    Rick,
You've got to be willing to keep your day job if you are going to sell stuff like that. Sooner or later people will get the drift. Again, what sort of person would buy that, with decent CF-28s selling for a $100 or so less on the same page?

    Hi Cap,

yes, something along those lines, I think items can only be viewed in countries you say you will ship to.

    Robert,
OK, but can't you just log on to eBay US? I know I can log onto eBayCA, AU, UK etc. A lot of us are reluctant to list shipping to foreign countries because there are so many problems. I will always ship to any where except Nigeria, but I like to have the bidder contact me first so I can check them on my "Idiot Meter" before I agree to let them bid.

Hmmmm... So if I decide I want to ship to the UK... And I have 1000 - 100% feedbacks in the US, then when I start in the UK I start at 0? That doesn't sound fair. But then life rarely is...

    Guys,

Just received mine from this seller, part of the last batch of (5). Great condition, only 1375 hours but despite the listing stating a DVD drive, a floppy drive was in the bay, also no battery. I also noted the boot priority was changed to USB opticl first, explains how they installed XP. Contacted the seller, waiting to hear back. Just check yours out.

Missed the CF-29 I had and am eager to get back :)

    Rick,
As far as I can tell, everything goes with you. If you go to eBay UK and you are not signed in you get a sign in screen if you click on watch this item or whatever. Just sign in on the UK site and it all works. I've never tried to list on a foreign site but maybe I will. I just hate to deal with people who aren't expecting the crazy shipping costs and b*tch after the sale. Ohlip, how does this work?

He said he will ship them both out tomorrow. I was not happy with his initial response challenging me on the missing battery( we have 700+ 100% FB) and I already bought a couple new batteries but wanted what I paid for.

If the owner (Al) responds expect a short response. I emailed him this evening to confirm shipment of my DVD and battery and the response was

    "Yeah They Shipped"

No tracking number offered and still no apology despite pointing out my unit was configured to boot off an external drive

The vld02 has 7 inverters driving 7 CCFL's, and draws 60W (3.85A at 15.6V). I suspect if you could get it to work, your battery life would be dismal. However, the display is awsome in a vehicle, where the power usage is not an issue

    Zippy,
The VDL01 is a 1000nit touch screen, VDL02 is 1200nits. I suspect either would draw too much power for a laptop. The 01 has native resolution of 600x800, the 02 768x1024. I like the lower resolution for in car use as the icons, tool tray, etc are easier to see, and the lower resolution is not noticeable on the maps. I had an 01 on the bench today next to my touch CF-29 and the 01 blows the CF-29 display out of the water!

The thickness required for the backlights is one issue
Thats one thing that I notice on the cf-30 , the lcd cover is thicker than the cf-29
With a rating of 1000nits it would be comparable to the cf-30 in power usage at the highest setting
The lower 800x600 resolution would be an issue with some programs, but as Cap said its an ideal resolution for finger touch as the icons are larger and easier to click on

Yeah, I saw those... a group of them just ended for an incredible price for 1.6 GHZ machines... I didn't jump on it 'cause of the lack of touchscreen, and wasn't sure if they were the standard motherboards in them...

There were four more that sold for $388 when I got mine today. The screen capture of the BIOS showed it had only 2500 hours so it had not been used for very long. I already got notice of it being shipped so I am anxious to find out if it does have the GPS.. The rest of the description matched the configurator so hopefully that will also.

Yeah I read it and its a rev.0, BTW the $375 29 just arrived.......I have never seen anything like this. I swear its brand new. Not a scratch on the machine, the keyboard even feels new. It has the rough feel on the palmrest still, not wear even on the stickers. I swear its never been used, not a scratch or mark on the screen and the seller was amazing with communication. Also included a DVD/CD-RW drive. I've never got this good of a deal in my life. :D

MERCI is evidently an Iowa electronics recycling co, but maybe you knew that.

BTW, two quick questions for you and others:

    1. These machines don't have MSWord included; I've got MSWord discs for my desktop; can I load it onto one of these?

    2. Do touchscreens tend to get scuffed up? I don't really need the touchscreen, and worry that it might be dulled a bit from all the touching :); any problems with yours? Thanks. I'm looking at either the 1.2 or the 1.4.
