yup and hurray mine shipping out tonight or tommorw, glad i upped to 1 day shipping....i got the Sager brand though

 

I think it depends on how you paid. One of my friends ordered from xotic and moved. he paid with a credit card and they said they could change the shipping address but he'd have to change the address on his credit card too.

 

You will probably need to just add an alternate temporary shipping address on the credit card. Just call the credit card company and they should help you out.

 

Mine didn't have the sticker either. Supposedly it is in the mail.

yes, it came in last week i belive they shipped out this morning, mine will be arriving at my house on monday!

The sticker on the back of the lid that says Sager, Xotic etc. I just have a blank rectangle there that looks really odd.

I ordered my WSXGA from PNB on July 20th. I called them yesterday and they asked me to check back on Aug. 17th for an update. It's hard to believe that Compal won't give them a firm timeframe on delivery. I was hoping for the laptop by end of the month, but it honestly doesn't look good.

Pro-Star computers, I've had a really good experience with them, although some people haven't also I got 2-day Shipping so it should be here thursday =D hope that helps

Im confused I just called xotic and they told me they dont have any units yet but expect them by the end of the month...

 

i'm in the list of waiting here.... it's just a barebone so i need HDD and RAM CPU for that one.

 

Yeah, i've given up on getting any kinda of update from xotic. They always tell me something different from the info i get here, so i don't know which way to go, lol. But i can understand it from there end since i working in a computer store and have people calling me constantly for updates.

 

XoticPC has gotten on my nerves a bit. First by telling me that I would 100% have my laptop in my hands by the 25th. Not updating my order after I requested changes. Their inability to answer more than one question in an email.

 

Unfortunately this is a very familiar aspect of my time dealing with them.

 

I took it as a learning experience to just call them on the phone.... The lesson was a bit on the late side though and as a result I'll be getting my laptop a couple of days later.

 

Eh, I think we need to consider that every company has two types of people; the helpful, knowledgeable people, and the not-so-helpful people. During my time with XoticPC I have encountered both, but ultimately it's been a reasonable experience.

If you request that changes be made to an order, it usually takes a few days for the changes to take effect, and for someone to e-mail you. That's just the way it is.

Anyway, if it makes any of you worriers out there feel any better, Xotic told me that they were getting another shipment of IFL90s by the end of this week. I don't know who said they weren't going to be in for another month, (?) but I don't think that's the case. Mine has shipped, and I ordered July eighteenth.

Just hang in there guys. =)

Did you get the wsxga screen? If you did, that's only going to add to my anger since i ordered mine June 21 and haven't heard anything. Also, all of my email requests have gone unanswered and I must get the not-so-helpful people everytime i call, so i've given up on calling as well. Now i'm just waiting hoping that what i'm reading on this forum is accurate and hopefully i'll get it next week sometime...

 

He must have ordered WXGA because I ordered on July 19th and changed my order about a week ago based on information from Xotic that the WSXGA would not be shipping by the end of this week but a G1S-A1 would. Since mine has to arrive on or before August 22nd I changed it.

 

I need mine before the 22nd too.

But if I changed to anything it would be a 14" equivalent or a macbook pro..

The first one eludes me and the latter is expensive as hell...

When did you order and what screen (wxga or wsxga)? You got an email yours has shipped?

 

Although true it is expensive, IMHO I think it's worth it. btw it's only $1800 with the student discount plus a free ipod and printer. I love mine. Although you probably wouldn't even get an MBP by the 22nd unless you bought it at the store.

 

Well even though it's DDR3 vram I can't justify it at all.

I mean..

1800 base build with a 128mb card, 5400rpm HD, and would have to buy xp or vista to dual boot.

Upgrading to a 256 card, 7200 rpm drive, and vista would make it well over 2000 even with a student discount.

The IFL90 came out to like 1700.

Its like 500$ cheaper for a similar build.

Trust me, I love the Macbook Pro, but my college runs on XP and I just don't see the reason to have a MBP.

It is mainly a grad/college present from my father, and he is already about the price..

Plus.. It's a beautiful machine.. And according to PNB I should be i nthis shipment if all goes well!!

It doesn't make much sense that you wouldn't have your laptop yet. Did you order it with the TV tuner?

 

I ordered the WSXGA with TV Tuner from Xotic on July 6. They've always been prompt in responding to my e-mail inquiries. I've been lurking on this thread for about a month. I haven't seen much about TV tuner delays, other than a mention a while ago that the TV tuners weren't in yet. As there wasn't any sign of the computers back then either, I found it only mildly disturbing. Hopefully, we'll find out later today that the slow boat from Taiwan has finally sailed into port and there are non-Sager models to be had. I really hope the tuners don't add to the wait. Has anyone heard otherwise?

 

From what I've read lately, there is no ETA on TV tuners. In the end, I went looking for a USB tuner and I found a few posts around from others who did. If you need your laptop sooner than later, I'd recommend removing the tuner from your order and either going USB, nab a tuner and install yourself later (read up on the difficulty of this first!), or send in your laptop and have it installed later on.
