Hey guys has any had a problem with right side case vent warping, mine was warped I think due to heat, making the plastic back bend near the vent. I called razer and they told me to send it in. I also had got the edge from bestbuy with 2yr protection should I go there instead but they only have the 256 model in stock. Maybe I tell them ill exchange for that one. I don't know, would they even let me.

That's strange with the warping as I've never heard of that before. It must not be a widespead issue as the Edge puts out a lot of heat and there would probably be a lot more people with this problem. In the past, when I've dealt with bestbuy regarding warranties, they always gave me back the full amount I paid if they didn't have the particular item in stick. This was with smaller things like controllers so I don't know if the same applies to computers.

Thanks, I don't know how it would warp, I had it in the gamepad and when I decided to remove the tablet I see the vent warped, is there a difference between 128 and 256 models? I mean the ivy bridge chips. The thing is that I don't play a lot with the edge most I had it on was 4 hours.

Did they make you pay the difference or did they upgrade you for free? I haven't noticed any yellow on my screen but then again, I don't think I've put an all white background on it either. Hopefully you didn't get another dud.

Lol, I exchange the yellow screen the sameday and got a less yellow with a dead pixel, Nooooooooooo. ... and then the worst thing happen, I got slapped by best buy 90day no returns.
So, I downloaded dead pixel fixer, looks less but noticeable, you think razer would fix the dead pixel? I'm getting an RMA for my gamepad and the othe edge .

Well some guy wrote a pretty long review on Amazon because he was upset that Razer wouldn't fix his dead pixel. If I were you, I would go back to Bestbuy and ask to speak to a manager. That may be your only chance of getting another one.

Aww, I was just banned from returning stuff from best buy, and I spent 10k within a year with them. Thats someway to treat a loyal customer, I dont know what todo now, keep running dans dead pixels fixer? And massage the screen?

Those can not be your only return then, because I have spent around $3000 in the past year using my reward zone account and had returned 4 phones (2 were exchanges, the 3rd was for a different kind of phone, then 4th for a full refund) and numerous other returns in the past month, and the assistant manager said if I made any other returns the system would likely lock me out of being able to do returns.

Just exchanging for a defective product should not lock you out. Especially only 3 times. I would definitely talk to a manager. Sounds suspicious.

Hey all! I'm new and have been following this thread for a bit while considering to get a Razor Edge as I love tablets. However, the lack of the keyboard dock is keeping me from getting one. I don't know if this helps at all, but I've emailed them saying I've been registered to be notified about the dock since day one and still no word. This is what I was sent:

    Hi Aaron,

    Thank you for choosing Razer.

We do apologize for the wait time and really thank you for your patience. We still do not have an exact date but we estimate that the keyboard dock will be available by the end of the year. Keep a eye on your emails and our site. We will send out the notifications as soon as it is available.

    Best Regards,

    Razer Support Team

Don't really know if that's good or bad news, but I thought I'd share though. The possibility of a new Edge is holding me back too frankly. Especially when the FAQ page on their own website lists the Edge as Razer Edge (2013). Why even put the year of the model if they aren't thinking about redoing it?

EDIT: I saw some of you were selling yours some posts back. Are any of you still doing so? I may be interested in buying. Thanks! :)

I may be willing to sell mine and use the money for a surface pro. It's a great tablet, but I have to be able to take notes on it for engineering analysis and the screen just isn't meant for precise writing whereas the surface pro has a drop in power, but has a digitizer and pressure sensitivity and all that. I also need to be able to attach a keyboard for programming and without the keyboard dock I'm pretty much out of luck. If I was using this for my own use and not school it would be great because I could install more games and play them outside my house, but it just doesn't quite suit my needs for college.

Edit: I have the 128gb version and a dock. I have upgraded the wifi card to the intel 6235 because the one that comes standard is just awful. Even the person I talked to from Razer support told me that although they would rather people not mess with hardware, they wouldn't void the warranty if I ever had any issues as long as they are unrelated and not caused by the replacement of the card. There aren't any seals you have to break or anything to open it and I saved the original wifi card just in case it needs to be sent in one day for any reason.

I've been going back and forth on whether I want to invest on a Razer Edge now and how much I'd use it without having a keyboard dock. Especially with no release date of a keyboard dock coming and the chance that a refresh of the model may happen next year. The fun gaming dork in me is saying yes but the logical part of me is saying I can't afford it right now if it isn't gonna fit all my needs. But if that keyboard comes out this year...

But just out of curiousity, whats the price window you'd be looking at selling it for?

Okay here's an update, I called 1888bestbuy, was on the phone for an hour , they were able to lift that ban, but only for the razer and only for one time. Now here's the messed up part, they gave me what looks like an open box, so far the screen is good but the system goes on stand by at random times or when I hold down for copying and pasting stuff (sometimes)then is it normal for the power button with the green led to light up and off slowly? (I haven't noticed from the other edges) Did I setup something wrong? Why is it going on stand by? ( not touching the power)

I'll kindly eat my keyboard if the dock comes out by the end of the year but I personally don't believe it. There's only 2 and 1/2 months left in this year so they should know exactly when its going into production and exactly when it should be on shelves. I think they are either waiting for the refresh to release it or they couldn't work out all the design issues in the prototype so they decided to scrap it all together. I hope I'm wrong but we'll see.

If you can, make sure you test out the Pro before you buy it to make sure you are comfortable with the screen. I got caught up in the hype and bought the Pro back on release day. It's a fine table but IMO. a 10.6 in screen is much too small for 1080p. You can adjust the dpi to make things bigger but some apps don't scale at all (like Chrome). It's painful to stare at that screen for hours at a time and this is coming from someone with 20/10 vision. I think 13 inches should be the minimum for such a high res screen but that's just me. I bought a Sony Duo 13 for school but you should also look into the newer Sony Flip as well as the new Dell.

Listen to your inner dork :D

The same thing happens on my Edge if I hold my hand over the upper right portion of the tablet. According to the Edge Faq, Razer says to hold the Edge a different way.

I'd sell it for whatever it costs me to replace it with a surface pro and the accessories, so roughly $1,000

But what if it DOES!!! Haha, yeah I'm not putting any bets on it coming out this yeah either -_- Which makes me sad. I really wish they didn't drop so much support for what in my opinion is a great, unique device unlike any others out there. I mean the Razer Blade is cool and all, but it's just another gaming laptop among a sea of gaming laptops.

What's sad is that is the main limiting factor of me buying it too. I hate using touchscreen keyboards and all my tablets have had a keyboard dock with them. It's really inconvenient for me to carry another keyboard around. (And I'm not paying $100 for that cheap BT keyboard and case on ebay haha)

There still may be hope though. Since they announced that both the Blade and Edge are now available in Bestbuy, more people will get the opportunity to try/buy the edge. Maybe if enough people get the Edge and start complaining about the lack of available accessories, that will push them release the keyboard. Also, I noticed that most of the accessories have been out of stock for quite a while. It has to suck for anyone who purchases an Edge now if they are looking for the Dock or gamepad. I remember obsessively searching the internet for the gamepad until I finally found one for $300 on ebay.

Yeah all we can do is wait and see at this point. But you make a lot of great points though. I would think they'd want to take advantage of the holiday season coming up too. Time to play the waiting game I guess.

When I hold my hand over the light sensor to make the screen turn off, the green light blinks slowly on and off. When I normally turn it off, the light stays off until I turn it back on.

    Hello all,

I am a french owner of the edge with an horrible english ;)

I want a recovery stick but Razer refuses to send it to me (even in the fee) because I live in France.
So I wonder if someone could make me a copy of the recovery stick and send it to me in France.
Obviously I pay for the memory stick and shipping with paypal.

Yes I was one of the people who ended up with a bricked Edge before so that's why I'm reluctant to upgrade now. I needed to do a bios update on my Sony to upgrade to 8.1 so maybe Razer will release a new bios. On another note, I was snooping around to see if there was an updated bios and I stumbled upon the manual for the keyboard dock. Maybe someone posted this before but it's the first time I've seen it. Maybe we are getting the keyboard dock after all.

Turn off the edge and then hold the home button. While still holding the home button, hold the power button to turn on the edge. When you see the small green light come on, quickly release the power button and hold the volume up button (while still holding the home button with your other hand). I hope this makes sense.

Hi , yes I just upgraded to windows 8.1 I had no problems. I haven't played any games yet looks like everything is working. At first I got an error for some dolby drivers but that issue apparently resolved itself.
btw I have a Razer edge upgraded to 256GB and 10GB or RAM if that matters to anyone.

Wondering if anyone has been able to use Miracast with their Edge? Just updated to windows 8.1 myself, and was hoping its built in functionality would allow it to project to my smart TV, but I haven't had any luck yet. I'm guessing the Edge's built in wifi adapter may not support it. I can't help but think that may have been intentional on Razer's part, to require purchase of the docking station to connect to another screen...

I'm assuming your TV supports WiDi right? If I remember correctly, I had Widi working on the stock wifi card just by downloading the drivers from the Intel site. I since upgraded to a better wifi card and widi still works fine. You just download the software and switch to widi on your TV. If it doesn't have Widi built in then you have to buy an adapter. I think I posted a link to the drivers in this thread back in May or June.

Wondering if you ran into any issues connecting to the tv? I've been trying to connect to my LG smart TV via widi, and I can get as far as entering the key, and the TV detecting my edge being connected, but as soon as I try to extend/mirror my screen from the edge, it disconnects. Installed the most recent driver from intel... can't figure out what the problem is for the life of me. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've been using the Chromecast to display everything but games to my TV, and it works great. I'd recommend just getting that for $35 if you want something for sending video or tabs to your TV, as it offers additional uses with a Smartphone or tablet as well.

I do have the dock and have used it on my TV through HDMI for games, but for video and other things it looks equal with the Chromecast (actually better for some odd reason with colors and sharpness, even at 1080p...maybe it's just the input settings on my TV though).

What kind of TV do you have? I just tried again today on my LG and it works fine. IF you have a LG tv, there is a setting in the options menu called smart share. You have to make sure that is on in order to extend the display. Are you able to stream anything else from your network to your tv?

I ve been lurking for a couple days after i ordered my razer egde pro since i travel a lot and have a hard time carrying around my Asus ROG laptop along with the computer equipment i actually need. I cant cancel my order and kind of regret ordering the tablet. It should arrive with the dock as soon as i get home.

I am looking at different sites and most are saying that the tablet has a 64 bit operating system but the razer site doesnt say that it does or not. I am hoping someone could confirm or deny that ithas a 64 bit operating system and if not can it be upgraded to 64 bit?

Also, has anyone tried an external battery with the tablet?
