It looks like they slimmed down the bottom of the casing, though that's not going to help how fat it has to be to hold the extra battery. I'm guessing they found a way to secure it when closed that doesn't require fabric. :)

The 256GB went for 1350 with the screen protector, USB extender and Ethernet adapter. Won't miss those too much if a return results in a Haswell/nvidia 7xx model though

Really hoping for a refresh come CES. Actually, more so hoping for some competition. I wouldn't mind an Alienware/MSI alternative.

If there is no refresh is it worth considering a 14" Blade?

If you simply must have the ultra thin, 14" form factor then yes, as long as you don't mind the lack of a touch screen. Otherwise you can get much more power and laptop for your money. If you don't mind a larger screen, the MSI GS70 is extremely thin as well and just as powerful but cheaper.

To me, the best and most unique design Razer has is the Edge. Which is why I hope they continue to support and refresh it through the years.

Or any other programs idle temps? I'm facing a return and would like more info for troubleshooting.
Razer doesn't really help techies, just says 'send it back'.

Nice find but I'm waiting for a refresh hopefully we hear something at CES but if not I might have to stop at BB and pick one up.

I might cave before CES if, at BB, the Pro 256 was at a highly reduced price.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if my USB key is faulty or if it's a security feature of 8.1, but I can't boot from USB nor get to bios via key presses or hardware buttons.

    However, I found a way!

Using the Recovery Key in the USB3 port (The one on top of the tablet, it's green) and the HDMI dock for a usb keyboard, follow these directions:
    1) Go into ' Advanced Startup' (Goto POWER and HOLDING SHIFT click on RESTART)
    b) OR Win8.0, swipe in CHARM BAR, click on PC Settings, 'General', 'Advanced Restart'
    c) OR in Win8.1, swipe in CHARM BAR, click on PC Settings, 'Update and Recovery', 'Recovery', Advanced Startup/'Restart Now'
    2) Once there, you'll click on ' USE A DEVICE'.
    3) Next, ' INTERNAL SHELL'
    3) Once you are there, type ' FS1:' [ENTER]
    4) then type ' EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI' [ENTER]

The device will then reboot into Razer's recovery media. From there you can reformat the device. (For the techie's, it's a custom WIM installer).

PS: Razer cannot upload the recovery files for the device because of a contract they have signed with microsoft. Something about anti-piracy.
I am still looking for idle temps of the edge pro, if anyone can post some! - THNX!

Looks like the Keyboard's been delayed for shipping until 12/12/13... I get the feeling this won't be the first shipping delay, given the elusive reputation of this thing

I've owned an Edge Pro since it's been available, without a keyboard dock. If you plan is to play games via the gamepad controller, the tablet is fine. Very rarely have I absolutely needed a keyboard. For that I have a Logitech K400 (no, I wouldn't play games with a K400).

Unfortunately, you'll probably have to just keep checking the Razer store. The battery packs come and go. You're aware you need the Gamepad Controller or the new Keyboard Dock to use the battery pack, correct?

I can no longer find the part of the description that mentioned the keyboard dock having bluetooth (I swear I remember reading it somewhere on the product page). I guess it was either just a typo or maybe I'm just losing my mind.

Edit: Unless they sent the email with the Euro date....

Honestly if you expected it on the 10th like they announced after they even delayed the announcing of it for ages, then you shouldn't be ordering from Razer lol. Delay and out of stock are their company mottos haha.

Did anyone get a shipping notice today? I figured the 20th date on the website was for new orders after a certain time. The original email I got said it was delayed until the 12th and not the 20th.

$200 for that clunky looking keyboard dock? no thanks, bluetooth keyboard and stand cover/case works perfectly for me... tell me how the keyboard dock works out tho. my only complaint is not enough ports without a dock! who makes a pc gaming device without a ethernet port? if i want to be hardwired AND want to plug in my xbox controller, orbweaver, or/and orochi mouse, i have to have this ugly mess of usb hub+ethernet plug+whichever peripherals....grr! im debating on the docking station...but then i wont have the convenience of the stand case...decisions decisions

The problem for me (with the dock and bluetooth keyboard) is that it's a pain in the a$$ to travel with. That and plus the angle in which the Edge sits in the dock is too steep IMO. On another note, I finally got shipping confirmation on my keyboard and it should be here on Tuesday.

I got mine in. This thing is simply a piece of . Its flimsy, bendy plastic the whole way through and mine won't even fully snap into the top corners. The left one snaps over it just fine but the right one just won't do it, I'm going to have to get another one.

Yeah there is a magnet that holds it closed and another one that keeps it in its track when you have it open. The thing on the back of it that you can see in the new photos is just a bendable plastic band so that when you try to tilt it, itll just come back to where its normal position is (pretty much a straight 90 degree angle straight up). It is extremely top heavy and the keyboard is tiny compared to the screen on the edge, so all around it just looks and feels silly to use. I can't recall if the keys are backlit

I figured it would be sort of top heavy since the Edge is already 2 pounds. Is it easy to tip over backwards?

sitting in my bed typing this, i am really super disappointed in it. it doesn't register all the keypresses, the backspace is in an awkward spot and it likes to tip over backwards if you move it. its not backlit, i cant seem to get the shift key to work. its not what i expected from a 200 dollar piece of hardware. its literally unusable since it doesnt register all of the keypresses. its just..... i cant even express how disappointed i am and how often im having to retype keys and hit backspace. this thing isnt worth .
