Oh'well, I wonder what the max temp would be with the advertised 4.3GHz. Most likely thermal shutdown or in best case massive throttling.

I have no problem with the fan noise while game playing. Besides my heaviest game playing is on my desktop.

(Which I have tons of screen shots & data of...along with the biggest revealing of razers deep dark secrets that can not be argued that'll be included in my review. You're going to be astonished...)
I'll do my best to get the review up asap. It's the most intriguing one yet...Buffle, Vistar Shook and bsch3r like this. -

the 6700HQ ran in the low 80c range. The three I had never broke 84c, and those were max peak with high fans [because, headphones]
I haven't heat tested the 7820HK yet, as both that and my AW R3 13" showed up at the same time, [long story] but when I get to it I'll let you know.\
Mobius: Don't give a dang what you say. When you have to drag a laptop through 3 airports with a 2nd carry on and 2 weeks worth of check bag luggage, then spend those 2 weeks living out of a hotel. . . The Blade becomes much more attractive.
HOWEVER, i will say, if I could get the AW R3 13" in a 15" form factor with 2k OLED and GTX1070. . I'd never buy another machine again. -
Run through using all the components to make sure they are all functioning, if not you can send it back immediately for a refund, replacement, RMA.
It's always a bad idea to sit on a new laptop without checking it out; letting the initial return period evaporate.
Once that easy return time is gone, you're stuck with it.Vistar Shook and Darkhan like this. -

Also, was hitting 96c in Overwatch. . I had to drop max processor state to 95% to keep it around 78c.. but it's day one and they always run hot as heck on day one. The chassis heat soakes so bad even the palm rest is uncomfortable.. though it's uniform around the chassis. Who knows, I may end up getting my money back and keeping the AW...Last edited: May 12, 2017Vistar Shook and hmscott like this. -

I hate it when the haters win, but Mobius is victorious. After 24 hours, I have submitted a return request.
This morning the temps were a LITTLE more manageable, but the longer I gamed, the more they started to creep. 89 became 90 became 91 etc etc. The Chassis got so hot my left wrist couldn't sit on it anymore. I tried performance mode. It immediately pegged 99 and started throttling. I lost 25 FPS
I get that they're using the chassis as a heat sync to bleed temps, but if you can't stand to use the machine, what's the point?
Never thought I'd say this, but an ALIENWARE 13" just dethroned Razer's top line performer, and I got that for less than $1,500 refurb.
Lesson learned. At least I learned it in time to get my money back.hmscott and Vistar Shook like this. -

Then the same Aida64 stability test but with only stress FPU checked and Heaven. Post the result together with Hwinfo64 in a screenie. Set windows power settings to maximum performance (not balanced, OEM settings or other home made crippled power settings). ThanksVistar Shook likes this. -

Can you guys just come over and help me do this
Vistar Shook likes this. -
But to make it easy, you can get an easy step by step guide from me
1. Download and istall AIDA64 v5.99 + HWiNFO64 (Edit. Newest Aida64 version)
2. Fire up Aida64 + Hwinfo64. In Aida64 Click Tools. Then click System Stability Test.
3. Click the Stress FPU and Stress GPU box.
4. Click STARTAnd let the Stability Test begin
Follow the Cpu-Gpu temp with Hwinfo64
5. Take a screenie of what happening on the screen after 20-30 min(If not your machine already have crashed). Aka BSOD!!
6. Post the final results IN THE FORUM THREAD
Remember use max performance power and not balanced or other homemade crippled power settings in Windoze power plan!! Same for Nvidia Control panel.
If you want, Yoo can replace Stress Gpu in Aida64 with Heaven benchmarks instead. But run both benchmark tests simultaneously.
Put up HWINFO64 as pict in spoiler.

Just unboxed and installed 3DMark and HWInfo. Initial impression is that it is loud and HOT. Like uncomfortable for my wrists hot. I have a few thermal cams and the area above the keyboard is burn-you hot. I measured almost 60C on that panel...
The first Firestrike score was 14981. I'll have a lot more info later... need to run out for a few hours.Vistar Shook likes this. -

no one wants to post screenshots of temps at 99, and that's what you will get without undervolting and even with undervolting most likely temps are unacceptable.
I have owned 3 RBP V2 and all 3 would hit 99 under those stress test and with undervolting I could get them down to 94.
Plain and simple the system itself being a large heatsink, gaming on it after 1hour the system is uncomfortable to rest your palms.
I wanted to love the system, but under those conditions I just could not.hmscott, Cerreta28, Papusan and 1 other person like this. -

Clock stock best I could achieve on all 3 systems was 125 undervolt. One of them I thought was good at 130 as it passed many stress test and several games but Prey would crash at 130. I took it to -125 and no more crashes but temps still hit 94c cpu 88GPU
OC to 4.3 best Undervolt I could get was -50 and yes it throttled like crazy all of them hitting 99 on cpu.
This system cannot in my opinion handle 4.3 liquid metal or not. with LM stock may be able to achieve stable speeds? But why even mess with LM on this unit if your only getting maybe a -10c, so lets say you achieve a max temp of 84 with LM? (This is just a guess?) I believe the chassis would still retain so much heat it would become uncomfortable? -
We call it out like it is. It doesn't matter what brand it is.
but dang as for me I deem the keyboard as the worst made in laptop history. (details will be in the review.)
Also to add, adjust the hwinfo64 to show all the relative info...
+CPU and GPU Temps, voltage, multipliers
+CPU and GPU u Package power
+PCH Temp
Some might cry from sadness, but most will cry of laughter. Comedy is funny.
It's a lost cause.
Waste of money.
I'm just being 1000% honest.
The show is about to start....
We're in the same boat. It would have been nice to see it work, but that reality is a far stretch right now...
I know I can tame the Temps, but nothing crazy due to its flaws under the hood that prevents it from producing good results.

More and more ODM's put in advertised overclock and none of the models can deliver what's advertised.
Liquid metal can help remove-dissipate heat from the cpu die, but the problem will be flushing out the heat from the chassis. + the shared pipes-heatsink design wouldn't do it much easier with max load on graphics.Vasudev, Vistar Shook, Darkhan and 1 other person like this. -

I did run the tests as you asked. However the screenshots were too big to post and I am not going to shrink them down as I simply don't have the time to waste on that. Yes the machine gets hot when running those test but who really cares besides the few people on this board? I don't sit around running these goofy tests to decide if I enjoy using this laptop. I decide that by how beautiful the screen picture is and by how beautiful the laptop is and by how it performs for what I need it too. I do not game nearly as much as I used to as I have an intense and consuming job (which I love) and a full life with my wife/children/grand children/friends. So for the times I use the RBP V2 at work, out and about and at home, it performs amazingly. I did sell my RBP2016 and purchase an Alienware 13 r3. I found it lacking in many areas compared with the RBP. I also tested out the AW 17 r4 at Best Buy and found it lacking as well and I am a supreme Alienware Fanboy! I mean, ask my staff, I wear Alienware polo shirts and jackets to work for gosh sakes
. So I am extremely pleased with my RBP V2. Oh and the portability is wonderful especially compared to other 17 inch (or 15inch) computers.
I can understand why some of you may find the RBP not to your liking. I mean the cost probably exceeds your means and maybe you don't have an excellent gaming desktop (as I do) so you have to run it for longer periods of times on high level games so it might be too warm for your delicate hands ( not manly like mine). However It is not a PoS as many of you alluded too. No matter your personal opinions about Razer, it is still a company run by intelligent people that are there for making a profit which means satisfying their customers of which many of you are obviously not.
My question to those who hate on Razer and the RBP and have not owned one, is why do you even care, why waste your time? Are you trying to drive Razer out of business, are you part of a rival company? Don't tell me that you are trying to inform others not to buy it for some altruistic reasons as that is Bull. I did try and listen to what you few were saying in your complaints, but it just didn't have merit. The points you made were/are irrelevant to me and most likely thousands of RBP owners. Have you even seen the amount of Razer fan boys and girls on Instagram that dream of owning a Razer Blade Pro or the others Blades? Face it you are in the tiny minority of people who do not like Razer, the RBP and/or their product lines. Save yourself some time and go do something more positive perhaps "liking" on a forum that makes computers you enjoy -

You simply don't have the time, yet you have the time to reply here? Setting up imgur or any other photo upload sites is easy. I don't get it...I smell denial...
Goofy tests? This is very much so a noob comment. You obviously don't know what you're talking about.
Ok so you don't game much and use it for what you need it to do...hmm... so you blow $4K on an over priced and under performing laptop to do regular tasks? - Perhaps this is one of the reasons why we can't make sense of the impractical side of RBP owners...
You're comparing a RBP to an AW13? Really? - Hint: Different classes...
What did you find in the AW17R4 that was lacking aside to the obvious? - Did you make sure to compare the AW 17R4 w/ the GTX 1070 to your RBP with a GTX 1065? -- Clue: The AW 174 w/ the GTX 1080 will destroy the RBP hands down. Even stock without it being repasted, it'll walk circles around the RBP. -
It's clear that you need to do more research to understand the rubbish of a company Razer is.
Maybe you'll see then how the CEO even admits that the focus isn't in performance etc... hence, why the whole GTX 1080 and 7820HK is a gimmick where it can't even perform like it is advertised.
They are banking off of the Razer Zombie Fanboys that will flock to it like robots. Can't you see the reality here?
Informing people on here of the truth is not wasting time. It is actually the other way around in being productive to save people from jumping off the deep end of shame.
Most Razer owners never bother or even know how to check temps so they never know what's really happening under the hood. To them if it turns on then great.
We're here to inform noobs like you and to help you see the light.
Those fans you speak of on Instagram are teens that know nothing about technical stuff, but flock to flashy toys that look nice. We were all once there when we were 12.
It is very clear that you are in major denial, especially with the excuse of images being too big to upload and that you don't have time? Yet you reply here with a book....hmmm...okeeyyy...

I mean none of these guys are lying when they are talking about the RBP not being worth its cost. I was extremely disappointed with my RBP2016 underperforming. Everybody wants to love the laptop but you can't get mad when people bash on it because it's the truth. I sold mine with disappointment and switched to the 17r4 and havent the looked backed. Been patiently looking for user reviews on the rbp2017 to see if I would switch back but I haven't heard any good things performance wise.

No matter what brand we look at, every one of them has very serious flaws in one form or another. It helps to have something as a good foundation to work as you set about the task to correct all of the engineering flaws. How daunting that task is going to be depends on how many things are screwed up and how correctable their issues are.Last edited: May 21, 2017Vistar Shook and Papusan like this. -
