    Hi again guys

I just replaced my ssd with a brand new one (256GB over the stock GB one) and I placed the files in a FAT32 usb stick. However I just cant get it to boot or anything. I get a yellow text saying

    EFI Shell version 2.31

    Current running mode 1.1.2

    Device mapping table

    ....

    Shell>

if I go into bios with F1 I set to boot first from USB or boot manager, but regardless I get into this screen. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks a lot!

Why not just have it sent to someone that you know in the US who could then forward it to you? Family, a friend, a business associate, etc.. Think out of the box.

I didn't get into the Bios with F1 when I did it. What I did was hold the power and home buttons together and then release the power button when the logo appears while still holding the home button. You should see a boot menu and then just select the drive.

Weirdly, the MS Store calls it just the Razer Edge, but the tech specs are those of the Pro. Confusing.

Im not getting the razer logo :( I remember seeing it last night but at the moment It boots directly into the EFI shell.

    EDIT:

LOL I was missing the EFI file in my usb XD silly me. Anyways I got it to boot now, but Im getting a blue widnows installer screen saying
a required device is missing and my computer needs to be repaired. I should insert my recovery media ( the problem is, this IS the recovery media). Any pointers on this?

    Update:

for anyone having troubles with the recovery, note that the usb has to be partitioned using GPT. Any other partitioning scheme wont work. Also for some reason my edge doesnt see the usb in the usb 3.0 port, I have to use a 2.0 port in the dock. (its weird because windows can use the 3.0 with the same usb stick). Anyways my recovery is on the way now :)

Congrats on finally getting it to work. It didn't work for me until I formatted to fat32 and I also had to use the usb port on the edge to make it work.

I don't know if i'm just not looking hard enough but does anyone know of any drivers that enables the r1 and l1 buttons? Being recognized as a 360 controller I assume doesn't count these buttons because a 360 controller doesn't have them. Any help?

I'm positive at least one of those buttons are connected on my gamepad. Whenever I launch a game from steam big picture mode, the right side button bring up the steam menu. It's been a while since I last messed around with it though since all of the games I play already support the standard gamepad. A good way to see if they work would probably be to try one of those xbox controller programs. I haven't used one yet but I believe someone mentioned the name of the program here before.

The l1 and r1 buttons currently are both used as the xbox guide button. I e-mailed their support about this and they mentioned that additional functionality is going to be added down the line. Hopefully, because having two xbox guide buttons is beyond useless because you cannot even remap them with any software.

Has anyone heard any information on the keyboard dock other than "When it's ready"? Q3 is only a few days from being over and I have seen nothing on final specs and release dates.

Not positive what calendar they are working on, but Q3 usually refers to July-Sept. So we're only about halfway there.

Sorry I was late to the thread, I was having trouble uploading the usb stick to my dropbox so I gave up on it on the 4th fail. I wanted to mention I had my first "ah-ha" moment with my edge. I was house-sitting for my buddy and was kicking it on the couch playing Tomb Raider in complete darkness and it just hit me, "this is what this is for, I get it." It just felt right.

I would imagine that Razer would need to release a firmware update in order to make it compatible. I forgot what they told me on the phone but it was something along the lines of the Razer Edge is currently not compatible with Windows 8.1. I've loaded it on my Surface Pro and I also just put it on a Duo 13. I don't know what it is about the Edge that makes it so different unless it's the 640le that's causing problems.

Windows 8.1 is much better than straight 8...I learned the hard way it's not compatible . I hope they come up with a fix soon.

I am already missing the new keyboard and the ease of getting to all apps from the start screen in 8.1.

Just got my Edge Pro rolling last night. Upgraded to 256GB SSD and 16GB Ram. New Intel 7260 card is due in tomorrow. The upgrades were super simple, the 2nd memory chip was a little more annoying to get swapped out but not terribly so.

Is there anywhere to buy a 2nd (or 3rd) power brick? I hate not having at least 2.

Oh...and BRING ON THE KEYBOARD DOCK! Please? I'm coming from a Samsung Ativ 700 and not having the dock is going to stink.

Just received my home dock today and I'm wondering why the controller doesn't support docking with it. That woulda been a perfect setup, to dock it in the controller pack then just pick it up and take it to go. Must be something to do with the weight of the system while on the dock, should it be knocked over or out of the cradle I'm sure that could do some damage to the connector. Still, as it is the spare battery in the controller pack needs to be connected to be charged but that's the point of the controller in the first place; portability. Having docking abilities would be the perfect solution for charging the spare battery while having a stationary desk setup.

thanks hoofhearted for you advice to use minitools for the hdd cloneing process. worked like a charm.

i have another issue with the edge pro that i am wondering if anybody has found a solution to. this is that the ambient light sensor will put the edge to sleep everytime i place it in my bag therefore shutting off my music to my bluetooth devices. tried turning als off in power options but all that does is prevent the dimming feature. any ideas?

Fresh install or upgrade install? I tried it both ways and it reversed my touchscreen (touching left actually activated on the right) and the display was upside down. I've tried it twice now and had the same result...once with a fresh install and once with an upgrade.

    ALSO...

Is there anywhere to buy a 2nd (or 3rd) power brick? I hate not having at least 2.

Fresh Install. You need to install Intel HD drivers from Razer Support site to get display working.

Am I alone do not like that the screen is inverted when reinstalling Windows ? I cant install latest driver from intel too, only from razer. Razer has very old intel driver (2012). When i try to install Mac Os (Hackintosh) or Android my screen is inverted! Why i cant install latest intel video driver?

Let us know how the Intel 7260 card works. The 2230 that comes by default is the greatest piece of crap in the universe. Really Im having problems with my connection ALL the time, everywhere even at home. I have to keep using an usb dongle to get a decent and stable connection.

Well, I decided to order one. Had a nice sized Amazon credit built up from their CC and have had $150 in gift cards for a few weeks I've been meaning to spend. Ordered it along with the dock, and got next day shipping...so I should have it tomorrow!

Now I just want that keyboard with an extended battery...though I may just go with a Logitech K810 again, for now (use to have one and sold it since I ended up with the Vaio Duo's which had keyboards attached).

I know they wouldn't but I wish their tweaking of it included adding a small touchpad (even a tiny one similar to what Sony did on the Vaio Duo 13). As much as I love touchscreens, it would just be nice in a keyboard dock to have. If they didn't, I hope their design changes made it really thin (Surface Type Cover thin at least) and light. That or they should build in a super portable bluetooth mouse that can be hidden in/attached to and pulled out of the keyboard dock...that would be !

I just got my Razer Edge. Tossed in 8gb of ram and a 256gb Msata. The Ram was the hardest part because one of the sticks is behind the LCD so you have to pull the motherboard out enough to get to it. Also got a leather folio for it that comes with a Bluetooth keyboard. Essentially keyboard dock but not as snazzy. Love it and super impressed with overall gaming performance. Payday 2 runs fantastic on it.

Any guesses as to what might change with the keyboard dock? Think it'll be out by the end of the 3rd quarter as previously said? My birthday is in September, would make for a nice gift, if it ends up being a solid portable design.

Bought a Razer Edge Pro 256gb today on eBay. Very excited!!! Read through all 65 pages today in this forum. Very informative. Thanks to all who contributed. After reading I've decided to upgrade the RAM and Wi-Fi. I bought Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 and Intel Network 6235AN.HMWWB Centrino WiFi Card. Both through Amazon. Thanks to those who posted pictures and video. It made my decision to upgrade easier. I wish there was a how-to, or step by step video showing exactly what to do. Real nervous breaking open this expensive toy without being 100% sure of what I'm doing.

I have the Razer screen protector and although it's matte, it does lower the clarity of the screen IMO. You are better off getting a clear screen protector if you really want to get one.

I was kind of nervous when I replaced my wifi card but that's probably because I never opened a tablet before. Believe me when I say that it was as easy as it looks. Just take your time and you should be fine. I haven't upgraded my ram yet and that's mostly because I'm afraid of going on the other side of the mother board. A few people here have done it so it probably isn't that bad though.

I bought the clear screen protector as well. I like the screen as clear and bright as possible. I don't plan on using the Edge in the outdoors, so I'm not worried about direct sunlight glare. As for breaking open the Edge, I totally agree with you Truth. I'm less nervous about taking the back off than I am about gaining access to the other side of the motherboard for the second RAM slot.

Has anyone been able to get their hands on the keyboard dock yet? It's supposed to come out by the end of the month if they're sticking to the whole 3rd quarter estimate but when I emailed them, they said to just sign up for the notification on the website and wait for one of the periods when they have them in. Razer has been notorious for not producing enough of their products so I'm wondering if it STILL has yet to come out, or if people are buying up the limited quantity they are getting.

I need one pretty bad because I made the dumb decision to use it for taking notes and writing programs for college >.<

I know someone on this thread, I forget who, had mentioned that when you sign up for those notifications on the Razer website, Razer only notifies you when they have something like 100 or more units in stock. I still haven't received any notifications that the Edge Pro's are in stock so I'm not sure how accurate their system is. But as for you original point, I don't know when the Razer keyboard docks will be released or if they have been released. I've yet to see one online, Amazon, eBay, Best Buy, or any other retailer. I bought a Bluetooth keyboard to use in the meantime. You can get one cheap online for around $20/25.
