    New Razer Blade & Razer Blade Pro

    Do you mean 512GB? The razer blade 14 does indeed have two drive bays and other users on this forum have posted pictures of the process. The drive that comes with the computer is an mSata SSD. You can add a second mSata SSD. It does void the warranty but it seems like razer can't tell the difference (no stickers or tape to break).

    Not sure what you mean by "port replicator". If you mean a docking station, unfortunately you can not dock this computer. The only ports on the computer are three USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI port.

    I'm not sure if this would fix the issue because it is a different laptop but you could try what is on this forum. Solved No Battery Indicator on my Acer

    Do you have a battery icon at all or is the percentage not coming up when you hover over the icon?

    Just pulled the trigger on the blade 14" model w/ 128gb ssd (got another 256 laying around that I will pop in).

    With a friend's student discount, came out to around 1600 bux. Seems like a pretty decent deal for the machine, only downside is the 3-4 week wait time listed on the site.

    Your friend wouldn't happen to be able to get another code would he? I would love to buy one, but i'm trying to find a student code because Canadian Universities are excluded from the program :(.

    It is one code for each .edu address. If I were you I would try to make a post on a message board or subreddit for one of the colleges on the participation list. For instance, go find a forum for georgia tech students and beg someone to snag you a key.

    My buddy is a post doc at Univ of Michigan. I live in the same town and her used MY name when he registered for the key, with his email address. You may get flagged if you use a student code from georgia and ship to Canada... that I don't know.

    I have ordered the 14" since 21st of July and still no update. I wish what you said is true and they are indeed shipping them today especially the 512GB version. my 512GB msata and a laptop case already arrived, but the main laptop? no -..- so I hope anyone that gets his 512GB delivered to let us know here in the forum. Thanks!

    I have the battery icon but it only shows the percentage, not the time remaining. I might buy an app called BatteryBar Pro, it seems like it uses a different method of calculating time remaining and hopefully it works. Odd that none of you guys are experiencing it, I thought it was a Win8 bug. I can't imagine it being a hardware issue since it shows up fine when I first got it.

    Anyone not had their 128Gb Razers shipped yet with estimated shipping for 14th? I had this in an email "We know you are on a deadline and will do everything we can to get your order shipped to you as soon as possible." It seems like others have had shipping conformation today already. If it doesn't ship today I guess I'll cancel and wait for a Gigabyte instead :cool:

    I am having the exact same issue. I think it may have been caused by one of the Microsoft updates although it is strange that very few people are experiencing this issue.

    Hmm, how can we locate what Microsoft driver is causing the issue?

    I tread online and for some people who couldn't get their battery meter to show up at all, they uninstalled the Microsoft ACPI-compliant Control Battery Method from device manager then rescanned hardware changes. I might try that tomorrow

    I seem to be getting an issue with the RBP. It doesn't restart after using it for an hour+. When I try to, the Blade just sits at the "Restarting" screen with that loading icon below it, I left it for a good 10 minutes and it still was at that screen, happened a couple of times now which meant I had to do a force-shut down and switch it back on again (which I know isn't good for the laptop, right?).

    Any ideas?

    Did a Windows Update just now hoping it'll fix it, somehow.

    Had to send my laptop back because a USB port wasn't working and the fans weren't always turning on when getting really hot. Back to waiting. :[

    I finally received an email last night about my Razer 14" 128gb shipping. Finally!!!! After 1 month and 3 days :). I hope it gets here in time before i head off to school. I hope everyone else got a shipping notification as well.

    Would anyone know what kind of paint is used on the Blades? I accidentally chipped a small (like, really small, but it's a chip nonetheless) area on the corner of my RBP. I'd like to try and paint that small area back to black, but wanted to try and find out what kind of paint/coloring material I should be looking for? Any help would be great.

    Is there still any possible hope that I can fix this on my own? I'm kinda OC about having that small chip there. It's looking just like a paint chip, not the actual material.

    Give them a call, in the event they can't Ill buy the code off you for like 30$ :D. Then atleast you get something.

    EDIT: If yours hasn't been processed, you could cancel and reorder, but that would lose your spot in line. Call them though.

    I think he's passed the processing part if he has already received it... But I really don't think razer would accept the code post-purchase unless specifically stated otherwise. If they did I can foresee a precedence set for a mass number of other owners to follow who recently had their schools added to the educational program.

    +1. No shipping notice yesterday. Up to 2 weeks now. Given a new order is supposedly running "2-3 weeks" behind according to the website, maybe I should have just ordered another? Is the 512G Pro (17") really in stock?

    Let me get something straight here guys, the 128gb RB is 3-4 weeks, while the 256gb doesn't have anything written and the 512gb says 5-7 business days. Does that mean the 256gb is in stock ready to ship??

    You mean a system restore? Or a hard reinstall? I've actually yet to find out how I can reinstall my Windows 8 without the CD. Lol.

    The restore option is available via the initial boot-up screen when you restart your Laptop

    I ordered a 256 on the 11th when it said 5-7 business days and it shipped on the 14th. I also noticed the 5-7 business days disappeared on the 13th I think so I assume the current batch is still in stock.

    I believe you are correct. This is partially due to razer releasing the 256GB earlier so that the hype is less on those vs the 128GB

    I decided to just go for the sharpee and hope for the best. Honestly, it's not bad at all. If it weren't for the actual chip marks, I would say it wouldn't even be noticeable. Here's the photo to where the scratch was after the sharpee, only clear if directly under light, it seems.

    I brought my Blade with me to bed to be able to watch movies and shows (never used to be able to do this with an AW 17 before, lol). While moving around, corner hit the wall. Didn't even think it was that hard and it was just paint transfer, sadly it hit harder than expected =/

    I'll find a way to get this fully fixed when I'm actually back home and know a few people :)

    Btw what is the brand/manufacturer of the ssd that razer put on the 14?

    What is the display/panel manufacturer? Is the display's matte screen grainy or is it very clear especially on white backgrounds???

    A Samsung PM841 256GB mSATA 6Gbps SSD according to anandtech and assuming razer is consistent in the components they use in manufacturing. My blade arrived at a friend's place and I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet so I wouldn't know about the screen. Anticipating whether the whole screen quality issue is as bad as some say is one of my biggest distresses at the moment (along with the multitude of defects reported), but I can deduce it should be sufficient for my needs from various video reviews.

    It's clear but viewing angles are not IPS quality and colors are not as vibrant as they could be for $2K. On the bright side, brightness is pretty good. I'm satisfied with the screen.

    I haven't downloaded or tried it yet. Contacted Razer support and they told me to uninstall Battery ACPI-Compliant Control Battery method, then restart. I haven't run it down to zero so I will try today and see if it fixes it

    Word of warning in regards to the Blade 14 and BatteryBar. It doesn't work. Remaining time stays at 00:00. I opened a ticket and the author says the battery is not reporting data correctly. He's unsure if he can work around this but is trying. I'll report back when and if he updates my ticket

    Thanks. I feel that they'll need a BIOS update to fix this issue, as I can't seem to find any other remedy.

    That's a shame BatteryBar doesn't work, I was going to buy the Pro version if razer Support ended up not being able to solve the issue
