Seems to me that he was talking about Haswell. Either way, I'm still hoping that Razer comes out with an updated design at CES. We will know in less than 2 weeks.

    Yeah me too!
If they don't the MS store has the current 128GB model for sale at a great price of $999.00, it's almost too tempting to pass up.
If we get no new info about a revision or at least a GPU update I'm looking to get one at the reduced price.

    Why not both. :)
And as for the add on accesories, all I would wan't is maybe the docking station first and the controller add on second.

Thanks this helped and now my gamepad works with no issues. I was convinced i had tried the update and it didn't work. I guess second time is the charm or my memory is bonkers and i never tried the update to begin with. I'm going with my second assumption.

I would love for a better GPU, 480 to 512 gb ssd, lighter form factor, same resolution as surface pro 2, wacom also like the surface pro 2. A way better keyboard. Extra battery comes with the bundle.

    So no Edge refresh?
Does it really need one? New i7 with less power consumption? Higher end video chip that eats more power?

Theory.... Batteries have been sold out for months. Need more battery life? Make a new battery with more life?

    Battery refresh anyone?

If no; why don't they have batteries for sale?

So I just got my razer edge pro, ordered on sale via microsoft store. Right out of the box, the touchscreen is not working. I don't see any devices missing drivers in windows device manager, but there is some generic HID-touchscreen device.

Does anyone here know where the touchscreen connector is located on the mobo? I figure it could be a loose connector and i'd rather try to fix it myself since microsoft store said it will take them a month to send me a replacement.

    Nice!
Always wondered how well this handled temps with OCing.
What are normal temps when gaming and when you OC.
Not sure If I just forgot but how are the fans on this thing when gaming?

In Razer Store all versions are sold out and they removed the option to choose 128 or 256 gb.
It seems they will announce a new versión this CES.
I only hope they update the Gamepad Controller with a one piece D-pad and is compatible with the original Razer Edge .

I don't think the Razer Edge Pro needs an update in terms of speed right now.

With the way Razer has handled its hardware why do people clamor for more? Do you really want them to dump another tablet out and forget about it as they did the edge? More half baked over priced accessories? I love my Edge but I cant help but feel ripped off lol.

Project Christine offers a glimpse of Razer's insane future through modular computing

Most likely overpriced and hardly supported. Can't wait!

Yeah, once again it's a very cool concept that I was quite impressed by, however this will probably go the same route as the Edge. I can't even began or want to imagine the price of the modular "parts." He mentions he wants to make it cheaper and easier for PC gamers to upgrade. However, I can't fathom a high tech modular thing being cheaper than like say a regular GPU card. Even after paying someone $50 or so to put it in.

Very awesome idea and concept, but really don't see where the market is for it. :/

EDIT: Oh and I think we're out of luck with seeing an Edge refresh. It seems like Razer has shown all their big cards already.

You never know but i think you're right. I don't think Razer sees a need in updating a niche product when it's still more powerful then the newest tablets/hybrids.

I agree but i guess they looked at the numbers Razer did and they passed on doing it. It looks like Steam boxes is what Alienware is gonna do but i have hope for MSI or Sager.

Razer before any update needs to take back all of our keyboard docks and make it usable. THE KEYBOARD IS TERRIBLE!!! What were they thinking with the shift key????

The closest thing that's comparable is the AMD project discovery and that's just a prototype. You really can't go wrong with the Edge if you can get in on the Amazon deal. Despite being almost year old, it's still the most powerful tablet when it comes to pc gaming.

Your guess is as good as mine on updates. As far as WOW, I haven't tried it on the Edge but all the other games I've tried (TR, BF3, COD, GW2 etc......) all play perfectly on medium/high settings with a good framerate.

If you're playing on the Edge Pro's screen at native resolution (1366x768) it will play just fine with good settings. I like at least high draw distance and high textures with 4x multisampling, and everything else can be on Fair or Good, and it plays at 40+ FPS which I think looks great on this screen. It will increase or decrease by about 5-10 FPS here and there, going down into the 30's or even up into the 50's, but overall it's usually consistently around 40.

When I plug it into my 1080p monitor (wish it'd at least output to my 2560x1440 monitor, but even with an HDMI>DVI it won't) I can get it to run around 30-40 FPS with Fair settings, high draw distance, good textures, and 4x multisampling. I'm sure plenty of people wouldn't mind it with lower settings to get the 50+ FPS though, especially lowering the multisampling to 1x or 2x, that gives you about 5-10FPS increase no matter what other settings are.

Can't believe the 256GB version is under $1000 on Amazon atm though, bought this thing for $1300 and only got the 128GB version back in Sept.

I actually just tried MSI Afterburner, with a 100Mhz overclock to both the GPU and VRAM, and I'm getting about a 10FPS increase in WoW no matter the settings. I tried it in Dota 2 with all max settings at 1080p and am getting 40+ FPS with the overclocks. Was getting around 30FPS before. So while you wouldn't want to do that if you were on the battery, while plugged in it definitely helps with the performance...about a 20-25% increase if you don't mind running it a little higher (even though my GPU temps are showing exactly the same, if not lower).

Here are some screenshots of WoW with my various settings. Again, the overclock is with MSI Afterburner 100Mhz for GPU/VRAM. You can go a bit higher than that, but for a performance gain anyone should be able to maintain, I figured that was fair. The reason the first image is a little lower FPS for each section is because I did the settings I personally like, then did the default "Good" and "High" with 4x multisampling after that. Lowering to 2x or even 1x multisampling can give you a 5-10+ FPS increase no matter the other settings but I think it makes it a bit blurry.

Anyone else having issues with deliveries through the razer store?

Lost my power adapter at a hotel. :(
Ordered a replacement in the store a week ago, and the order status is still "Boxed Shipment"

I now have a $1,400 brick until the adapter arrives..

And this right here is why I will not buy a modular anything from Razer. I have to admit, they have a lot of cool ideas, but damn their service/reliability struggles at every corner. I really wanted the Edge to succeed, as I love the idea of a gaming tablet. I just couldn't get behind a device I couldn't at least squeeze a day of work out of, especially at that price. While people look at the current model and say, well it plays games fine, a simple Haswell upgrade would greatly improve battery life. It wouldn't even need to be a high-end Haswell as the integrated graphics isn't critical in a machine that has it's own dedicated.

Oh well, maybe some update will come outside of conferences this year, as I'm still interested...

Sad but true. I supported a great idea but cant help but feel burned. The $200 flimsy plastic keyboard was the end of my support. Cant even get a battery or gamepad if I wanted.

From everything i'm reading and everyones feedback on the forum, I might be better off waiting a little bit longer on getting an edge.
It's what i've been looking for in portable gaming, but I can't seem to bring myself to pull the trigger on one just yet.
My dreams of tablet Warcraft will have to be put on hold…until a refresh or the tablet price and accessories drop down to point where it can't be passed up.

Honestly, at $987.99 on Amazon with free shipping for the 256GB model, it's at a point that I'd say it's worth it if you're even considering something in this price-range and aren't set on a laptop expecting to be maxing new games but simply playing at acceptable settings with the native resolution and a small form-factor touch device plus having the accessories as an option. If you don't already have a larger tablet, it can definitely work great as one, and there are so many ways to play on it (either with touch, accessories/controllers, docks, or standard mouse/kb) that it is simply an awesome device for that reason alone.

I pulled the trigger on the amazon deal (was tempted by the Surface Pro 2 but I want a GPU) but I'm having a seriously hard time finding accessories (or believing the base price they want for that keyboard dock, jaysus). Anyone have a lead on that? Also does the keyboard they sell have an HDMI output? I'm wondering if there's any way around the docking station (currently at 1k+ on amazon) for HDMI output?

A buddy of mine to got an Edge and he can't find any accessories. I don't know what the deal is regarding availability. It took me about a month of searching last year until I finally got my hands on the gamepad and dock. The keyboard dock doesn't have HDMI but the standard dock does. The only other way to get a direct HDMI connection would be to grab a 3rd party USB 3.0 dock. Sadly, those cost just as much if not more than the original price for the Razer dock.

BestBuy was going to match the Amazon price pre 2014. Uncertain if they will do so. Have we heard all of the CES news from Razer?
