The OS is 64 bit and the only external battery that I know of is the official one for 69 bucks. Unfortunately, it can only be used with the gamepad or the keyboard dock.

Thanks. Im not going to use the controller so i didnt bother ordering it.
-
. What? That is what makes the edge the best out of all the other tablets.
If you own one, it's like your in the game. -
id rather set the tablet upright and use a wired 360 controller if im not going with keyboard/mouse. feels better and costs much less. plus if the controller breaks or malfunctions im not going to be out $250, and every controller gets worn down eventually

Ergonomic reasons. i dont like the layout and i know i wont be cofortable with it. The 360 controller is so comfortable.
-
Is there somewhere in Europe where i can buy this Tablet?
In the official Razer store and Amazon only ships the Tablet to the US and Canada.
Thanks. -

Since the keyboard dock isn't out yet I`m deciding whats more portable,
The razer orbweaver or the razer blackwidow tournament edition. For a mouse I`m interested in the G602 although I do have 2 SteelSeries Sensei mice and a Razer Naga Epic. -
Registered just to post this question.
I've had my Edge for a few months now and it's been pretty awesome. I mostly use it in the dock connected to my television. The other day, I tried installing the 8.1 update (I know, I'm retarded) and it flipped my display (but not the controls). In a fit of passion, I uninstalled the Intel graphics driver and now I have a very pretty black screen. I know I need to install the driver from Razer to fix it but I have no idea how to accomplish this without a display. It won't even work with HDMI out through the dock. I've contacted Razer about sending the recovery stick but if there's a way to fix it without wiping the system or waiting for shipping that'd be great.
Is there any way to boot into some sort of safe-mode so I can fix this or do I have to wait for the recovery stick?
Also, while I'm here, do we have any word on the freakin' keyboard dock? The website still says Q3 but unless I've hit a wrinkle in time that ship has sailed :/ -
Can't help you with the Windows problem though sorry -
Thanks for the quick reply anyways. It's gonna be a rough couple days for me: I don't have cable and the Edge was the only thing I have set up for media. My laptop is a Macbook and I can't find my HDMI adapter for itIt's gonna be like camping!

I do not have a recovery partition. I knew it didn't come with one but I was always to lazy to create it. My hubris got the best of me it seems. I know what the first thing I'm doing when I get it fixed is though. -
Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone has tried getting WiDi to work on Windows 8.1? I never tried getting it to work on 8 but ya... Unfortunately I have an older model adapter. The Netgear PTV1000. I believe the most recent adapter model is the PTV3000. I tried going the Windows 7 wireless drivers route but never managed to get it working. I go to install the most recent version of WiDi but it says your platform isn't compatible, your wireless drivers cannot find or load the neccesary components for intel widi. This happens for the windows 8.1, windows 7, and the drivers from razer's site. I saw in this thread that you could replace the WiFi card in the edge not just because the built in one is crap but also maybe get one with better compatibility with WiDi? I remember finding a link for one on amazon that was like 20 bucks but I lost it. If anyone has some insight that would be great.
Thanks for the help,
Bensawsome -
I have to thank all of you who told us about the hassle you've had not having the Razer recovery stick. I called Razer and made up a phantom issue that required me to reinstall Windows. They sent me the recovery stick. Well, I brought it upon myself when I actually needed the stick within a day of receiving it.
-
Hey guys, I have the recovery stick it's asking me if I want to recover with backup or without, I know with backup I lose 10gb. If I choose without backup, will the recovery stick still restore my edge's windows?

I prefer Autorotate set to off. With every restart it resets to autorotate on. Is there any way to lock it off without having to manually turn it off with every restart?

I booted my Razer Edge Pro this morning and this is what I got...ive been looking everywhere and I dont know what to do to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
EFI Shell version 2.31 [124554056244.22136]
Current running mode 1.1.2
Device mapping table
b1k0 :BlockDevice - Alias (null)
Acpi (PNP0A03,0)/Pci(1F12)/Sata(0,0,0)
Press ESC in 1 seconds to skip startup.nsh, any other key to continue. -
It's booting into your bios boot menu because it's not finding a hard drive. At least that's what I can gather from it going into EFI Shell and then listing Sata(0,0,0)

Just upgraded to 8.1 using the instructions on Razer. I got to say, Windows 8 grew on me.

youll have to probably take a look at your hard drive and probably get it replaced unless this error is a result of something you did with the hardware. razer will probably prefer that they handle the repairs if its still on warranty so just wait on them to get back to you

Hey All,
Been reading this thread for a little bit, and I have seen the questions about the keyboard dock. I too have been wondering when it will come out... but i haven't given up hope!
I don't know if anyone has seen this
Razer Support
It is the user guide for the keyboard dock!
It looks like they may have a finalized product, and may just be waiting to release it! -
it looks to me like it doesnt have a hinge, so it will always be tilted at the same angle.

I'm seriously considering selling mine and using half the money to upgrade my desktop and spending $400-500 on a non-gaming Win 8 tablet like the TF 100.
I love the potential and features of the Edge Pro, but I've found I mainly use it at home simply because I don't have a good portable solution for it and as a tablet on the go it works but it's just not that portable or usable as an on-the-go gaming machine without carrying around accessories so I find myself just using it like any other basic tablet for browsing/work.
My patience for a keyboard to make it a "laptop" solution is waning. -

The keyboard dock looks unchanged from the CES prototype. Hopefully it shows up in the next few weeks but I'm still not holding my breath.
-
one of the most annoying parts about my current setup is that when i want to show people something on my screen, their first reaction is to try and tilt it, which is no bueno with it sitting in the dock, and i was looking forward to being able to actually tilt the damn thing. now...

I just got my 8gb ram Surface Pro 2, I have to say Man, I should of gotten another edge.
This thing is .... just plain bad, nothing near the edge. And windows 8.1 is picky on what is wants to run and play so that's cuts most of my games out. Haswell, hmm.. on a full charge I only got an extra 30min to an hour of hardcore gaming compared to the edge. And for $1, 299.99 , overpriced for the technology. I guess maybe it's a FW issues but right now I'd stay away from it. -

Maybe liquid nitrogen external cooling accessory needed?
Would a single 780M generate too much heat to hold the tablet? -
I have found several external battery packs that say they work with the Razer Edge, these are 10,000mah batteries that have Male DC out ports (Where you would connect a female DC port). These are the most common plugs that you see on routers, modems, laptops, keyboards, and toys; just to name a few of the top of my head. From the manual it looks like the the proprietary cable that connects to the edge/docking station connects to the power brick with the DC female connection.
I am lead to believe that I just unplug the brick and connect it to the external battery supply. Now the 10,000mah batteries provide power at adjusting volts and amps and provide up to 50wh. So its documentation that it can support the Razer Edge its there on paper. The 10,000mah works on an almost 1 to 1 ratio without getting into equations since the Razer Edge will operate at 41.44wh. So that should almost double the life of the edge.
I am aware that the extra battery inside the Gamepad also operates at 5400mah and is the same battery that is inside the Razer edge. But when you are gaming and your hopeing to get 2 hours and 30 minutes with the battery pack it limits the portability. Obviously. Still more portable and all that, but I am not getting into that. I am figuring out battery issues.
Alright still with me? So I have found some external batteries that say they support the Razer Edge, you guys are going to explain the power brick connections for me. I have a Hyperjuice Plug that charges my Ipad to full 2 and a half times. More then triples the time I can use my Ipad. I know they make bigger external battery packs for the Macs also. The battery on the following link and the graph at the bottom are the whole point of this post.
HyperJuice 2 External Battery for MacBook/iPad/USB (100Wh)
I look specificly at the 15'' MacBook Pro 2013 Retina which it says it will offer you 14.4 hours of increased time. Now this Macbook has a similar setup with Intel Intergrated Graphics and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card. This isn't remotely fair because of the Retina display and the 95wh that it uses instead of the 41.44wh that the Razer Edge uses. Looking at something similar like the 13'' MacBook Air 2013 with 54wh is more eceptable but it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card and it list it as 34.4 hours. Any time between 14.4 and 34.4 would be amazing.
As long as it has the appropriate connection on the power brick I will figure this out for myself. Because regardless the 200wh, 47,000mah will be used by me on many and many an occasion. I just want to know if it is possible before I purchase it. Thank you for your advice and time. -

Agreed 100%. I bought a secondary market no name battery for my Android which caused various issues and would cause my phone to turn off randomly. So much aggravation. Not worth it.

Thinking of selling my whole setup the Edge Pro 256GB, Controller Dock, Console Dock, and the extended battery.
Would there be interest it I posted it here? -
Put it here if your looking to sell it.

Why you selling it?
