Eh... I don't know if it's that simple. As you said, the order is processing. My order has been processing from Razer for quite some time. Razer also charged my card (it shows up as a pending charge, but so does Microsoft's). I believe it when I get the shipping confirmation.
-
Well, it was good while it lasted. How long ago did you order?
-
Wow, ms just called me to confirm the order. They said it ships tomorrow

Did you give them a contact number? I'm wondering if they tried to call you too and maybe cancelled because they couldn't get through.
-
Uch... No reception in my apartment. Please god do not let them cancel this thing!
-
About 4 PM eastern.
It had my info already when I logged into my Microsoft account. I just double checked and the number is correct! I'm calling them now. They charged my card already so I know that's not a problem...

Not sure if its been posted or not but the 512GB RB 2014 is showing as in stock on Razer's website.
-
Thats good news. Sounds like all of the pre order 512's have been fulfilled and they had more leftover.
-
I am trying the Microsoft store. I expect Razer will probably have finally shipped my 512GB today but oh well.
The Microsoft store has several advantages, Microsoft Complete seems pretty amazing for the price. The same warranty from SquareTrade is $200 more and they use ground shipping while Microsoft Complete is overnight. The Microsoft store might actually ship now while I wouldn't be surprised if Razer is another month of delays. I wanted the 512GB but I can get the 256GB, swap it, and use the 256GB in an external USB drive for basically the same price. Throw in some credit card rewards and the savings from the warranty and it is a much better deal.
Plus, I get the cancel my Razer store order because they have been jerking me around for 2 months.
Just another note, all these digital stores run by Digital River suck. I really hate Digital River, they just do an abysmal job with order management and fulfillment. -
I just chatted with Microsoft Store Support and was informed that they only carry the New Razer Blade 256GB model. The link provided a couple pages ago works and appears in stock. Oddly, if you search for Razer Blade, or navigate through their site to 'all devices', you will not find the Razer Blade. I informed them of this and they said to use the link I provided, lol. If I had pre-ordered a 256GB and not a 512GB I would be steaming knowing I could just order it today and have it tomorrow from the Microsoft Store while the OEM Store still makes you wait for pre-ordering.
-
Hmm, it would seem that way. However, if one places it in the cart it says in red letters BACK ORDER :-(
-
When I spoke to someone at MS they seemed convinced that there weren't any left in stock, 256 nor 512 gb versions...
-
That's odd - I just chatted and was told that the 256GB was in stock....
Well, we home school, and it seems that makes us eligible for the education discount, so I've ordered myself a 256GB from MS and sent an email to cancel the Razer order....
We'll see what happens
-
Noticed that too. Would be nice if they COULD just get back to me already, so I could cancel and check for other laptops.
-
Did they give you a ship date yet?
Of course, the more people move over to the MS Store to get the laptop, less people end up getting one... or something like that. -
No, my card is charged though...will update if it goes through....
-
I have not ordered anything yet but I am really interested in this one. I am one of those guys who wants instant gratification once I pull the trigger, which is bad for me and I need to learn patience. My previous game laptop (if you can call it a true gaming laptop) is a Samsung series 7 Chronos which has served well this last year. I do look forward to small form factor, SSD and better graphics. Only thing I wish I could change on this razer is for it to have 16gb memory.
My hope is that once the initial crush of orders are fulfilled they will get enough in the channel that I can order and have it shipped over night. -
Just spoke with Microsoft's Customer Support, and I asked them if they were in stock, and if they were available to be shipped tomorrow. The representative said yes to both questions.
I cancelled my order and plan on ordering from MS. -
I am trying to do this now and get an educational discount.
EDIT: Can someone link the Razer Blade microsoft store page? I am trying to find it and the Rep can't find it either. -
Nice. Thanks. Would like to know if that works out well. Might convince more people (read: ME) to do the same, lol.
Might also try customer service with MS again some other time. Maybe they just blatantly lied to me. I feel like they don't have a code of honour... or understand what customer service means. -
How did you get the educational discount? Just ask for it? & I can't seem to find the Blade online through the MS store, could you help me find it?
EDIT: Found it. Now I am trying to see if the MS Rep actually has it in stock or not, and if so, if I can get the educational discount. Then I need to cancel my Razer order if I can. -
Buy Razer Blade Touchscreen Gaming Laptop RZ09-0116 256GB - Microsoft Store
In the page where you select your state, I had an option in my state to choose Home Teaching - Elementary that the rep told me I should use. I may have to prove it before the order is processed though.
We'll see.... -
Lets see if a college email will work!
EDIT: I am eligible for the Educational 10% discount, brining the cost of the 256gb variant down to $2139 or so. Am I eligible to cancel my Razer order and go through Microsoft? The Rep said it is in stock and will ship soon if I purchase through them... I placed my Razer order a week ago or so and have had no shipping information. -
Well, for all those still patiently waiting, Engadget has a review up...
Razer Blade review (2014): a 'no-compromise' premium gaming laptop -
Just received the following email from Razer. I ordered my 512GB on March 15th. Here's hoping it's correct:
"Thanks for contacting Razer Support. I looked up your order in our shipping list, and it shows that your order will be fulfilled on May 9th. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please let us know if you have any other questions in a reply to this e-mail, and have a great day. " -
Jumped ship to MS and couldn't be happier after Razer's CS

Update:
Called up Razer, cancelled my order no-problem. Went to Microsoft and placed an order (with my Georgetown University email) with a 10% discount. Got 2-day shipping and the total came out to roughly $2290 for the 256GB variant (a HUGE savings from the $2600 that I spent at Razer and would be waiting for weeks). Talked to a MS rep and she said it should ship by tomorrow and be at my home by Friday. Can't wait! -
Well if you live near San Francisco, this Friday night May 9th from 6 PM to midnight Razer is throwing a Blade Launch at the Microsoft Store in Union Square. You can bet they will have a certain number of all three models on hand. Highly probably you can show up Friday night and walk out with a new Blade.
-
Which number for Razer did you call? I want to call rather than email to get it cancelled before they ship.
-
For any other Canadians in this forum, I just checked Best Buy Canada and the New Razer Blade and Razer Blade Pro have magically disappeared again from the website. Even the left hand links for Razer are now gone.
MS Store Canada doesn't have any Razer Laptops at the moment, and the US Microsoft store won't ship to Canada. Oh well, I'll stick with the 512GB as I'm a data hoarder anyway. -
Here you go....
US: 855-872-5233
They were NOT INDIAN too! This is their CA support line I believe. Helpful, funny, and smart people. -
Nope. Spoke with another person, and they insist it's out of stock. Weiiiiiirrrrd.
-
Make sure you explain it is the 2014 model. I had the same issues and had to give them a link to the product in an email because they could only find the older 2013 one...
-
Lol
One more shot I guess... -
A tip: Place the Blade in your cart, then look over to the right side of the screen and give them the order# so they can see it through that. The Rep told me that they were available through online order only and not verbal order over the phone.
-
Microsoft called and confirmed my order. I am told it should be here by Thursday.
Pretty slick deal, all told I got some nice credit card rewards, saved $200 on my extended warranty, and get the laptop on Thursday rather than in 2-12 weeks.
Downside is I wanted the 512GB, but I will just plan to upgrade the drive and then I get a free 256GB drive out of the deal and likely a better performing 512. -
He confirmed it this time, thank goodness. I think I'll do that, but probably not 'til tomorrow. I sent an email earlier today to Razer asking about a final date, they haven't responded so far smh, and I can't call them anymore.
Yeah, that's what I'll probably end up doing as well. I'll be in the UK, so I couldn't care for the warranty so much if swapping them out voids it.eric335 likes this. -
If people ordering from microsoft today get theirs before my 512 i ordered almost 2 months ago i swear to god im going to explode.
-
To be fair, Microsoft doesn't have the 512GB version. From what I have gathered, Razer is also shipping out the 256GB version.
But ordering from the Microsoft Store is better than ordering from Razer store because of the aforementioned bonuses (credit card points/cash back, warranty, easier to get education discount). -
i guess your right
still starting to get grumpy from waiting so long
-
there is always a better deal. you just have to stick to your guns. or be lazy
and be like the rest of modern society. -
Im just gonna sit back a wait. I could understand people jumping ship if they sold their current computer to afford the Blade but since im just getting it for college in august two weeks doesnt really mean much fore me.
-
I mostly like it for accidental. I was going to get SquareTrade but this is so much cheaper and includes accidental damage. You never know when some freak thing might happen to your laptop, for $200 it is absolutely worth it to not worry about accidents for 2 years. If I ever need to get it serviced I will swap in the old SSD, which I would want to do anyway to retain the data on my main drive.
-
What about the education discount? That's what sold me. If you create your college email (which most universities have given out) then you can get some sweet savings.
I might go back and order this insurance.... Seeing that I will be in college with the laptop, who knows what will happen lol -
And really won't matter in your senior year (unless you expect 4 year miracles here). Enjoy college! Then join the rest of us =)
-
My university (Georgia Tech) doesn't send them out for about another month when you register for orientation/get your housing confirmed. Plus, the Blade is a combo graduation gift from my Parents and both of my sets of Grandparents so I'm not really feeling the financial pain.
-
Thanks man I'm really excited to run "Engineering Programs" on my laptop XDSickbeard likes this.
-
Yeah. That's what I do right now. TOTALLY.
And seeing as I'm graduating (knock on wood) in less than 2 weeks, I obviously need a replacement machine (for my desktop) that can handle all the... "engineering programs"... that I might "need" in my future "career". -
im really excited to take notes man. yeah!!!!
