Yeah... But can you imagine the disappointment when you turn it on?

Rick,
You've got to be willing to keep your day job if you are going to sell stuff like that. Sooner or later people will get the drift. Again, what sort of person would buy that, with decent CF-28s selling for a $100 or so less on the same page?

Uh... Let's not start plugging the sales of our stuff... That is not what we are here for. If you want to use the BST forum... Please do.
-
Robert,
Enlighten me, how do you make your add show up on eBayUK, offer shipping to Europe?
CAP -
Hi Cap,
yes, something along those lines, I think items can only be viewed in countries you say you will ship to.
Robert. -
Robert,
OK, but can't you just log on to eBay US? I know I can log onto eBayCA, AU, UK etc. A lot of us are reluctant to list shipping to foreign countries because there are so many problems. I will always ship to any where except Nigeria, but I like to have the bidder contact me first so I can check them on my "Idiot Meter" before I agree to let them bid.
CAP -
Hmmmm... So if I decide I want to ship to the UK... And I have 1000 - 100% feedbacks in the US, then when I start in the UK I start at 0? That doesn't sound fair. But then life rarely is...
-
Guys,
Just received mine from this seller, part of the last batch of (5). Great condition, only 1375 hours but despite the listing stating a DVD drive, a floppy drive was in the bay, also no battery. I also noted the boot priority was changed to USB opticl first, explains how they installed XP. Contacted the seller, waiting to hear back. Just check yours out.
Missed the CF-29 I had and am eager to get back
-
Rick,
As far as I can tell, everything goes with you. If you go to eBay UK and you are not signed in you get a sign in screen if you click on watch this item or whatever. Just sign in on the UK site and it all works. I've never tried to list on a foreign site but maybe I will. I just hate to deal with people who aren't expecting the crazy shipping costs and b*tch after the sale. Ohlip, how does this work?
CAP -
Mine came exactly as advertised. DVD drive, battery and all. -
Seller replied
"The floppy I can believe because we still have a several left and some of them do have floppys....But really there was no battery?" -
Is he gonna make it right and send you what he advertised.
-
He said he will ship them both out tomorrow. I was not happy with his initial response challenging me on the missing battery( we have 700+ 100% FB) and I already bought a couple new batteries but wanted what I paid for.
-
Mine came with the floppy also, so I am contacting the seller tonight. Battery was there and it is a yellow tab.
-
I used my floppy as target practice for my Tippmann A5 paintball gun
-
If the owner (Al) responds expect a short response. I emailed him this evening to confirm shipment of my DVD and battery and the response was
"Yeah They Shipped"
No tracking number offered and still no apology despite pointing out my unit was configured to boot off an external drive -
10" Panasonic Toughbook 1000nit remote touchscreen for $45, why wouldn't you?

These do work without the keyboard and function cables. RGB video cable and serial cable gets it going. 1000 nit!

Cheap 29 with DVD and battery, good deal for someone!

I wonder if i could swap out that 10" LCD into a CF-18 or CF-19 and get 1000nit? Any idea's guys
-James -
Lasted 19 minutes-29 seconds, don't you just hate that when you are the seller?
CAP -
The vld02 has 7 inverters driving 7 CCFL's, and draws 60W (3.85A at 15.6V). I suspect if you could get it to work, your battery life would be dismal. However, the display is awsome in a vehicle, where the power usage is not an issue
nine -
What about the VLD01 ?
-
Zippy,
The VDL01 is a 1000nit touch screen, VDL02 is 1200nits. I suspect either would draw too much power for a laptop. The 01 has native resolution of 600x800, the 02 768x1024. I like the lower resolution for in car use as the icons, tool tray, etc are easier to see, and the lower resolution is not noticeable on the maps. I had an 01 on the bench today next to my touch CF-29 and the 01 blows the CF-29 display out of the water!
CAP -
The thickness required for the backlights is one issue
Thats one thing that I notice on the cf-30 , the lcd cover is thicker than the cf-29
With a rating of 1000nits it would be comparable to the cf-30 in power usage at the highest setting
The lower 800x600 resolution would be an issue with some programs, but as Cap said its an ideal resolution for finger touch as the icons are larger and easier to click on
Alex -
LoL I ended up picking it up, it was just too good to pass up on! Now I have way too many 29s
-
JEEZE!! What the hell was this guy thinking selling it at that price!?!?!?
-
Thats is marketing.
But for the part of the buyer, thats is stupidity.
no nothing.
Thats is life, we have to accept that
ohlip -
LOL crazy good price! Thats why I couldn't pass it up
-
Man you got a killer deal on the cf-29 Connor.
-James -
Yup, but seriously the toughbooks are starting to slowly take over my room, its getting out of hand! I really should sell my 29s and get a 30
-
For those of you that may be interested in a wireless display.

According to the configurator, this was a special run for the Bakersfield PD and it has factory GPS!

I am bidding on one now. We'll see. -
Yeah, I saw those... a group of them just ended for an incredible price for 1.6 GHZ machines... I didn't jump on it 'cause of the lack of touchscreen, and wasn't sure if they were the standard motherboards in them...
-
Ditto, I would have bid but non-touch doesn't really interest me, also the ones that ended before looked like the screens still were pretty marked up. The GPS is nice though.....
-
Well I hope it has the GPS as I just bought one for $387.98. Either way, it is still a good price.
-
Good deal for someone. On a CF 29.

Darn cheap! (and already sold) This is the same seller that sold that 29 for $375 last week...
-
There were four more that sold for $388 when I got mine today. The screen capture of the BIOS showed it had only 2500 hours so it had not been used for very long. I already got notice of it being shipped so I am anxious to find out if it does have the GPS.. The rest of the description matched the configurator so hopefully that will also.
-
As I recall... It will have the GPS but not the touchscreen. (Why I didn't buy them)
-
I get the $375 one in the mail today, I'll keep you posted as to the quality and the sellers service, hopefully this is as good of a deal as it appeared

pretty sure this is rev.0
-
Yeah I read it and its a rev.0, BTW the $375 29 just arrived.......I have never seen anything like this. I swear its brand new. Not a scratch on the machine, the keyboard even feels new. It has the rough feel on the palmrest still, not wear even on the stickers. I swear its never been used, not a scratch or mark on the screen and the seller was amazing with communication. Also included a DVD/CD-RW drive. I've never got this good of a deal in my life.
-
Connor, was the seller Rollie9393?
-
Here is a hard drive in caddy,to bad its in the UK http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/panasonic-cf-...14&_trkparms=72:1690|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
-
Yup sure was, I was very pleased, I'll prolly buy some more from him. I wonder where he got these in such great shape?
-
MERCI is evidently an Iowa electronics recycling co, but maybe you knew that.
BTW, two quick questions for you and others:
1. These machines don't have MSWord included; I've got MSWord discs for my desktop; can I load it onto one of these?
2. Do touchscreens tend to get scuffed up? I don't really need the touchscreen, and worry that it might be dulled a bit from all the touching
; any problems with yours? Thanks. I'm looking at either the 1.2 or the 1.4.
Post all TOUGHBOOK DEALS here (eBay etc...)
