DCU works great online with the controller or hooked up through the TV.

STO plays quite well on the edge w/ keyboard dock. I also use my NAGA and a USB 10 key. The macro system translates well from my Anansi to the keyboard dock.

I play at work using my phone as a hub during lunch every day.

I am looking too. Ebay and watching a few online sites is all we can do. I won't pay the huge markups that people are asking and will live with USB docking if thats the all I ever see. I've seen them sell for 400-600 and that's just crazy.

ME: The final query is, where can I possible buy the Game Pad and the Docking Station?
RAZER: Keep an eye out as sellers have these from time to time.

Those markups bordering on silly :)

Well let's keep looking, if I find it I will be sure to post it here.

FYI for people looking for the gamepad controller. I know Microsoft have them in stock, but they are only selling them online bundled with a Razer Edge purchase. You might be able to call them and order one though.

dunno, i think what's holding razer back on new product reveals has been nvidia more than anything, haven't seen their 8xx series cards touted as of yet. all the janurary expo laptop coverage mentioned "unnamed nvidia cards" (presumably an 880m gtx and stuff like that). I am getting ready for my next big purchase as well. It may be the Aorus X7 17" laptop. SLI in a 1" under 7 pound package... only issue is battery life. will give razer the chance to earn my money. As i said, I've owned every Razer System they've released up to this point.

    back to titanfall beta!

Shouldn't it be possible to replace the docking station with this: Storage - Varidrive and at the same time add DVD combo drive as well as VGA, and Ethernet connectors?

While that should indeed work, I think the biggest issue is if you use an external display it won't be driven from the internal Nvidia GPU but rather whatever basic integrated graphics card is in this device. It should work fine for office, email and web browsing, but not for gaming.

I have a primitive setup similar to that minus the video out, I just use a mini USB hub where I can plug in DVD burner, keyboard and mouse, USB drives etc.

More likely 7XX series, as they haven't even flushed out their range yet. 750/750ti were just announced today. Most likely Maxwell refresh, which would be awesome. Even their desktop GPUs require only about 60W to run. A mobile version and we may see some awesome GPU tablets out this year... Maybe even a cheaper Razer alternative.

I hope you're right about more tablet options coming out. I'm worried that we're such a niche that no one else(or even Razer) will be willing to take the chance and release another one anytime soon.

Most people just see that it's heavy, too thick, less battery life, not 1080p... They don't understand that it could easily be used as a desktop replacement and play all games, and many of them even at higher settings!

Me and a buddy of mine are looking for two of the Razer Edge Pro docking stations. He hasn't purchased his Edge pro yet as his only reason for it is to have it connected to his TV for gaming. I have mine already (love it by the way... serious power for that little package) but would really like to get the dock without paying the exorbitant prices on ebay/amazon and am getting tired of seeing the "out of stock" on hidev, razer, microsofts site.. Anyone on these forums have a dock or two available used. I'll pay more than new for them, but would like to avoid the 600$ price tag.

I'll check back on this site pretty religiously for any responses or feel free to email me at my username at gmail.

If this forum is not an acceptable place to look for sellers, could someone direct me to a forum that would be more appropriate.

    Thanks!
    -Matt

Has anyone installed a fully body (screen) protector where you cover the back panel?

I just got one since I didn't want to scratch the back up setting it down all the time. Can I put the protector over the Windows COA label? I would put some thin clear tape over it first to water proof it, and then put the protector over the whole thing. Not sure how well that would work. The alternative is to try to scrape/clean the sticker off first but I'm worried I would either scratch the back panel, ruin the sticker completely or both. I would rather just permanently cover it.

Hmmm... This Edge has been just one big technological nightmare in getting all manner of things to run on it. That said, I'm in a love/hate relationship with it. I'm glad to have found a forum where others may be able to sympathize and lend a hand. :hi2: Hello!

The newest hurdle is the Gamepad I'd finally got around to ordering in. It runs lovely on my emulators, but I cannot get it to detect on Titanfall at all. Does anyone know what's going wrong on it? It detects itself as an xinput device in joy.cpl as well as on the Dolphin (GameCube) emulator. It picks up fine in any game I've tried so far other than Titanfall.

Did you get one of the full body protectors from XtremeGuard for like 90% off? You can try to carefully remove the sticker and place it on the power supply or the box. I wouldn't put the protector over it for the same reason that you described.

Maybe you should try uninstalling all the gamepad drivers that you have and only install the Microsoft version. Sorry I can't be more help but I had no problem with TitanFall detecting my gamepad the first go around.

That is 100% a valid idea. I've downloaded so much crap pertaining to Xinput in an effort to get certain controllers to work, it's totally a likely cause. However, it does trouble me that it seems to be only Titanfall that's affected by this and not my other games, should that be the case.

In which case, does anyone know how to uninstall x360ce? It was suggested to me numerous times while I was playing around with Xinput, and installing it on my computers has been a big mistake. It's utterly impossible to remove as far as I can tell, and I think it's buggered up my key registries on top of that. It's been my number one suspect for any issue on my Edge ever since, but I can't find any way to remove it.

    Edit:
I hate to be a bother, but this is much more urgent now. The Gamepad's stopped working altogether. It had been finnicky ever since it arrived yesterday, requiring a very firm and swift motion to manage to lock in the clasp system, but now it's completely unresponsive. It behaves like it's bricked-- There is no audio cue when it connects, but the device numbly vibrates. The light on the back becomes half-lit, but none of the buttons light up. None of the connector's seem damaged and I've sent a support ticket to Razer, but I'm not sure what to do now. I've already installed the drivers for the Gamepad (This solved a similar problem the first time) but I am at a loss this time around.

I've posted this several times :D

Razer Edge Gamepad Firmware Updater_v1.00.12 v4, this is the solution, it will make the gamepad recognised again.

    http://dl.razerzone.com/drivers/Edge+Gamepad/win/Razer Edge Gamepad Firmware Updater_v1.00.12 v4.exe

And to avoid the gamepad disconnect during games install xbox360 gamepad driver for win7 64, mine has not disconnect since i installed it.

Yeah but I just got it off amazon for about $6, I didn't know about any sale. I already bought a normal stick on screen protector and I hate it, put 2 of the 3 on trying to get no bubbles. Hopefully the water install kind will be much easier, I know on all my phones/game systems it was super easy to get zero bubbles.

Let me know how the back install goes. I just received my installation kit on yesterday and I already threw away the screen part because I didn't like the texture. I haven't installed the rear one yet because I haven't bothered to remove the Windows sticker yet.

Mhm! I had seen your post! Unfortunately, that is the same patch that I mentioned having already installed. Razer Support had just suggested the same thing. Even if I wanted to install it again (Which I have tried to) the issue is that the firmware updater itself cannot recognize the Gamepad, and thus cannot patch it.

I popped the Samsung 1TB EVO mSATA into my Edge yesterday after imaging the existing 512GB using Macrium Reflect. Works fine. The part number is MZMTE1T0BW. The best price I see is $625 over at ewiz.com. B&H's price jumped from $620 to $638 once the drive was in stock. :-/

Just upgraded the WiFi card in my Edge to the Intel 7260 Wireless AC card. Took me about 5 minutes to take off the back cover, disconnect the wires, then replacing the actual card. Windows 8.1 took about 30 seconds to figure out the new hardware, and I was set. I have a wireless AC router, and it connected immediately.

    And the result? Awesomeness! :D

Regular web browsing seems a hair faster, but download speeds are night and day. I can now actually download games from Steam and Origin without waiting overnight! :p

I haven't done any benchmark tests, but I'll report back with tests soon.

I installed mine recently too, and I did some benchmarks but was less than impressed. I updated the drivers to the ones on the Intel downloads section to see if it would help but no change. It wasn't an issue for web browsing as the stock one could handle my cable 15 Mbps connection just fine, so no change there. I heard the stock one would disconnect too but honestly never saw a single disconnect with it. I mainly did it to improve transfers across my network (large files like movies and copying games back and forth). I did a transfer to and from the tablet before the upgrade to the same wired desktop PC on my network, it averaged about 2.5MBs before and now about 3.5MBs. Faster yes, noticeable faster, no. Still takes a long time to transfer a large file. My GT60 laptop copied the same file at 9MBs, and I just noticed it happens to be a 2230 which is the same card I removed from the Edge :(

Are you using an AC router? I have a Netgear AC router, and I'm actually noticing a big difference in download speeds. With Steam games, it usually was downloading at a speed of 400 kb/s, now I'm seeing around 800 to 900 kb/s!

No I'm sure it's an A/B/G/N router, guessing 1 or 2 years old at most, never heard of AC until I started reading here. I am able to download from the internet no problem since my speed is only 15Mbps, and the card appears to be able to do about 28Mbps (3.5 MBs approx)

I have had much higher network transfer speeds on older laptops, and even with the 2230 in my GT60 so I can't blame it on the router. It could be some sort of incompatibility or even a driver issue I suppose. I did have a bunch of problems with getting bluetooth working again, that was the original reason I went looking for newer drivers to begin with. I have been unable to delete and devices from the bluetooth list so I guess it will keep growing forever as I add new devices lol. I googled that issue but came up with a bunch of weird things to try but it doesn't bother me that much to do all of that.

I know the connection speed is not directly correlated to throughput but from my experience it has some correlation. On devices that connect at 300Mbps on my router I tend to get better throughput, but this thing only connects at 60-70 and my GT60 with the 2230 connects reliably at 144 everytime. It's odd to say the least.

Just tried connecting a bluetooth keyboard, and it still works. However, like you just said, I cannot delete devices; just shows "failed to remove device". But for my personal use, I rarely use bluetooth anyways.

I just started digging in some more, and my bluetooth devices are disconnecting randomly after a minute or two, and I have to fiddle with turning them off and on and even turning the bluetooth off and on to get them connected again. I found a bunch of others complaining about the same issues on the intel forums. I saw a comment that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. I am tempted to put the stock card back in to verify it is only the new card that has the issues, or maybe its the latest drivers that I installed. It's about worthless now since it disconnects so often and hard to reconnect.

I've got a more casual question for you folks, less about the specs:

What's your favourite game to play on your Razer Edge? With a Gamepad? What do you think is the most impressive game it can run well without an internet connection?

I don't have the Gamepad, but in general, the Edge is very good at running games that don't have much clutter or complex environments mainly because of the screen size.

I'm currently playing Bioshock Infinite, GRID 2, Payday 2, and Euro Truck Simulator 2. I tried playing a few strategy games like Dawn of War and XCOM, but I found the screen to be somewhat small for games like that.

So, there is a screw loose bouncing around in my edge, opened it up and couldn't get the screw out or figure out where it goes without lifting up the motherboard. Also if u sit it down a little rough it will toggle pause in games or netflix. Went to best buy where I purchased it and they said they couldn't fix it only give me store credit to buy a new one. So my question is should I get another edge or something else? With store credit I could get an asus rog or one of their slimmer options, a msi (but I really hate the red accents) or an Alienware. I'm planning on going back to best buy in a week and am not sure what to do. I really like the portability of the edge and the tablet form factor when using it as a tablet. But I mostly play mmos and the screen could be a tad bit bigger when actually gaming. I love the touchscreen and think that with windows 8 i would definitely want the touchscreen option but most gaming laptops don't come with this feature. So should I go with a heavier, clunkier, laptop without a touchscreen but bigger screen and better specs or stay with the edge that is light, portable, has touchscreen, but is in need of a bigger screen and I could have better specs? I also have a desktop so this question is geared toward my portable computer

I hope it's more docking stations for those of us that bought the edge pro prior to getting the docking station lol.

If it is the edge 2, what are the odds the docking station will use the same plug as the edge pro?

    And...to everyone's disappointment, it's not the Edge 2.

Razer just announced the The Koenigsegg Razer Blade, in partner with Koenigsegg - the Swedish supercar marker.

Looks cool, but seems like a waste of time. It's not on sale, and you can just win one in sweepstakes.

Well that was a surprise but not the one I wanted. I suppose if I buy one then a refresh will be announced?

Doubtful at this point. Refresh would simply have been a socket change and maybe less crappy accessories. Something Razer could have easily thrown together by CES or MWC. My guess would be that the edge line is going the way of the dodo. Either that or Razer will announce an update at any possible time, randomly. I would suggest buying it now and hunting for accessories as fast as possible. Until there is some breakthrough with APUs or an ARM based version of Linux/SteamOS which can run modern games on like a Tegra K1, I think the days of gaming tablets are numbered. I'd expect streaming full games to even basic Android hardware to arrive before then.

You may be correct. I would be concerned about finding the keyboard dock.
