80 Gig. hitachi travelstar 7200 rpm hard drive shipped for about $80. This will work for a cf-28 correct?

-
Yes sir it will... And you better buy it now... Or I will!
That's a pretty good price! -
Mine is already in the mail. He relisted it so he must have a few. Just wanted to pass it on.
-
Not a bad deal, still would be sketchy buying from Horizon tho
-
Connor,
How's he gonna screw you on a brand new 0 hour machine?
CAP -
Hey Cap,
Would you be interested in my CF-29 sled with GPS if I bought the one that ohlip has (bluetooth, WWAN and GPS)? I would be nice to just plug and play with all three. -
Ummm... I see he doesn't note what portion, if any, remains on the factory warranty... I don't believe Panasonic's warranty is transferable, though I do understand they're pretty good about honoring the warranty on any unit registered for the first time, be it to the "original buyer" or not. I wonder what their proof of purchase requirements are - a lot of manufacturers are denying warranty on ANY purchase made on eBay, even new in sealed packaging.
As far as I'm concerned, loss of factory warranty makes loss of 1/3 to 1/2 the value of ANY electronics or computer equipment; the old adage of "Once you plug it in it's worth half what you paid for it." now reads "Once you cut the seal on the box, etc".
I know, I was on the wrong end of that phenomenon a couple times. Fortunately I got lucky and had no failures, so got my money's worth in usage.

WARRANTEE?!?! WE DON'N NEED NO STEENKEENG WARRANTEES! -
It may not be as described, service may be poor, communication? All those can qualify as getting "Screwed" No reason to bash anyone's sales though, lets just leave it as that
-
Connor-
Oh, frell - we weren't talking about THIS sale in particular; just speculatin' on how one COULD get screwed on a "zero hour machine".
mnem
Then there's Mary McLavery... she's got her own aviary... -
This guy still has 1 backlit 29/30 keyboard up for $175. I know the other 4 were bought from forum members. I got one of them.
Those keyboards are for the PDRC external keyboards, they will work on your CF-29 but if you look close they have unlabeled function keys.
-
Here's a great deal for a loaded CF-19 on Craigslist:
http://detroit.craigslist.org/sys/1036989782.html
Somebody needs to hop on this one! -
One just sold on the Denver, CO craigslist here for $900 and it had almost the same specs. Not bad....
-
I am working on a near new CF-52 for $600 off Craigslist. It is getting to be a good source and at good prices...better than eBay!
-
Hey guys -
Newegg's ShellShocker for today is

urm... it's SATA, not IDE.
-
So?
We have Toughbooks with SATA; also, we have members of the forum who have OTHER laptops with SATA, or may want a good, cheap drive to slap into a USB enclosure.
mnem
urm... Slurm? -

Item # 250384643871 CF-18 Pentium M 1.1GHz(Centrino), 10.4" XGA Transmissive with Digitizer, 40GB HDD, 256MB RAM, Intel 802.11b+g WLAN, GPS, Dual pass through antenna, Win XP Tablet PC
-
Ohlip already posted this...
-
All he posted was the item number, not the specs. If you go to the configurator and put in the model, it cannot be found. Put it in manually and those are the specs that come up. Just trying to make it easier for the folks!
-
Ahhh, sorry
-
I was hunting XP tablet PC once. Is it worth it? What extras does it have?
-
Man thats a good deal except the fact its pretty hard to find a CF-18 hard drive and caddy right? I just ordered a complete one without GPS and some wear on the case for $369 on another ebay auction, but the GPS woulda been nice = (
-
FYI, It has a harddrive caddy only missing is the harddrive.
ohlip -
Read toughbooks posts on reinstalling xppro on a digitizer cf-18
He had no problems on the touchscreen, but the digitizer is a real pain on getting all the features working
The standard gps would be nice , and its a good price but there is so many choices on the market, and if "ohlip" did not buy them all up well its just not that good of a deal
Alex -
A digitizer model with no hard drive or caddy... That's no stinking deal... Believe me!
-
It does include the caddy, just no hard drive. Plus it would be nice to have the built in GPS. I have put in a bid for $325, if I get it fine, if not, that's fine also.
-
Do we know which key is missing from the very hard to find keyboard?
CAP -
The problem is that the one in the picture is not necessarily the one you will get. Even so, I could not see any missing on that one. I think they said it was the "J" and the "K" keys.
-
I hear this is a hard to find keyboard but how much is a new keyboard from heartland, anyone know? Just curious I have an 18 coming too
-
There is a keyboard for a CF-18 on eBay now that is in Australia and they wanted $35 + shipping (around $25).
-
I just got a quote from them... I want to say $65 or thereabouts... Plus Their exorbinate shipping costs!
But then that is normal!
-
Yeah thats not too bad but yes they take that broomstick and.....well nevermind about the shipping costs.....why is it so much anyway? They only ship overnight?
-
I know someone out there will think this is a great deal, how is this:

Hmmmm....
Aside from the decidely piscene odor emanating from this eBay seller's listing... doesn't something look wrong about this connector?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Panasonic-Cf-28...0|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
mnem
I'm not a grunion. -
Mnem... That is actually the correct connector... It is just missing the rubber pull tab that goes on the end. I bought a few of those a while back from Heartland for like $25 each I think....
-
Mmmmhmmmm... I was just looking at the pic; it doesn't seem that the MOBO end of the ribbon is "deep" enough to have that connector still there... it seems too "flat", as if the connector had been torn off the ribbon...
mnem
"Deeper..." "flatter..." "You have nice eyes...?" -

Might not be a bad deal if you have ATT, 4 hours to go and only $61 -
LOL.... I guess the forum has made the big-time. The seller is linking back to US to answer some bidder's questions about using the sled for GPS...
mnem
Link me, BAYBEE! -
Hah! I didn't even see that, Toughbook was right we should chill out in here with the good deals too many people are paying attention to this now, it's gonna ruin it for everyone
-
The seller is a member here. And chilling out would be a good idea.
