoming increasingly out of hand.
Also I realize this is not our resellers fault but I have yet to see an attempt to contact me about the delays regarding this laptop. When I ordered I was told it would ship the second week of july and have not had a word since then. If I did not take the initiative to check here and e-mail them personally I would still be waiting and wondering why my laptop is 4 weeks behind.

Please accept our apology for these delays, and for not blasting emails to all of our customers who are so patiently (ok...maybe not so patiently) waiting.

It is usually our procedure to email anyone if their ship date has been delayed, but we are getting 40-60 calls and emails a day requesting status, plus numerous change orders.

We are working about 16 to 18 hours a day just to keep up.

The good news is another shipment of Sager NP2090 WXGA screens has arrived, but unfortunately it is still not enough to fill all of the pre-orders. Sager will announce on Monday or Tuesday the order date through which orders can be filled from this shipment. Further good news is that the WXGA screens are now flowing and another shipment will be in next week as well, so Sager hopes to have all WXGA orders (that don't have TV Tuners...still no ETA on them) filled and shipped from that 2nd shipment.

WSXGA+ versions of the Sager NP2090, PowerPro J 10:15 and Xoticpc Force are in question and could still be 1 or 2 more weeks out.

If you have a date certain by which you need to either receive your laptop or cancel I would recommend contacting your reseller with that information.

For what it is worth, what I am hearing from many students is that they don’t really need their laptops the day school starts, and would rather wait a while to get what they really want rather than settle for 2nd best just so they can have it right away.

The problem is we have had SEVERAL ETA's from Compal, but to this point only a very few have come in and several dates have been missed altogether for various...mostly unstated...reasons.

We have been told yet again to expect them next week, but at this point why is this any more believable than the previous ETA's? That is why at this point we are not announcing any more ETA's...we will simply announce their arrival and the order date through which we can fill and ship orders.

Well looks like the wait can't go on for me, I will be canceling my order to switch to the G1S, sorry but I've waited as long as I could, and this is about my limit with no definitive date in sight. Anyways, good luck to all with your IFL90's and thanks to Justin and Donald for all the support, hopefully Compal doesnt screw you guys over again in the near future. Now I'm going to come back to this forum when my G1S comes in and I'll see the new post "WSXGA+ Screens Finally In For Force/Power Pro orders" :)

The problem with the G1S is not only the weird looks, but the fact that to customize it to the same specs as the Sager/Compal, it is like $500 more dollars, and you get a worse warranty.

You do get more with the G1s for the extra money but unfortunately it cannot be downgraded to be priced with the IFL90. If the difference wasnt so much (I am already at my limit with the IFL90) I would have made the switch awhile ago.

Hang in there guys - it is worth the wait! Just got my powerpro ifl-90, and WOW, it is a nice laptop. The screen (wsxga+) is beautiful - I was afraid it might be too high-res, but it's not at all. It doesn't get hot at all (even after a good hour of F.E.A.R.), and it's very quiet. Only time I noticed any fan noise was when installing some games from cd media.

I know some people have said their keyboard was a little too flexible, but I sure don't notice any (my other laptop is an old ThinkPad G40). Just wish that there was a track-pointer, cuz my left thumb keeps brushing over the trackpad and moving focus on me.

Vista will definitely take some getting used to. I had PNB put 64-bit Vista Business on it, so far, everything I've installed is working fine. Haven't attempted Oracle yet, tho -will wait 'til I can pick up some more RAM first.

Wish I had cancelled last week when I could of ordered a inspiron 1520 for $500 less than I already paid for my preorder. Estimated shipping on that would of been 8/10. Now the inspiron would ship end of august if ordered. Totally screwed and now notebookless.

I have given this a lot of thought. I have went and looked at the G1S on two different occasions and actually very much like the looks of the G1S except for the green lights, which can be turned off. Other than that, the G1S has a very high tech (carbon fiber, aluminum, in-mold design) that I really like. My Compal IFL90 from PNB came to about $1725 or so with shipping. It is comparable to the G1S except the G1S has the Compal beat in the DDR3 memory department. There are only two things that have kept me hanging on to the hopes of actually getting this computer 1) The matte screen. Everyone tells me that this particular screen is awesome. 2) The better battery life of the Compal. 3) the reputation of Powernotebooks. 4) Being able to get XP on the IFL90 instead of Vista. (Ok, thats four, I know).
I am going to do some research this weekend and decide what I am going to do. If the Asus V1S was going to use the GT instead of the GS card I would get that but that is going to be even MORE expensive than the G1S.
I sent an email on Friday to PNB and the response was to check back mid next week for any news. Lets say they optimistically get them in by next week late. By the time they ship it to me it will be somewhere around the 17th or so of August. I know I have been guaranteed that I am in the next shipment (my preorder date was June 4th), but I have pretty much decided that this has gone on long enough.
So, Monday morning I will most likely cancel my order and all of you that are waiting in line for the IFL90 from PNB will move up one slot. The second order will come in sometime, maybe 1, maybe 2 or maybe even 3 weeks from now. I need to really think about this though and make what I feel will be the best choice for me. I know that the Asus G1S is a great machine and I don't think I will be disappointed.
What a fiasco for trying to get my first laptop. Heck, maybe I should wait another month, I've waited 41 years already!

    It is.

Just a note on the previous post on the G1S - its a great machine, but its not carbon fiber. It just has a print in the plastic.

I just hate the look of it.

Anyways I think it would of been nice of powernotebooks or xotic to offer customers who ordered their branded laptops with 1680x1050 screens a switch to the sagers of the same resolution and put in the line according to when they ordered.

It irritates me so much that I ordered my power pro in may when the sager was not even listed in the site. When it was after I ordered it only has the low res version. I didnt mind cause I wanted the higher res. But later sager got the option for the high res near the end of june i think. So basically those who ordered the sager near the end of june, a month after me, got a better price (minus warranty big deal...) and also got their laptop shipped first.

Im not happy as you probably can tell from previous posts. Ignore me like that other guy suggested. You all see its true.

and apparantley im still not expected one for a couple more weeks....

Now laptopless... and $1500 short in my account I could of been getting interest on the last couple months.

They should upgrade all of our shipping to either 1 or 2 day for free for this long wait.

It looks like it will be down to the wire for my wait, but the idea of shelling out an extra 60 bucks for next day delivery because the release date kept getting pushed back isn't too appealing.

Ooops Donsell, your correct, thanks for pointing that out.

Too each his own on the looks. I actually somewhat like flashy looks, just not the lights.

Excellent idea about the order que. Won't happen though.

I am already upgraded to second day air. Doesn't do much good though if the laptop doesn't exist. I don't really understand the comment about down to the wire. At this point the delivery date has not been narrowed down to a particular date, but maybe to a particular MONTH.

I got upgraded shipping too and I thought I would have my laptop this last week as they told me it was in testing on July 26th. Its still in testing and hasn't shipped. Tomorrow it will be officially two months since I ordered this laptop...definitely not buying another Compal again.

By down to the wire I mean assuming that the WSXGA shipment comes in not this coming week but the week after that sometime (I.E. sometime between the 13th and the 17th) then 3-6 business days for shipping is gonna be really close to or possibly past the time when I leave for college.

This is the best possible outcome that I can really hope for at the moment. If it comes in after that I'm pretty screwed and will be stuck without a laptop for the first couple weeks of school.

At this point it's too late to change or cancel the order and get something else that will arrive in a timely manner. Not to mention the fact that there's little else that fits the bill of a 15" laptop with good gaming capability for a low price. The super high tech gaming look of the G1S isn't really too appealing for taking around campus and to classes. =(

Edit: Oh and the dell 1520 has a ship date of the 22nd at this point so that wouldn't help much either. Not to mention its a dell.

In the sager forum there seems to be talk of the WSXGA's coming in this week. I dont really know how the sager and compal orders relate so does this intrest those of us waiting for the compal?

I don't think it matters which one is being talked about. With the current shipment track record, we can safely assume that there's no telling if anything will -actually- be in this week or not. Don't start getting excited till we get an official announcement.

I don't mind the wait... it's the not knowing thats getting to me.

Yes this has been the worst part of the whole thing. The wait hadnt really bothered me either untill I realized I may not get this notebook before school starts, which would be a huge disadvantage for me.
I hope we hear something soon or I might be ordering a laptop with green flashing lights.
