Wow, good news that the WSXGA+ are in. I haven't been waiting long compared to most of you (ordered on...July 8th or 9th I think). Luckily college doesn't start until late september for me, so I have plenty of time.

 

Is there any news on wxga+ screens? I ordered mine at the end of June, but I need it by august 15th at the absolute latest.

If I do end up having to order something else, are there any really compareable options? I feel like this laptop is perfect for me, but I can't be sitting at college for weeks without a computer. I've looked at the G1S, but it's more expensive and far more ugly.

 

WXGA+ screens? I heard they aren't going to be shipped until August, maybe even mid-August. But don't quote me on it.

Ok this might be a really dumb question. The Compal comes pre-assembled and with Windows installed and stuff right? I ordered from Xotic. I've never assembled a laptop so I'd be SOL if it comes as parts.

 

Yes, it does, assuming you ordered their Force version//Sager version. If you bought the barebones, they charge a bit extra for installing parts/software.

 

It depends on what you ordered. I ordered the Sager from Xotic, and I chose the 'Drivers and Utilities CD Only' option for the OS. I've got copies of XP sitting around here, and the first thing I do is wipe the thing anyway

I believe the default is XP tho, but it might not hurt to check your order if you're really worried.

 

Or you could just give Justin a call and see if he will have the OS installed for you. It isn't too hard to install the OS yourself but finding the drivers can sometimes be a little tricky.

I ordered the Force. I'm not worried about installing the OS, that should be easy. I was worried about putting it together myself. But I guess they come assembled so thats good.

 

As others have stated above if you purchase anything but the Barebones it will arrive fully assembled and tested. If you purchase a OS, we will install it so you can use your new machine right out of the box.

I'd wait till the end of the day for the emails.

 

The units have to complete testing before they are shipped. Tracking #'s are updated the morning after shipment. We plan on shipping these first ones ASAP.

Can an order from July 6 make the cut? I doubt it. So does that make the next shipment a week from the first?

 

Seems like the first shipment is going out this week. I ordered from powernotebooks.com and I believe I placed my order and payed for it June 30th, and I already know I'm not going to be in the first shipment, so you might be able to get in the second depending on how large it is (of course after the first there will be larger numbers of units coming in because of that initial bottlehead of supply from the manufacturers.).

I'd like to know the same thing. I think Donald mentioned to me that it would be around a week later but I'm not 100% sure.

 

I am sorry but there is not a confirmed date for the 2nd shipment. We have been told they will be shortly after this first shipment but no precise date has been provided

Well, this is good news. Thanks to Donald and Justin. I'm glad I haven't cancelled my order because I know the Sager 2090 has certain specs that other laptops don't have. Today I'm going to call my reseller if they can tell me if I make it into the first shipment. I should make the second...I hope

Apparently they only got about 12 of the WSXGAs in this shipment... Is this a joke?

 

Treiner - What value would that information give anyone? We let all customers know when items ship. We ship all orders in the order they were received.

 

Hey, I'm sure they're going to ship them out this week so not knowing the date isn't a problem. But 12 wsxga+'s are the only ones!!! Is this true? I hope this is considered a very very small shipment.

 

It's just for the sake of interest because some of us have been waiting and have dates we need the comps by that weren't a problem when we ordered a month ago. I know that you guys are busy and shipping out what you have, but at this point we are all thinking, "It's coming sometime in the next month," and I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm just interested in knowing when I get my laptop that I'm paying $1700 for.

It's just human interest because we want to know whether we get our stuff in a week, or whenever the next shipment comes.

 

I completely understand being frustrated with the ongoing delays. We greatly appreciate everyones continued patience.

Donald and I both come here usually within hours of any new information and share it with the community. We want to provide the item ordered as fast as possible to everyone.

We don't put numbers on customers but rather assign a order date as the sole method on when items are shipped. I understand your interest in it.

 

Hey Justin,
I'm curious are the people who are in the first shipment already notified? I think it would be nice to let everyone know at least if there in the first shipment or not.
