Oh god. I didn't mean to spark a heart attack. Calm down buddy. All I was implying was that if you could justify paying for this honestly high-end toy, its worth the wait. I do feel bad for those who sold their previous device to afford this one though.

And I wasn't implying that this should be accepted as the norm, but this happens all the time with pre-ordered niche devices, so claims that this never happens is a little ridiculous.

If its too much to wait I'm sure Razer would cancel your order. There are a slew of new devices on the horizon which fit the same niche.

I emailed them asking for an update about 3 weeks ago and I was told that my ship date was going to be May 23rd. When I responded and asked why it was going to be pushed back again, I got a response that said it will be shipped out on May 9th. I dont think that their customer service reps know anymore about whats going on than we do. So, until I see a tracking # I wont be convinced that it will be shipped on a given date.

This will be the last time I buy a laptop from them. I'll try out the competition next time and let you guys know how it goes.

Did Razer CS give you a ship date before the 9th? Or were your earlier expected dates announced in the red "will ship after release date of..." Message on your order?

They gave me 2 dates prior to 9th May and after that Razer CS 100% confirmed that my Blade will be shipped 9th May. Now they are delaying it again and said that it will be shipped 100% on 14th May.

    Morning Gents,

    Here's what I got today ...

" Thank you for ordering from the RazerStore. As indicated during checkout, one or more of the products you ordered is currently unavailable and cannot be shipped. You will receive an email notification when your order has been shipped.
The new Razer Blade - 512GB : null
The item(s) in your order will only ship once all item(s) are ready for shipment.
You may check the status of your order here.
If you chose to pay by credit card, your credit card has been pre-authorized for payment but you will not be charged until your order actually ships. If you pre-paid using an alternate payment method, we will hold your funds until your order ships. If you do not wish to wait, you may cancel your order at any time by contacting our Customer Support team.."

    - the very first order status update from Razer.

And now my order status page has changed from "Order Submitted" to "Order in Process" and the red message banner is no longer there ... o_O

This is what happened to everyone else, I believe, when the first batch of 128s and 256s were shipped. Have we seen more than one or two batches going out for them? I've had the same "order in process" for a month or so now.

Really hoping some of the 512s get theirs this week ... You guys are saints for waiting this long on such a high ticket item.

What competition? That I'm aware of, there are only two - the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K edition and the Lenovo Y50. I don't believe the Ghost Pro is shipping and Lenovo has no order page for the 3k version of the Y50.

I would understand the threat more if there was actual competition, but so far there doesn't appear to be any substantial difference between Razer, MSI, and Lenovo with respect to availability.

I get the frustration. I pre-ordered a 512GB model the day it was announced, not even two hours after announcement and I'm still waiting. Historically, though, it's better to wait now than try to hunt a unit down three or four months from now. I paid with a credit card. Razer doesn't get my money until they ship, so I wait.

    Keyword - "next time"

Technology changes rapidly year by year. By the time I get a new laptop, there will be different options. I might not even care for the form factor at that point. Who knows? I'll probably avoid a Razer Laptop though.

    So what?

You're posting in the ship date thread. The implication is that you are upset about the shipping delay. You've said you won't order from Razer again and that you'll try another manufacturer/vendor.

What is your basis for this proclamation? There is zero competition at this time. No other company is shipping what Razer has shipped.

All I can reply to is your implied dissatisfaction with Razer. If you are not dissatisfied, by all means clarify your original post.

It's a non sequitur to believe that just because Razer's competitors haven't pushed substitute products into market availability yet means that he should be satisfied with poor customer service.

Whether or not another company is shipping a product of equal competition is irrelevant. Being promised a specific release date at the time of purchase and having that date extended several times since that time is justification enough to be upset. It's not about the product. Its about the service from the company. He did not implicate that he was dissatisfied with Razer, he said so, and there very well could be competition come next time. Razer's support has been laughable at best through this entire process and to say otherwise is a blatant lie. Personally, I will either not pre order from Razer again, or as he stated, I will check out what the competition has to offer before putting myself through this whole charade again.

I'm not saying that it is a problem to express dissatisfaction over the order delays. I am saying that stating one will go with the competitor when there isn't any is an empty threat to make.

This is the fifth time I have gone down this road with Razer. I bought knowing full well there would be delays. I have yet to see any competition spring up in the past three years that can do any better.

Just because your preferences just happen to align with their products don't mean that it's true for everyone. If you cared a bit less about portability and more about customization then a sager or something would be far superior. Likewise, there are tradeoffs between soon-to-be released products like the msi ghost.
He also said he would go with the competition next time, implying that he will weigh other options much more heavily than Razer... I don't see a problem with that.

As an early adopter, I'm used to shipping delays. This is nothing - if they ship this month, I'll be happy. If you are not satisfied with the wait, my advice would be to not be an early adopter anymore. Otherwise this will happen to you again and again. It doesn't matter what company, they all have delays.

To be honest the only reason why I am sticking to this Laptop now is that the Design and form factor is superior to the competitors. Additionally the battery life seems to be better but with the Ghost Pro coming to the market, I think that other companies understand that there is a market for thin and powerful Laptops. Once the battery life improves on the competitor laptops I would have zero regret for switching over. This will be for sure the last product I will buy from Razer. Also their peripherals are meh since competitors make superior products.

The reason I am holding out is because I have already waited almost 2 months so it would be a huge waste to cancel at this point. I wont say that I will never purchase another Razer item, but this whole ordeal will definitely leave a bad taste in my mouth for a long time. Honestly though, unless Razer comes out with some amazing product that cannot be found anywhere else then this will probably be the last time I buy from them.

What I would love to understand is why when asked (in a very nice manner mind you) if there is a ship date for my order would they say yesterday after looking up my order if it in fact was not shipped yesterday... How does this keep happening with them?

been following the posts in this thread and this comment is probably the most truthful in every sense people complaining like idiots when they can just wait for the product to be available and in stock in the store instead of pre ordering and expecting everything to go perfect and without delays wake up even a massive company like apple had stock shortages on their iphone launches people had to wait weeks to get their shiny new iPhones.

Your best resort is cancel your pre order and wait for it to be available and in stock at the store enough said!

The issue is not as much about the constant and lengthy delay, it's the communication surrounding it, it's important not to mix the two when discussing people's dissatisfaction.

This. Me too, been pre-ordering laptops for many years and there is nothing unique here with my Razer order. Same delays, and long "ship date threads" happened to me with Alienware's first SLI laptop (9000 something? Don't recall the name), M15x, first m11x, so on. I find it exciting this many other notebook geeks like me all get together and share the anticipation.

Welcome to the world of early adapters folks =)

For crying out loud! Stop comparing current products to products that will be available in the future! Predict for me what products will be available for me in the next 2-3 years; can you? You obviously can from not understanding "next time". It means "not now" - do you seriously need explanation what that means? Yeah, my experience with their pre-order is not good. Why did the 128 and 256 get released and 512gb get left in the dark? It's not back-ordered and no news on the topic. Delays are delays, but you don't keep someone in the dark

I think the 512 are "in-stock" right now and they are filling orders from the backorder queue. At midnight tonight some people might get shipment notifications. Once they run through stock the store goes back to showing pre-order like the 128 and 256 show right now.

Why is this not reassuring? Hahaha.

I see; so this means that maybe even if you placed an order right now and they run out of stock fulfilling back orders, you'd go in the queue, correct? This is also not reassuring for some reason... hmmm... Not sure if I want to pull the trigger.

I ordered from amazon on march 31... and the date kept being pushed back. It is June 10 now..

BUT! a friend noticed it on the Microsoft Store. I ordered the 256 last night and it already shipped :)

the 128gig was out of stock, but the 256 and the 512 were not out of stock (ie, add to cart button)

I had to pull it from my history. Yesterday you could find it via search on the site (but not listed either under razer or laptops).
Sadly i can't find the 512gig in my history :(

I placed an order for one. I even got my student discount, $2176 after discount with next day shipping. We'll see if its the right model when it gets here.

After the 128 GB was pushed out to 5/23 and the delays until 5/9 and 5/14 for the other models, this is a really interesting development.

Which one did you order? I ordered the 128GB from Razer (also got student discount) and it's delayed till at least 5/23. Are you saying it'll come sooner from Microsoft? They give student discount too?

I ordered the 256GB model linked a few posts ago from the Microsoft Store, and yes they have a 10% student discount on all laptops. The page does show the item as in stock and my order is already processing and my card has been charged, so they're very likely shipping SOMETHING to me soon. I just hope it's the intended model.

You have to sign up through the eduation page on the Microsoft Store to get the discount by choosing your school. When you checkout you'll have to go through a verification process (I did not since my account is the same one I have setup on DreamSpark). Then the laptop appears on the page and in your cart with the discount already applied.

Warning: The checkout process did not work properly in Google Chrome, so I had to do it through Internet Explorer.

I jumped on the 256GB Razer Blade from Microsoft as well. Its kind of annoying because I paid $212.52 more than the 128GB from Razer. Since I have no intention of keeping the stock SSD in there, it seems like a waste. But (1) who knows when the 128GB will be available, (2) by purchasing from the Microsoft Store, I get an additional 4 Ultimate Rewards (Chase points) per dollar spent (you can get 10% cash back if you prefer, which would give you $235.83 back, see the full list here), and (3) I can always try selling the stock SSD.

ETA: I haven't cancelled my order from Razer so if Microsoft is bluffing I can always fallback on that.

Yeah, I'm not cancelling any of my orders until I have one on hand.

Can anyone who ordered with Microsoft see the order in their order history? Mine is showing only a purchase from a month ago. I did get a confirmation email though

Ugh...so tempting to order from Microsoft if I can get it in the next couple of days, but I would have to pay around $200 extra in tax. I wonder if this means Amazon will be getting them soon. I've had one pre-ordered since April 7th.
