haha. I think that was his point. Those here won't pay much more than that to purchase one, and apparently, we are the only ones buying them. So he can't sell it for more. ILL GIVE YOU FITY CENTS FOR IT!!

The $300 CF29 laptop I picked up needed work done to it. Needs OS reloaded, battery missing, disk drive missing, missing port cover, or other small stuff. For people with extra parts or factory reload disks, stuff like this is not a big deal. If you want a turn key computer with everything you want, you're going to pay a lot more. People on here that find great deals usually know they're going to need to do this.
-
Exactly,,,, all but one of the Toughbooks that I have purchased have needed either parts, a lot of work,,, or both.
The CF-T2 that I got for my daughter to use for school is the only one that came complete and ready to go, right out of the box. (I also paid a lot more for the T2)

I know guys, I was just joking.
A bit frustrating trying to sell anything on eBay now. People seem to think it's Armageddon and want everything for 80% off. -
I'm scared to even buy anything on Ebay now. The last two times I tried to buy something and clicked pay now I found out the sellers were not even listed as paypal users(even though they said use paypal in ad). Then the scammers tried to send me a link to paypal through email. I told them I wasn't falling for the click the link nonsense. I send Ebay notes about this and the guys flew the scene. I bet they scam many unsuspecting people with this everyday. Now many people are so nervous buying anything from Ebay they will only go through sellers with many thousands sold.
-
There is always a "trick" to buying on ebay... Never mind the price... That is what it is... But finding an honest seller is getting A LOT harder! You don't want to buy from an unknown... But you also don't want to become just another number for a Mega-PowerSeller. That's why I avoided using the PowerSeller logo on my stuff because there is a lot of mixed emotion about that.
The Mom & Pop and single sellers (Such as myself & Ohlip) are rapidly being replaced by the mega-sellers and storefronts. It's getting harder and harder to find a TRUE good deal. The price is one thing... But getting what you THINK you are getting is a different deal entirely!
And then there are the people who lurk here and take our ideas without ever giving back or participating... But that is another thread entirely! -
I can confirm that no one is even freakin' looking at the items on eBay!! my old company's eBay store's bandwidth per month for the pictures that I host (chennoor.com/ebaypictures) went from 26+GB/month JUST IN IMAGE LOADS to having only 1.2GB in the month of February!!!!
-
Yeah, well... you'll find that Craigslist is VERY busy of late. Lots of slow loading & server timeouts; gee whiz, I wonder why everybody's looking for yard sale goods...
mnem<~~~Considers himself lucky to have work at all~* -
I know this doesn't belong here but I'm posting it anyways
:
BAM: http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/25/panasonics-latest-toughbook-30-unboxing-and-hands-on/
This is model CF-30KAPAXAM - I wonder if it is the start of the 3rd mark...
I don't know though because according to some websites that have it for sale it is a 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo... -
I was issued a Thinkpad several years ago. I absolutely hated it! Bad design, always seemed to be falling apart, bad touchpad, just bad all over.. I'd much rather have a Dull laptop... And I don't even like them anymore!
-
I still remember those Dell commercials with the retarded blond kid that would say "dude, you're getting a Dell"...need I say more?
-
Spied on Ebay.... Don't have $ to buy myself at present, but some of you might want them...

They're the mythical media-bay battery pack for CF28's and CF29's.
Craig. -
sunrk...Yup! and he will charge you like heartlandsi for shipping and handling plus brokerage fee from UPS like no tommorow.
teo -
As ohlip says that seller has no idea how much it costs the buyer in the end
I’m surprised that a seller who sells a lot of toughbook products has no regard on the final price a non-usa buyer has to pay for an item
That item would cost me double what the listing cost is because of brokerage charges
If they used usps it would be ½ extra

Regarding the Ebay traffic thing, I started running an industrial equipment site with a half a million of gear for a guy and we have had practically zero traffic. Less than $2000 in 4 months. His phone traffic has been almost that bad. The people he does business with have been idling and scrimping.
-
I think someone here bought one of these and said it was almost dead when he got it. I'm pretty sure it was from Horizon. I have bought several things from them and they are always 50/50... Sometimes you get them... Sometimes they get you.
-
Good feedback on horizon, Ill probably avoid buying from them now. I've always been sketchy on why they refuse to provide actual photos of what they sell, they arent very helpful over email either
-
Sometimes they do have deals though... But you have to know that it may now be exactly what you wanted. If you buy from them expecting the worst... Sometimes you are pleasantly surprised! I've bought several parts from them and a few laptops when they had the Make Offer thing going on early on.
But I could swear that someone said they bought a media bay battery from them and that it came in the new box but it must have been sitting on a shelf for years because it wouldn't charge properly... Or wouldn't hold a charge... Heck... I gotta find that thread now... -
Hey Rob... This is for ebay specials... You had me all excited man!
Actually we should start a new thread for "Rugged News" or something like that... That would be perfect. -
Sorry Rick I don't know where to put it
... I'll start a rugged news thread
-
Hey guys look at this one. I can get it for 2K. Watcha think?

I would expect to get a really good deal nowdays
So I would want to pay $1400 max for those options
That is a digitizer model, Is that what you want or do you prefer the touchscreen model?
If you are in the market for a cf-19 I will keep a lookout for one for you and PM you the details

BAM: item no.230329416355
230329415665
230329414516
Good Luck.
ohlip -
Yeah... A little high priced....
Toyo... Can't you filter out the options and post them instead of posting a book about the CF-19?
The 5 minutes it took me to read that... You know I don't get those back, right?
-
I bought one of the mobo units from this guy and its in the mail. So far he sems pretty good!
-
Rick
Why would you even bother reading all that
I just scrolled to the botom of the page
I wished that he would of listed the full model #
Then it would of been a mystery and I would of looked up the model on the panasonic site
Alex -
I didn't read all that... I was only joking!
-
I have a special form you can fill out to get back time wasted on the internet. Shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours, but I guarantee you get the wasted time back.

Emissive keyboard for 29/30- one of the best prices I've seen- so much so I broke down and bought the first one out of 5.
Visit Here -
Thanks for that mrbungle... Just what I was looking for....Nice
-
Thanks! I snagged one also...
-
That is the lowest price I have seen in a while... But I thought I was taken advantage of when I paid $150 for one...
-
I purchased one as well...
I don't see them for sale less than $250 or so lately and it’s a Canadian seller
Alex -
I think $150 for any keyboard is crazy. Yet I paid more than that for one- so what does that make me?
They went really quick.
Also, I just came back from the State radio shop to drop off some portables, and the tech had a Dell XFR D630. It was actually really nice. It had good hinges and was all rubberized. The best part was the wider screen than the Panasonics. I wish I had a wider screen. -
The screen is the ONLY thing I miss about my Dell Inspiron 9100. Other than that it was a cheap POS. All the parts wear off the color and I kept on having to buy more new/used pats to keep it looking nice instead of the junk that it was..
-
Yeah theres a guy around my department that uses a dell and its always getting scraped up and cracking its a major durability POS, that statement reminded me exactly of his lol
-
I am missing out on all the deals. If I didn't have to work 7 days a week I could have time to wheel and deal. Save some for me.
-
You will be busy on refreshing all day to see a good deal and grab right away. Sometimes in a few seconds its gone. yah! that fast.
ohlip -
Well we will all be broke before long
And then we will be selling all the stuff we got the good deals on so we can keep buying more stuff for good deals
Thats when you can buy from us some of the stuff that we found good deals on
Hopefully we will be making a profit on it as you work 7 days a week lol

I'm emailing the guy about this weird model number because it is one digit short. If I think it's actually legit I might get it... -
