Hmmm... well, that production order does make sense viewing it that way. I expected the prioritization would follow more towards FIFO. I expected something like:
First batch:
200 128s
200 256s
5 512s
Second batch:
200 128s
200 256s
I don't know anything about production, so I guess I'm just ill informed on the matter.
"people are getting them regardless of when they ordered from" - It was more the point of view from someone who ordered 512gb . Orders that were placed after 3/12 are getting fulfilled first while it seem like absolutely no 512gb versions were fulfilled.
-
Well, in a typical "Good, Better, Best" scenario, the "Better" option (256GB) is at the top of the bell curve.
Most likely they just couldn't source the 512GB drives in quantity as easily. -
I too ordered the 512GB minutes after reading the news on 3/12. I think Razer is smart enough to use that FIFO process that xerojin had mentioned, otherwise it may take a long time before those of us who ordered the 512GB version actually get the laptop. I think the likeliest scenario is that they just don't have the 512GB hard drives on hand, at least this is what I'm hoping is the reason. I've sent 5 emails to their customer support team, I keep getting back boilerplate responses with no detail as to what is causing the delay.

here is a teaser, the SSD is a Samsung MZNTE256HMHP :-D
I really shouldn't be playing on my new computer while i am at work. -

Hopefully this link works, you can see some info on the 256 (and possibly the 128 and 512 IF they are of the same family). I really wanted to see the physical dimensions more than anything. I'm assuming it's 80mm long at this point.

SSD is definately in SATA 3 mode. The bios has a RAID option. I unfortunately don't have any PCI-E M.2 Drive to test out. They are nearly impossible to buy online.
I'll take it apart once i get home. I'll try an post pics for you guys even though I have a early flight tomorrow. -
Thanks for all you folks who are taking photos and providing specs on your new machines.

As we receive updated ETA's each customer is notified via email or the Razer Store order status page. I am unable to comment/speculate on the reason why certain SSD sizes have shipped and not others. Please watch your inbox for updates.

Sorry for the wait. Here is everything I could "understand". lol
Also, 3dmark 11 "extreme" costs money...so you guys get benchmarks for the "trial" which is 720p.
Again, Sorry.

Edit: Also, after doing the 3dmark 11, the metal part that the power button rests on is SUPER hot. Like..you don't touch it for more than a few seconds, hot.Attached Files:

Thank you so much for doing that for us. I think that looks like a good score for a stock 870, or at least it does to me.
Have you had any luck finding a 2nd SSD slot? The free portable program I linked to a couple pages ago HWinfo64 may be the easiest way to see if you can find 2 M.2 slots listed.
Here is the link again for ease, http://www.hwinfo.com/files/hw64_436.zip
You just download it, run the program (don't need to enable any sensors for doing this). I'm thinking under the "Bus" section is where you may find M.2 listed, and look for if there are 2 or just one in there. It may not be in that section, I'm just guessing since I don't have a laptop to try it out on. -

Dude, run MSI Afterburner and run your benchmark. There's graphs for heat GPU usage, GPU speed and memory speed. Pretty useful for a quick check.

On my 2nd screenshot (I added it after you looked at it the first time I bet) try clicking the "Port Connectors" right above the system slots and see if you can find 1 or 2 M.2 listed there somewhere. Seems like every connection on the motherboard is listed there.

What's your take on the fan noise while benchmarks and games are running?

You can see colors start to shift if you move father than about 25 degrees to the left or right. -
Well that's a bit of a bummer.. still has to be better than last years model (which I'm giving to my wife). Oh well, I'll get to see it in person come Tuesday. Thanks for the response!

I'd love to test out some games, but I just don't have any games from this year or last year yet. I'm thinking TitanFall on my next paycheck. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Any word on the fan noise? the3rdm must feel like a rock star here, I am surprised he is the only one here who received one today
