why on earth have the prices for the tablet accessories increased sooo much within the last month, on ebay and amazon the gamepad accessor for the razer edge averaged $400, now there going close to $700 in less than a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that $300 to $400 docking station averages buy it now $700 with bids going to close to $600, what is going on here. i just bought the razer edge in mid july and already the prices have increased almost 2 fold.

It's just because the accessories are getting rarer and rarer by the day. I seriously doubt there are enough docks and gamepads to go around for everyone so it will probably be a sellers market from here on out. It doesn't help that even though the Edge is over a year old, there's still pretty much nothing else like it on the market.

That's why I bought the razer edge cuz there's still nothing like it on the market it's great for school and gaming, I love it!! I however hate the premium accessories prices, such a shame razer discontinued the accessories :( guess I'll have to fork over a premium. Btw can u upgrade the mssd without voiding the warranty?

AFAIK, there are no seals to break when removing the msata drive so you could upgrade the drive without voiding the warranty as long as you put the original hardware back before sending it in.

what is everyone's experience with the durability of the Razer Edge? They are sold out from all the authorized sellers and if I buy one from a non-authorized seller, the Razer won't honor the original one year manufacturer's warranty. My concern is that I buy one and it craps out in the short-term and I'm out of luck.

I think most of the issues that everyone has had have been software issues related to Windows 8/8.1 and drivers. I've had mine over a year and it's still holding up very well. I think if you purchase form eBay, you should be able to add a squaretrade warranty. Outside of that, you're pretty much SOL on getting warranty support from Razer unless the original owner gives you their receipt.

    Hey guys

i got a problem with my razer edge pro. So i got it yesterday and i played around a little downloading java, minecraft and checking out other features. Then i updated to windows 8.1 and it said like 1% done .... till it reached 99% and then it said something like : Failure updating reseting files ' or something like that, after that it said please wait and the loading icon appeared (the whilte dots turning in circles). So i took my edge with me to my bedroom, left it on the floor, the next day it still says 'please wait' so i wait half a hour, after then i restarted it (holding power button really long) it restared with the razer logo appearing and loading and then it goes back to this 'please wait' screen. I Cant do anything. Please help!

I tried to do some Windows updates. Downloaded them and tried to installed them. When it was done it didin't like one of them and restored from backup. That took a few hours. You may have to wait several hours.

The reason I bought a Razer Edge Pro was to have a tablet, laptop, desktop all in one. Been waiting 9 months to purchase laptop and desktop docks. After months, they have announced they are EOLing the product and its accessories. Last time I buy anything from Razer.

From: Razer Edge Pro (2013) | Razer Support
Where can I purchase the Razer Edge and/or its accessories?
As of 1st July 2014, the Razer Edge and most of its accessories have sold out and are no longer available for sale. Some cables and power supplies may be available at Buy Gaming Grade Accessories - Official Razer Online Store (United States) /
If you need technical support with your Razer Edge, you can contact us at Razer Contact Us and we will be happy to assist you.

Well that's it then. I can't really blame Razer for not continuing to pour money into the Edge if it didn't sell as well as they hoped. It is sort of sneaky for them to declare it EOL as of July 2014 when the accessories haven't been available for many months prior to that date. I still feel that they should have done one last run of accessories before declaring it EOL.

Is there anyway to improve wifi performance on the Edge? Specifically, it seems like the range is really quite short, even without a case on it.

You can swap out the factory card for one with much better performance. You can buy a new wireless AC card for less than 30 bucks and it's pretty easy to install.

I've installed an AC7260, but it hasn't helped much. Turned off the power saving setting (it began with a "u") and enabled HT. Still no dice.

Yep, unfortunately I saw the writing on the wall and sold my Edge Pro. I didn't want to, but I always felt like they didn't really care about supporting the tablet. I had to buy a dock on Ebay and we all know that the prices are gouged. The edge is a great concept for niche gamers, just a shame they didn't support it.

My apologies, but I'm not much of a reddit user. We have a Razer Edge Pro and we're a part of the group that was screwed out of a keyboard dock. -1 for Razer.

Do you guys know of any other good keyboard docks? Or perhaps any good stands, or more importantly a way to hook it up to my HDTV for more serious gaming? (We have company over and we'd love to be able to use it.)

As far as Keyboards, any standard Bluetooth or USB keyboard will work, you probably wont find one that works as a docking station as well unless you can find one built into a case large enough to house the edge pro behemoth. Additionally, in order to properly stand up, you would either need to be blocking the power connector or if you invert it, you'll be blocking the usb forcing you to use bluetooth.

Valena, unfortunately, if you want to hook your tablet up to your HDTV, the only option you have is to purchase the Razer brand docking station as a USB3 docking station isn't going to cut it if you need any kind of FPS. I got lucky and got one for like 350 on ebay a few months ago, unfortunately I'm sure they are more now. For work however, I use a belkin docking station as I need two monitor hookups and I hate USB -> DVI converters. It's a bit pricey though. Windows 8 Tablet Dual Video Docking Stand with USB 3.0

    Hope that helps.

Seriously though, has anyone been able to find any of those keyboard docks for the Razer Edge? I've been looking for months, and since my last post I found that I can't return the Razer Edge Pro through amazon, so I am rather boned.

If anyone has some ideas as to where to find one or has any further suggestions, I'm all ears. (Hoping to avoid the $200 belkin stand idea, mfried, but thanks a ton for that backup plan!)

I bought mine back in December and I only saw it for sale once more after that (in January). At this point, eBay is your only option and even though there are none on there now, the ones I've seen before sold for as high as $700. If it makes you feel any better, it's not a great keyboard dock at all. It misses key presses and the keys are tiny as hell. It's really only good for protecting your Edge when transporting and adding a couple more low power USB ports. You could always rig up a case with a logitech k810 because at this point, it's almost impossible to find the keyboard dock even if you are willing to spend some serious $$$.

I...was unaware that it sucked. Thank you for the tip, but what do you mean rig up a case with it? My next step is go to Best Buy with the tablet in hand so I can sort of hold up some tablet stuff to it and see if it fits/will work. If you have any better ideas, then I'm all for it.

(It's so irksome to hold all that power in my hands and be unable to use it properly)

I actually do like razer quite a bit, but they inevitable lose points for their not even selling award winning and extremely necessary 'accessories' for the razer edge. That being said, email or call them - their email support has been good, and this is exactly the sort of thing they've helped with. They've also let me send in the device once or twice and helped me with it for free. They'll do the same for you.

Btw all, I'm trying to find a good and speedy way to display the razer edge pro's screen on an hdtv or even a monitor. Does USB 3.0 have any advantages over straight HDMI-HDMI like my laptop can do, for example? What might you guys recommend (you can presume I have access to a monitor as well)?

Hi there Friends, sorry for my poor English : )

Well, I recently bought the Razer Edge Pro system, and I´m very sad about some issues so I hope you can help me. I bought it to an eBay user, and the system had users and software installed from latest ownor so I proceed to format and make a new clean Win 8.1 installation. After this I installed drivers from the Razer Edge support page. Issues I found:

    - Baterry Issue: Sometimes the primary battery is not detected and the tablet goes to hibernation mode. I call this issue the "Spontaneus Hibernation Issue".
    - Graphic controllers Issue: After installing all Windows 8.1 drivers I realized That I had two controllers: Intel Graphics and NVIDIA, and allways the first one is the main controller. Is this correct? But when I connect to a TV by hdmi dock port, I seems that the Tvout is managed by the Nvidia controller, and the main monitor is managed by the Intel Graphics controller... I think that Nvidia controller should be the main controller for anything, am I wrong??? I call this issue: "The mysterious twin controllers".
    - And the last one. RAM issue. After all format and installing proccess I realized that only 4Gb of Ram Memory is detected by the OS(64Bytes OS). When I access the BIOS system, It shows that only 4Gb is connected. Can this be a chipset controller problem? I call this issue: "The stolen RAM memory".

Could someone help me with this mysterious issues??? : )

    Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of USB 3.0 display docks but they are CPU driven. They will be useful for simple office tasks like word processing but you will not be able to use the 640M LE that way. The only way to get the best gaming experience when hooked to a HDTV is to connect via HDMI-HDMI and the only to do that with the Edge is to find the Razer desktop dock =(

One controller is for the Intel 4000 and the other is for the 640M LE. The 640M should kick in either when you have it connected via HDMI or when you load up a game. There is an option in the NVIDIA control panel that lets you force it to always use the 640M if that's what you want to do. Some games might not make it switch automatically so it's useful to know that option anyway. The intel is there to save battery life and for doing simpler things that don't require the 640M such as watching youtube.

The only hibernation I know of is when you hold your hand over one of the sensors in the upper left portion of the Edge. If it's going into hibernation by itself without you doing anything strange, it might just be defective.

    Hi Guys,

I'm here to show you my bag setup for my Razer Edge pro I7 1Tb, I know how it's hard to use the razer edge without accessories (like keyboard, or docking station to get it up) but I've made a custom bag with some accessories. I'm going to show you how it looks.

I will put every link with name of each item, with pictures of course, but please, I don't care of editing picture, I've made something clear to understand, not something beautiful with some kind of visual effect.

    So this is it:

    I. [IMG]

This is the Newfeel Backenger 1st 20L a really strong waterproof bag that you can hold like shoulder strap bag to backpack, really useful when you have lots of weight inside or when you have to run, and honestly I like the design, you have lots of choice about color for a honest price.

Besace et sac à dos ordinateur Backenger 100 NEWFEEL - Sacs à dos Marche quotidienne,...

    II. [IMG]

This is the Higher Ground Shuttle 2.1 11", a slim stronger waterproof bag where I put my Razer Edge pro (see after), in fact this bag is pretty unique because there is two straps that hold up the bottom of the bag, and it doesn't fall when you put the Edge on it. The back is flat so it's the best desk bag that I've found, and really tough but confortable!

This is the Razer Edge with his case, the PU Leather Folio Case Cover for Razer Edge, in fact this is the only cover case for the Razer Edge, it is designed for it with a stand for when you have to put the power supply, and holes for fans and buttons.

Amazon.com: PU Leather Folio Case Cover for Razer Edge / Razer Edge Pro 10.1' Gaming Tablet (Screen Protector Included , Keyboard NO Included): Electronics

    There is four items:

    - Perixx PERIBOARD-510H PLUS : a little usb keyboard (10" netbook like) with two built-in usb 2 hub and a integrated touchpad with two mouse click buttons. It's not the best keyboard ever, but it's little, lightweight, with 2 usb and a touchpad, it works pretty well.

Perixx PERIBOARD-510H PLUS Clavier mini avec TouchPad/Hub USB Noir: Amazon.fr: Informatique

    - Perixx MX-3200, Souris laser gaming, a two way mouse, you can play with it in Wireless mod or in wired mod, there is lots of buttons, and it's the flatest gaming wired/Wireless mouse that I've found on USA/UK/EU, and it's a nice mouse, not the best but it's a pretty good mouse.

    - Retractable EZOPower micro USB cable, on the Perixx MX-3200 mouse, it's the classical thick usb cable, so if you want something smaller and easier to use, you have to take this kind of cable, with a round head, not a square head (thick and it doesn't fit the mouse micro usb port). This cable is long, and strong, so I think it's a good deal for not to much money.

EZOPower Câble Micro USB rétractable de transfert de données /chargeur - 1 mètres / Noir: Amazon.fr: High-tech

    - ORICO W8PH4 usb 3.0 hub 4-port , a little 4 usb 3 hub, I don't know if it's the best, but it's fine, not to big, and a normal rate, but be carefull, if you plug-in a external drive, it has to be supplied by an external power supply.

ORICO W8PH4 usb 3.0 hub 4-port pour Laptop, Ultrabooks und Tablet-PC avec USB3.0 port, support Mac OS X 10.8.4: Amazon.fr: Informatique

Every single things about which I've been speaking until now fit in the Higher Ground Shuttle 2.1 11" with the Razer Edge and its power supply.

From Now on I'm going to show you how it looks:

    I. Razer Edge Pro in PU Leather Folio Case Cover :

II. Razer Edge pro in his case with the Perixx keyboard with one free usb port and Perixx mouse plugged-in the other:

If you need more usb port, just plug-in the 4 usb 3 hub in the tablet and the keyboard to the hub, but no need to use it every time.

III. In the back Pocket of the Higher Ground Shuttle 2.1 11" I've put the power supply and the 4 usb 3 hub:

IV. Now you can see how I organise it, pretty fast, pretty simple, it doesn't move at all, every things remain safe, and it's the same for opening the bag and use the Tablet in desk or tablet mod:

Just to show you how I hold it, don't focus on my clothes lol :

On the first picture the Razer Edge is in the bag, and after it's in my hand, it's fast to remove from it, there is only the keyboard on it, so you just have to make it slide Under while there is the strap that hold both of them.

Ok, now I show how I manage to put that bag in an other bag with my 2TB external drive (a big one with all my backup+ a lot of space for all of thing) + the old ssd drive that I've put in a box to use it as external drive:

    So these are the items:

    - On the left you have two things

    - Seagate - STCA2000200 - Backup plus, a good external TB drive

    Seagate - STCA2000200 - Backup plus Desktop Disque dur externe 3,5'' USB 3.0 2 To - Noir: Amazon.fr: Informatique

    - ZTC Sky Board mSATA to USB3.0 SSD Enclosure Adapter Case - Model ZTC-EN002, a box to put my old ssd drive (now I've 1TB Samsung evo)

ZTC Sky Board mSATA to USB3.0 SSD Enclosure Adapter Case - Model ZTC-EN002: Amazon.fr: Informatique

But guys, if you can find ZOTAC RAIDbox Hard Drive Enclosure mSATA for 2x mSATA Raid 0/1 USB 3.0, buy it instead!

    On the right:

    - FlexARMOR X Par USA, a really strong armor for tablet that I used for the two extra drive

Housse Etui Tablette Microsoft Surface 2, RT & Pro 2, Pro / Dell Venue Pro 11, XPS 10 / Acer Iconia A700 et bien plus de Tablettes: Amazon.fr: High-tech

So this is the final part, HOW TO STORE ALL THIS STUFF IN ONE BAG! Yes I know, I stored bags in a bag, but hey, after this you are sure that your stuff stay safe!

There is a way to follow to be sure that everything fit well and won't move, first the desk bag, after the Razer Edge Gamepad, and finally the drive bag!

    Pessimistic? Have a look :

And I certifie It, it doesn't move at all, and it's really strong and secured! Now the question that you will answer me is:"That's too big, are you really willing to hold it? And I tell you this, it's not so big, in fact it's pretty slim for so much things stored into it!

    See:

Finally, this is the main aim of the Newfeel Backenger 1st 20L, hold everything with a touch of style, there is lots of colours, stormtrooper style that I find so nice! : Backenger 20 L Mess bag/Backpk NEWFEEL - Backpacks - On sale at Decathlon.co.uk

You can ever choose your colours to make the one you want! : MyBackenger Votre sac personnalisable

Hope that will help someone, I've tried lots of bags, case, etc... but this is the best way that I've found. By the way I'm sorry for your eyes, I may have made some grammar mistakes, I'm French, and I have written so much that I'm too lazy to correct anything.

    Cheers from France

P.S: Sorry for French links, but I'm sure that you will find the same items on your country, it's just a way to let you see what I'm talking about.

I've been debating on whether I buy the Razer Blade 14 but after my experience with Razer crapping out on the Edge... I'm not so sure anymore.
