What on earth were you doing to be able to get the CPU up to 90C? Is this just during benchmarks? Playing games the fan on mine hardly even spins! I really really wish we could OC this thing, it could REALLY sprint if they unlocke the bios...Even at 90C with a max temp of 105c, that's still lots of headroom I'd like to be able to tap!!

Edit: Btw, excellent review, the best one I've read to date (that goes for ANY laptop review I've read). You hit all the spots and did so in a fair and balanced way and seem to understand what that when Razer says it's the worlds first true gaming laptop that you understand it's a statement open to interpretation as to what a true gaming laptop is! Thank you for not being so closed minded during the review process!

Just wish I had a way to correct the screen like you do! Can't really drop $250 on that spyder4elite though just to make my screen look better, especially when I didn't even notice it until you did a side by side lol

i have had to turn Orochi down to 4000dpi way to fast for me on 6400,really cannot see the cable been used much only when the batteries go...


Only nark is sleep mode like takes a fraction to wake...

Well guys... I broke down and preordered a Razer Edge Pro 128GB version for 1200 on Best Buy. Couldn't talk myself into paying anymore for a tablet.

Will post an ICM file for the AUO panel in the Blade. As long as the specs don't vary that much between the individual panels, this should be all you need.

 

Listening to my mates radio show on these Qpads wow excellent, the sound outta the razer is top draw, punchy true sound these are more like good hifi headphones with the addition of a removable mic rather than gaming headset... Bioshock 85%

 

My Edge shipped today. Won't arrive till next week but will be focusing on Easter stuff anyway. Eager to stuff it full of games and share my thoughts. Not likely to post an official review other than share impressions and answer questions here in the forums. Main reason I did a review of the blade r1 was bc no tech website had by the time I received mine.

 

It's telling me to select a boot device, do I select the ssd or the hdd?

Edit: does this mean they wiped my drive or something? If so I am not sure why because I have them the necessary paperwork in order to not wipe it lol

the main hdd drive, sounds like you will have to run dataplex software in windows then all should be fine.

It is still telling me to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device.

 

Hmm... May need that usb stick they sometimes give ya, sure it wont boot on the hdd unless you have a windows disk and decent size usb stick

 

So I need to wait for them to mail me a USB stick now? I am about to be upset.

new nvidia driver 3.14 gives big boost,

i used intel site, getting as good as with cable plugged in so wifi rocking...

 

New drivers work awesome. While super pumped about the Edge's imminent landing at my doorpost, am also eager to pick up the Nvidia Shield later this year. According to Nvidia the Blades 660m GTX can stream games to the Shield, though would love to find a way to stream games from the Edge Pro as well....

 

Well had half hour of bioshock on ultra settings seems fine fans are working hard like but plays fine...

Can the Edge Pro stand up on its own or does it only lie flat?

 

Edge pro needs something to dock or lean on, doesn't have the cool surface pro kickstand. Consider this though. According to nbcheck the edge pro's 640m le is the equivalent of the 555m gt, but with better dx11 support. So it's on par with the blade r1 minus CPU horsepower. Pretty amazing really.

 

neither, my OS and everything was still there. I just had to go into the bios and change os setting from legacy to something else. I forgot what it said.

Edit: I am still getting 5 down on a 75 connection with wifi. When I plug in Ethernet I get 60 down though. So is the wifi card just ty? I have tried those driver things and nothing changed.

click on wifi taskbar symbol find your wifi connection and right click on it, view connection propeties,connection tab

 

You changed it to ufei or w/e its called. That's the preferred one. Goto Intel's site and use those.

Well, wireless is still wireless, you're going to lose speed the further/weaker the connection is to the router

Also, did you guys notice the update to synapse? Makes the Switchblade UI launch within like, 5 seconds of boot no matter what now on my Blade -- Bout damn time!

 

I found out what it was, It was my router. I went to a friends house who has a Wireless N router and pulled the same as if it was connected through Ethernet.. I still have a WRT54G Linksys router from a long time ago.

 

Switchblade is getting better. I really love the video pkayer app and actually use it to watch spartacus while playing simcity. Wish that there was a second screen app for it or soemthing, where i could watch my slingbox on it. An i heart radio app would be nice...

Did i mention my razer edge comes monday?

Yep media player is great app, facebook and the web app could do with some work mind... bf3 app is handy

Got facebook zoomed a lot better so usable...

Anyone got any tips for the web browser? hating it keeps defaulting to tiny unreadable any way to change default zoom?

i was messing today and managed some how to get the ui screen in a window on the main screen, are you supposed to be able to do this?

Uhm...interesting! Haven't heard anyone do that, I have a vlc app for it that does that, for w/e reason it never launches in the sbui.

Serial # for your blade should be on your confirmation stuff and of course the windows one is on the bottom of it at the top right

As does mine. Wonder who will be the first to upgrade the SSD with a 480GB Atlas.

I didn't see mention of the Atlas in the Blade R2 upgrade thread, either. A 480GB mSATA SSD and a 512GB 2.5" SSD would be kinda sweet.
