2014 Razer Blade 14 Ship Date thread

Does Razer support have a reputation for rudeness? My device was delayed with no explanation, I sent off an email to Razer support asking about the Australian devices and delays etc, waited a few days, got a 2 sentence reply that virtually said nothing, "It should not be as bad as America". So I sent one back asking them to clarify whether that meant further delays, what batch I might be in etc.

In a few hours I received a response basically saying they had already informed me that the date is subject to change (which they hadn't), that comparatively other purchasers are waiting patiently (implying I shouldn't be emailing them questions) and if I don't like it, cancel your order. This isn't really what I was expecting after a $3800 investment and a simple email asking questions .

 

I would say case of the Mondays but...

They do so far with me. Screw their customer support.

 

Just re-listened to the message they left and indeed the $145 is for taxes owing (not duties as I previously reported). I live in NS so that would be our HST.

Probably the best course of action, nothing is going to change the date it arrives. I think they just didn't have a great handle on exactly when availability was going to be in the beginning due to outside factors. They told me 5/23 when I ordered a 512 yesterday so I'm not expecting anything for a month. If I get it sooner, great.

The constant flux was making people angry in the beginning, and let's be realistic, pre orderers and early adopters are typically the people that rage when they don't get something the minute is released. Patience is not a virtue in that camp.

 

my release date still says 4/29. We cant really make them get to the warehouse any faster.

 

Look at it this way. If it ships on the 29th and you ordered one day, it'll be here before mine that shipped on the 23rd.

I've actually had a great experience with them so far. You just have to recognize the pressure they're under, understand what they can and can't do, and remind patient and polite, just like you always should with customer service. It's not their fault that the laptop is delayed, and getting mad at them doesn't help anyone.

Does anyone's ordered on 17th the March has been shipped yet? Mine is still stuck on "order in process", and ask the CS on this Thursday, but still didn't get any replies, getting so worried.

 

Mine still says scheduled for Monday delivery, but I noticed it arrived at the Fedex location overnight and says "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". Soooo will I magically get a Saturday delivery even tho it still says Monday? or is it loaded on the truck ready for Monday morning? I read on Fedex.com that fedex Home Delivery does include Saturdays. I don't remember ever getting a Saturday delivery before though. I do get Fedex smartpost or Fedex ground more often though so not sure. Uhg, waiting all day and not getting anything is killing me! Would be much better to get today since I will be at work Monday and will have to ask that they leave it somewhere.

 

If it's on the truck for delivery it's very likely it's out for delivery.

my question is what does the collective think my wait time will be if I just got order in yesterday for two 256 14" machines...today is 4/26/14... I know I know, it is worth laughing at me for being so late ordering... thanks in advance and thanks for all info here... ya'll is good people...

 

I did. My order is still 'order in process', but it bugs me that they told me it was due to be shipped on the 25th, yet it didn't come. And they tell you they'll update you if it gets delayed but they never really do.

So I just ordered from Razer as well. Now I have an order on Amazon and one on Razer. 5/23 is the ship date. I guess I'll start bugging customer support next week to confirm that I will get it before 5/29 (got 1-2 day shipping).

 

I am guessing that you mean mid-May...

yeah, noticed that...in red it says "after the 5/23/14 release date. Just wasn't sure if that was likely accurate or not... thanks

 

Update: blade 256gb in possesion. It feels just a touch thicker and heavier in the hand, but still a very svelte machine. The screen resolution is much better, as are viewing angles. The glare is also much more noticeable, but hey... that was expected.

Touch screen is hilarious, works fine, hope to never use it.

Downloaded crystalmark and currently downloading titanfall on origin and Metro LL on steam. will wait to do the ssd tests until the downloading is over.

Downloading and idle otherwise the machine is as quiet as the other blade. Will give you some shots later.

Scaling issues aren't too bad so far. The origin login is comically small on this screen, but acutally i kind of like it as it is much less intrusive that way.

Viewing angles are much better, as are the colors. So far it feels very close to the 2013 blade ( which is a good thing as I have really enjoyed that machine) but with subtle tweaks that have been all for the better so far.

I have an IR heat gun so will also do some real world temps and such on games later when they have downloaded and I get some time.

 

What date did people need to order to get into the second wave? I ordered on Amazon on March 23rd and got an email on Friday:

I was happy to spend the money but I'm pretty close to just cancelling the whole thing and giving my 2300 to a competitor.

 

You're the man, sounds great! Definitely looking forward to the benchmarks/heat/noise. It sounds like the machine rocks. So I can't wait to get mine.

 

First of all you should have ordered it off Razer cause it will be faster and the next wave is the coming Tuesday I believe. This batch should include the 512gb versions as well.

 

what about the keyboard and touchpad? are they the same as the old edition or did they mod it a bit?

 

Won't help, they have no idea past the 5/23 estimate im sure. I would try closer to that date like 5/14..

Oh rly. Why are there 256's floating about. When they ship, I wonder if they ship maybe 500-1000 out or what seems to be 10. Idk at this point. I'm just talking.

 

True. If the 256GB was the most popular order Then it may just be possible that they shorted fast. I'd definitely just let Razer know. Maybe you can score some free 1 day shipping out of them or something,
