Hmmm... well, that production order does make sense viewing it that way. I expected the prioritization would follow more towards FIFO. I expected something like:

    First batch:
    200 128s
    200 256s
    5 512s

    Second batch:
    200 128s
    200 256s

I don't know anything about production, so I guess I'm just ill informed on the matter.

"people are getting them regardless of when they ordered from" - It was more the point of view from someone who ordered 512gb . Orders that were placed after 3/12 are getting fulfilled first while it seem like absolutely no 512gb versions were fulfilled.

Well, in a typical "Good, Better, Best" scenario, the "Better" option (256GB) is at the top of the bell curve.

Most likely they just couldn't source the 512GB drives in quantity as easily.

I too ordered the 512GB minutes after reading the news on 3/12. I think Razer is smart enough to use that FIFO process that xerojin had mentioned, otherwise it may take a long time before those of us who ordered the 512GB version actually get the laptop. I think the likeliest scenario is that they just don't have the 512GB hard drives on hand, at least this is what I'm hoping is the reason. I've sent 5 emails to their customer support team, I keep getting back boilerplate responses with no detail as to what is causing the delay.

And why not? many of us are reading and posting about our new computers that we do not even have yet, while at work :)

Hopefully this link works, you can see some info on the 256 (and possibly the 128 and 512 IF they are of the same family). I really wanted to see the physical dimensions more than anything. I'm assuming it's 80mm long at this point.

The drive in there is definitely SATA. Still unclear on the upgrade possibility. But I doubt PCIe is possible based on the good point made by the guy in the wish list thread (PCIe 3 lanes are all used up).

Could you please give us an exact date on when the 512gb version of the Blade will be shipped? I am very disappointed that only the 128gb and 256gb versions have been shipped.

Wow, I appreciate the direct response. But seriously the only emails I've received are copy-paste " Unfortunately, your order is still in production and will be completed as soon as possible" email. The question is why is it still in production while other folks are receiving their laptops today?

SSD is definately in SATA 3 mode. The bios has a RAID option. I unfortunately don't have any PCI-E M.2 Drive to test out. They are nearly impossible to buy online.
I'll take it apart once i get home. I'll try an post pics for you guys even though I have a early flight tomorrow.

As we receive updated ETA's each customer is notified via email or the Razer Store order status page. I am unable to comment/speculate on the reason why certain SSD sizes have shipped and not others. Please watch your inbox for updates.

I pre-ordered the 512GB version on March 12th. On my order page I have the following:

This order will be shipped after the release date of 29/04/2014 for The New Razer Blade - 512GB.

    pic.JPG

So I guess it won't ship until, at the earliest, April 29th.

I hate being rude, but whomever posted those pictures didn't even take pictures of anything that mattered. I mean that could be a 2013 model for all we know. Jeesh. (edit* technically they showed the glossy screen so I know its a 2014, but still...)

What do you mean by 'checked my order status'? Was there a red text stating it was pushed to 5/9? I'm going to assume the status doesn't say 'Order in Process'. Sorry to hear that though...

Think of it as a blessing, we get to see all the information and reviews from the front of the line to get our own. We'll be the first to get them after the good reviews, or cancel and not have to go through the return process after the bad reviews.

    ... totally a blessing

Thank you so much for doing that for us. I think that looks like a good score for a stock 870, or at least it does to me.

Have you had any luck finding a 2nd SSD slot? The free portable program I linked to a couple pages ago HWinfo64 may be the easiest way to see if you can find 2 M.2 slots listed.

Here is the link again for ease, http://www.hwinfo.com/files/hw64_436.zip

You just download it, run the program (don't need to enable any sensors for doing this). I'm thinking under the "Bus" section is where you may find M.2 listed, and look for if there are 2 or just one in there. It may not be in that section, I'm just guessing since I don't have a laptop to try it out on.

Same boat. But when I called, they said it was actually 5/15. They also said it could be earlier. They have no clue. Logistics problems usually mean nobody knows anything. Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 were like this too with dates all over the place.

Dude, run MSI Afterburner and run your benchmark. There's graphs for heat GPU usage, GPU speed and memory speed. Pretty useful for a quick check.

On my 2nd screenshot (I added it after you looked at it the first time I bet) try clicking the "Port Connectors" right above the system slots and see if you can find 1 or 2 M.2 listed there somewhere. Seems like every connection on the motherboard is listed there.

I, too, am really interested to see how the fan noise is under a high load. Also curious how black levels and colors look on the screen. Are the blacks deep and do colors shift when looking at it from different angles? (big issue with last year's model) My 256gb is on route for delivery on Tuesday, can't wait! Also, thanks again for everything... I know you're getting slammed with questions and such but everyone is so excited to know more about it :D

The blacks are darker when looking straight on.

You can see colors start to shift if you move father than about 25 degrees to the left or right.
