Ordering on the 24th of June I'm crossing my fingers im #'s 17 or 18 haha
-
lol im July 5th, maybe, just maybe ill be lucky lol
-
ok, I have an idea that is just for fun and making up for the waiting time for the awesome notebooks that await us. This is for xotic customers only. They have 21 notebooks at the most in stock. Therefore, if more than 18 people claim to have ordered the wsxga+ computer then maybe some of us can then guess if we fall within the first shipment. Lets count up the people too. So add the last person's # to your #. Remember, xotic only Ready? Go!
1 -
LOL I think this is why Justin didn't want to tell us.
Tim -
The suspense is intense.
-
Your notebook will be at your house when its at your house, trying to guess which shipment its on will only make the waiting worse. Just remember that the WSXGA are now finally shipping, so they will get to yours at some point.
-
The Countdown: 5, 4, 3...5, 4, 3...5, 4, c'mon Sager lets get into action!!
-
My order date was June 15th and Justin told me I wasn't part of the first shipment so there is no way anyone who ordered after that is.
Anyone who ordered in July probably won't get theirs until the third shipment if you are lucky. -
Remember, if you ordered a Sager through XoticPC or PowerNotebooks, it is Sager who is configuring the machine and shipping it to you, not your reseller. The machines XoticPC has in inventory are used to fulfill the order of their own home-brand Compal IFL90 (called the Force, if I recall correctly).
-
Well it still is through xotic i believe cause its just called the Force/ifl90 so hopefully.....i dk, i just want mine!!! lol, im hoping my WXGA screen helps me get it faster!
-
Huh... yeah, they use the label "Force" for the Sagers too apparently. My comment still stands however, the Sagers you buy though a reseller are shipped from Sager, not from your reseller.
-
But don't they first have to ship to Xotic? My order says "PRE-ORDER Pending Item Arrival"...
-
I think as long as you aren't located in Cali, Sager ships directly to you.
-
1 More Day - Cant wait. Too bad I work until 7, got to wait until after work ahhh
Steven -
StoCom did you order a Force from Xotic or did you order a Sager?
-
a Force(Compal). I expect the Sager WSXGAs will take even longer.
-
No offense, but what are you basing that on? We should stick to solid numbers, noone knows how big any shipments will be, or even when they will arrive. Let's let Justin and Donald be the only ones sounding off about delivery dates please.
-
Ive talked to service at both pctorque and xotic and both have told me that wxga is expected to ship by early aug while wsxga by mid august
edit- that is, if you ordered right now. -
glad u said right now! lol
-
I think you need to chill out, he never sounded off a date first of all and all he did was answer my question and added a little bit of opinion. He said I "expect" he didnt't say "this is how it is." And from what I've heard he's probably right.
-
I dont remember getting excited about anything. The only person (Donald) that has stated anything with regards to Sager has said that he expected Sager to be on the same schedule as everyone else. I would hate for someone to cancel their order, or switch configurations due to someones "opinion" that is based on...... well, nothing.
-
Sco_fri is right. There's no reason to believe the machines built by Sager are going to ship any latter than similarly configured machines built and shipped by XoticPC, PowerNotebooks or any local shop. If you believe otherwise, please tell us what your rationale for believing so is.
It's not a matter of chilling or not chilling. It's a matter of avoiding wild guesses. -
lol not jumping to conclusions at all so many people go oh **** this guy said that, oh he must be 100% right, screw it I'm going to cancel my order that I've only been waiting for umm say 1-2 months for.
EDIT you guys are right no one can voice their opinions any more unless they 100% absolutly positive that they are right -
I'm getting my Sager wsxga+ computer around August 3rd. Early August for sure.
-
Did you find out that you were in the first shipment?
-
I ordered yesterday, today I got a call from xotic pc saying that my compal with wxga screen would not get to me till mid to late august. I changed my order to wxga screen because they told me I would have a better chance to get those by august 13.
-
Did you mean you originally ordered the WXGA+, or the WSXGA?
-
Originally I ordered the Wsxga, and was told that would delay my shipment more so I changed the order to the wxga
-
When did you order?
-
Yesterday.
-
yesterday...
-
Where did you order from and when?
-
Hmm, I ordered from powernotebooks in the middle of july.
I ordered with tuner and bluetooth and wsxga+ screens. Do you think I'll see it by mid august? -
Again, only your reseller can tell you when your machine may come. Trying to infer your shipping date based on what people say on this forum is not the way to get an authoritative answer about your situation.
-
Correct you are Lemur, however I dont think that it's even worth it contacting the reseller about it because they don't really know much and just tell you that they don't know and they also will not give an estimate or tell you where you are in line. So if you need it by a certain date like myself and many others, this was a terrible decision to buy this notebook because nobody has any information.
-
It wasn't a terrible decision - that would be ordering it now, knowing that it probably won't arrive for a while when you need it soon!
Nobody could have known what has happened, it's just the luck of the draw.
That being said, hurry the heck up! I want my machine!
-
Today I checked on the status of my order with Powernotebooks for a NP2090 w/ WXGA (1280x800) which I placed on 7/12. According to the sales rep, they expect more WXGA laptops this week and will begin shipping them next week. When I placed my order, they anticipated shipping by end of July, but sounds like that's not going to happen. Anyways, just fyi.
-
It wasnt a terrible decision thanks to the actual machine which is a great value however when I ordered the website said shipping early to mid July. Now in the business world it is usually considered "unprofessional" not to back up what was posted on your website. Now I know it isn't their fault but who ever is to blame, the company who is recieving the money should compensate in some way, now that would be considered good business. I also find it hard to believe that someone isn't aware of where the Compal's are. Someone isnt leaking information to troubled consumers. If your a company and are receiving notebooks from a major producer of a product, that producer will usually let you know exactly when they are sending their products and if products are in transit then there is usually a tracking number or device on them or a shipping estimate. Now we have recieved very little information and my gut tells me theres more information than what has been disclosed.
-
I got a call from my reseller about a week ago confirming to me that my computer would arrive in early August. I ordered the wsxga from xotic on July 6. Of course, that was a week ago things could change.
-
Eh, figured I might as well sign up for this forum since I've been reading it so much. I've never been in a situation where I've put good money down for a product that the seller can't tell me if or when I'll receive it. I just emailed my reseller and they wouldn't give me any eta.
-
Guys the resellers are just as clueless about the ETA times as we are. If you really want to complain about your shipment delays send a complaint to Compal.

Anybody who is not happy is free to cancel their order and buy something else.
I'm not happy and I did seriously consider canceling last Thursday but after reviewing my options, I decided to wait some more. The only two other options I see are the Asus G1S and the Dell 1520. The thing I find to be a serious problem with the G1S is the battery life, which I think is too short. And Dell, well, after 3 Dell laptops, I've decided I did not want to stay with Dell. I think the 1520 would be more to my liking than the G1S but when I checked the shipping deadlines on a Dell were not good. (The machine would have arrived at a time during which I would not be free to deal with it.) So I decided to wait some more but the clock is ticking. I'm already angry at Compal for not properly planning for contingencies and not having a dependable way supplying their North-American resellers. If it turns out that I decide to cancel my order, this will be a significant red mark on Compal's name in my book.
By the way, I've been in worse situations than this. -
I was very close to cancelling last week when they said that they recieved the WSXGA screens. But I think I will shoot an e-mail to Compal. The resellers and their customer service is the only reason I even kept the order open for so long.
-
Just sent an email to Compal, will post an answer if I get any.
-
I agree customer service is the only wall holding me back from cancelling. GOOD JOB TO DONALD AND JUSTIN!!
-
I agree customer service is the only wall holding me back from cancelling. GOOD JOB TO DONALD AND JUSTIN!! I SALUTE TO YOU!
-
I just sent an email to compal as well. I'll post if I get a reply.
-
A bit of advice if you write to Compal: there's a fine line between sounding like a concerned customer and sounding like a whiny brat. You are more likely to be taken seriously if you sound like the former rather than the latter. Be careful about the tone of your message. Avoid hyperbole, for instance, because that torpedoes your argument.
-
This is what I wrote:
Hello,
I am writting on behalf of your many customers who are waiting for a long promised Compal IFL90 and the rest of Santa Rosa line up. We are waiting and waiting patiently, some of us for 3-4 month on backorder. Most of the customers are very upset and ready to cancel their orders. These customers are owners of previous models of Compal with good impressions of your company which is about to change if we do not hear from your representatives.
Please, a word from Compal would make a difference. Most of your customers can be located at http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1017 and http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1030.
Thank you.
