This hands down is the worst tech item I have ever bought. I feel like such a fool for buying this crap.

The only value I got out of it was selling it. It was a overall half baked tablet built around expensive add on's. But it was a idea that Razer never had any idea of backing.

I only had wired at home, I had a portable bluetooth keyboard and mouse for on the road. I got them both of amazon, it was a backlit small(but still typable) keyboard and small 5 button mouse.

They backed it with a full suite of accessories, most of which one could have obtained when they were released.

It remains to this day the only PC I'm aware of which one can game on while standing in a line.

I can agree on some level. For example, support said that the Gamepad was going to be added to Synapse so we could configure the extra shoulder buttons. That was months ago and still no word.

I bought Logitech K810 keyboard and Razer Orochi 2013 Mouse , but I have a problem with mouse lagging. It works ok - no lags - as long as I don't connect a Bluetooth keyboard, laggy movement of the mouse pointer starts when I connect my BT keyboard. For stand I use Cooler Master Wave Stand.

Does anyone one else detect lags when running a BT keybaord and BT mouse? What about a wired keyboard and BT mouse?

I've heard of this happening on other devices as well when both are connected to the same Bluetooth. What most people decide is to get a wireless dongle mouse (like many Logitech mice) and it seems like the dongle won't interfere with the BT keyboard and vice versa. Of course it means using a USB port.

If you are going to use the USB port might as well get a splitter and use a wired keyboard?

Totally depends on your use case. If you dock it by the television and want to be able to control it from a table/couch, then you may still want wireless keyboard/mouse

I have both the K810 and 2013 Orochi and I haven't experienced any lag. It is recommended by Razer to use the Orochi wired when gaming though since it times out after a while.

Ahh I forgot to factor that in. I have a 7260 on my desk but I've been too lazy to put it in. I've been using a 6235 up until now and I've had no problems with lag. Maybe it is a driver problem.

The keyboard and mouse would primarily be used for PC gaming which is why I was thinking of a wired keyboard since I own a BT mouse.

If you are setting something up at home then go for the wired keyboard. If you are looking for something to travel with, a bluetooth keyboard would be smaller and more convenient to carry.

    New here, hi all!

I'm wondering to what extent if any of you upgraded your razer edge pro.

I replaced the easy stuff such as the wifi/bt Adapter w the intel 6235 adv wireless and replaced the 128gb SSD w the samsung 1tb msata. (msata I did this year)

The more difficult upgrade was replacing the 8gb of ram to 16gb, I had to literally do a tear down back when I bought the tablet last year just to access the ram chip on the other side of the board.

Just curious if any went as far :p

    ++edit++

Also curious if I should replace the 6235 I got last year with the intel AC1200 7260hmw? I have a newer apple extreme router which has A/C for 802.11. I don't know if it'll make a big dif.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This is the BEST PORTABLE SYSTEM EVER.

A 3ghz portable PC with Windows and all his Apps, Games...Everything and with CONSOLE CONTROLS...for me it's a dream come true.

There is nothing like this in the market.
This system is what all the Android Consoles and Tablets dreams to be in the future, but this system is here NOW.

I have the exact same router still brand new in the box along with the same wifi card on my desk. I've just been so busy (and lazy) that I haven't had time to hook it all up. It sounds like you've made the max upgrades possible but I'm curious to know how much you paid for the samsung. SSD prices have really dropped so I've been thinking about replacing my 256gb with something bigger.

When I bought my Samsung 840 EVO 1TB as a pre-order from B&H, it was $630. Now it's $540 or less. $100-ish price premium over its 2.5" cousin, but so worth it.

Yeah i paid that extra when it first came out… was a bit impatient… lol.

Current price point at tigerdirect.ca is $845 which is more than I paid for. But could be the same after currency conversion from when I bought it through the states. In any case it's not cheap :p

one thing I liked about the samsung drives is that Samsung has drive cloning software on their site specifically for their drives (doesn't clone to other drives just theirs) but it beats wasting time finding software when you can just download it from their support page.

I bought a USB 3 msata enclosure so I could clone my drive on the same tablet, it was very useful. Though now the enclosure has issues connecting which is always an issue after some time with the thin USB 3 connector (flawed)

I use Macrium Reflect to clone my SSDs. No issues so far. I have that paired with an Apricon USB 3.0 to SATA adapter and an mSATA to SATA adapter board. The Apricon adapter has had issues on older systems, but not on the later model ones I've been using.

Apricorn's adapter comes with software, but it's not as robust as Macrium Reflect. It's also slow.

I really want to love my edge pro but I'm starting to go back to my Alienware M11X r3. The keyboard doc for the edge just kills my productivity but I want it to be my primary computer. I think once I get a larger SSD I'll be alright. Razer failed miserably with the keyboard. But I give them a high rating for sending me a replacement recently when my first one died.

Yeah it's the issue of not being able to get as much work done on the Edge. My m11x on Windows 7 brings back that familiar feeling of what a laptop should feel like. Plus I can load it up with big file games like COD Ghosts and a bunch of other games I can't fit on the edge. But on the long flights I want to work on a few business plans but it's near impossible to properly type on the razer keyboard dock and I'm a pro at typing. Having the Razer on a stand doesn't work so great with turbulence. The controller also takes up a bit of room in my only bag. Basically, since reformating my laptop, I've realized how much lost productivity has occured since making my edge my dedicated computer. When it's docked to my large screen with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, it works pretty good...but these days I'm on the go a lot, so I end up using my Note 3 phone more but then I'm limited by Android after a while.

Same here. I have a ton of keyboards and the Edge one is the only one that I still miss keystrokes on. It's still ok to use in a pinch but I wouldn't type any essays on it.

keystrokes are missed on the keyboard dock due to the cramped keys or the lack of sensitivity of the keys?

You guys just solidified my reasoning for not buying that keyboard dock or any of the other accessories for the edge (except the plain dock) lol yeah go with the Alienware if you need to do work. I don't think the edge would do you much good in that instance. I have a retina MacBook Pro for work in design, i would never use the edge or any PC for that fact to work on design :p

It's pretty much the lack of sensitivity of the keys. Basically, some keys won't recognize a press unless you press directly down on the center of the key with enough pressure. It's really kind of hard to explain but I could basically close my eyes, type something, and then see missing letters on the screen even though I'm sure that I hit all the right keys. Running the same test on my rMBP or Surface results in all the keys showing up with 100% accuracy. I guess I could adjust if it was my only keyboard but I can't get used to it since none of my other keyboards have this problem.

Yep even after all these years, the MBP + trackpad is still my preferred method to get any work done. If the Edge wasn't such an awesome little gaming machine, I probably would have gotten rid of it months ago.

I had my Edge on the regular dock, a tenkeyless Ducky Shine III keyboard, and a Razer Onza in my hotel room while at PAX East 2014.

I could not see myself doing anything meaningful with a 1366x768 screen. Even the bit I used it in the hotel, it was cramped. The same went for the M11x the short period I had it.

For actual work, I'd argue anything less than 1080p is a non-starter. It's why I still use my Blade R2 despite owning a 2013 14" Blade.

If you're after the Razer aesthetic, you may want to consider the new 2014 14" Blade. I'm still awaiting shipment of mine, but I'm hopeful 1080p will be usable.

Has anyone else had trouble getting the screen to auto-rotate?

I have tried setting it with the button on the top of the Edge, the Charms Bar and the Control Panel and it doesn't rotate. Any suggestions?

The inability to rotate was a bug with the razer drivers try updating the drivers from the support site. I updated to windows 8.1 and used the latest drivers and it works again
