If it degraded very slowly, chances are it just has worn out cells. This happens to most laptop batteries after a few years.
I have been unable to find a replacement internal battery anywhere. If you find one let us know.

One thing I have done to give old batteries new life is replace the internal cells inside them. Most laptops use Lithium Ion 18650 cells. but the Edge has a very unique shaped battery, so I'm not sure which cell types, or even if they use an off the shelf cell. Unfortunately I need a spare Edge battery to disassemble to see what's inside. If anyone has a completely dead one (or random spare) they're willing to toss up for an autopsy send it my way so I can see about helping Edge owners in the future.

this is my main concern in maintaining my Edge. Right now it's fine for me, but I'm worried in the future the battery will simply die and cripple this tablet.

Any tips to keep the battery healthy and in good state?

It's better to cycle the battery through charge and near complete discharge than to leave it plugged in when it's full.

Basically you want to charge it, drain it, charge it, drain it etc, instead of constantly pushing power to it when it's already full. A normal laptop this is easy to deal with, you can just pull the battery, on an Edge your only option is to pull the power when it's fully charged and discharge it until it's low.

Look back from around Page 200 to Page 205. A few people experimented with Windows 10 with success. The only problem most people ran into was the already problematic Razer Display Switch software.

Hello Folks. Nice to find a place to talk about the Razer Edge (google only gives me reviews).

Is there an alternative to the dock? A cable or adapter to connect the tablet to my tv?

You can try a USB3.0 to HDMI graphics adapter but I've heard nothing but terrible problems with them in relation to their drivers. Sometimes causing the need for a full windows reinstall to fix.

I personally use Intel WiDi to watch video on my TV. The stock wifi card can technically handle WiDi but very poorly. I recommend (as most people do) an Intel 7260 AC wifi card, there's also a 7260 N model so make sure you get the right one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106240 Both of those cards are dual band (5ghz+2.4ghz) and also support Intel WiDi, which runs much smoother too. I use a Netgear PTV3000 which also uses the 5ghz band.

WiDi can push high resolutions like 1920x1080 or 1650x1080 @ 30hz refresh, or lower resolutions like 1366x768 or 1280x720 @ 60hz refresh.

Now the downsides; unfortunately this isn't really suitable for fast paced gaming since there is roughly a 1/2 second delay on slower wifi cards, and closer to a 1/10th to 1/4 second delay with faster ones. I mostly use it for video playback but can play more casual games on a big screen. The other big problem I have is clone mode never seems to work properly which only leaves you with the option of extending your display so you have 2 screens, or using the external screen alone.

The setup isn't complicated, but it does take a bit of work and a very small amount of know how. If people are still interested I could try to write up a tutorial with screenshots on how to set it up. I can't record a video of the setup since I need WiDi working to capture any video.

so I bought a Razer Edge Gamepad off ebay. It has been working great for a week, but today, I kinda didn't plug it in correctly, and the gamepad stopped working completely. Windows recognizes it as "Razer Bootloader" but it's not working :(

Please anyone has a solution? I restarted the tablet, tried to update a few drivers, but nothing :(

Sounds like your Gamepad is in Firmware Update mode.
Here is the firmware update software for the Gamepad: http://rzr.to/vwGEJ

I don't have a gamepad myself, so I can't be sure what exactly you have to do to update it or switch it to a normal usable mode. That software should give you a place to start though.

Well, I've seen this post for long ago and i have this problem with the new Nvidia Geforce drivers.
The last Geforce drivers that works on battery at the same GPU speed that with the power adapter are the Geforce 337.61.

I have the Razer Edge Pro with the Gamepad dock and the extended battery and i can't update the geforce drivers for this reason.

There is any solution? Someone knows some work around for this?

I'm going to send an email to Razer support to ask for this and if they can release a new bios to solve this problem.

Repairing a power adapter is usually very easy. As long as the end connecting itself is in good shape it should be repairable.

Has anyone successfully gotten a replacement internal battery from Razer?

I have the pro model that I'm thinking about selling. Bought it off amazon and it's only been played a handful of times. I also have the gamepad controller that works, the dock, the extra battery for the controller, and a nice Swiss army carrying case for it. What do you guys think I could get out of it?

I tested it with benchmark with my REPro w/ 1tb Samsung 840evo and 16gb ram and got 17fps in the benchmark set to low, gave a warning about not meeting minimum req. prob due to the graphics chip being so terrible. I do believe razer edge pro is their low point, the stealth is definitely a better approach with the external enclosure for a gaming GPU. I have an Asus g20aj for my gaming desktop now, upgraded w a gtx980ti and all sorts of other upgrades. Anyway runs well at 70fps on that, so u see what I would prefer playing Divison on lol

I have a Razer Edge Pro 256gb I would like to sell including the dock and the Controller. I also have the recovery stick that comes with the device and everything is functioning normally and is on a fresh installation. It has minor wear on it nothing that is visible from distance and I am wondering how much I would be able to sell this device for and if anyone would want to buy it off. :)

I would recommend eBay, but one tip: break up the lot. It's very rare that you find someone who wants the entire package, most of the time you can get much more just splitting it into the tablet, dock, gamepad etc.

What dock do you have? I'm looking for a good condition keyboard dock if anyone has one.

I want the keyboard dock as well...
Razer should have considered the current owners of edge/edge pro first before discontinuing the accessories...
maybe we can send a request to at least let us order a keyboard dock on a "made to order" basis...

but anyway, any one who wants to sell their edge pro keyboard dock, please?

There are 3 on ebay. But 2 don't have the controller, and the one that does wants $3000!!

But both Microsoft surface 4 and Sony Z Canvas are about 2 and 2.2 times as powerful with iris 540 and 550 graphics respectively.

    That and much better battery.

Only thing is I wish they made the controller for them. That is still what makes the Razer edge cool design. Only worth considering getting one if it has that with it.

You wrong, the Razer Edge Pro is still more powerfull than it, with the fact that it doesn't throttle and there is dedicated gamepad, yes actually it's the only advantages on it, but it still prefer it with the 10 inches screen.

I'm considering to sell one of my gamepad controller for the Edge Pro

So I definitely am going to go ahead and sell my razer edge pro, the gamepad controller, and dock all separately. Razer edge pro for $500, gamepad for around $250, and the dock for around $150. I'll be posting everything to eBay on Monday when I get home from work. I'll like all of my auctions here when I do.
Edit- The gamepad controller also comes with the extra battery

So I was thinking about selling my Edge Pro, and I was just posting on here to see if there was any interest. It is a 128GB model and I have a keyboard dock and battery for it. I am hoping to not have to separate it if possible. Again, just seeing about the interest here.

I really would like the keyboard dock and an extra battery, basically I bought the edge in the first place to have that very setup, but didn't find one on sale with everything so ended up buying one with only the hdmi-dock. And then almost no keyboards were sold, and the ones that were was priced very high.
As GingaBread says, your best bet is to put them out on sale and wee where it goes. I'm not prepared to pay a fortune for any of them, so can't give you a good enough straight offer here to get you to skip going through ebay :)
    Good luck.

I have just bought an edge pro off ebay, and so far I really like it. There is a slight touchscreen glitch, which makes the UX not very good. (Constant shadow touches along the right edge of the screen) I contacted razer support and they asked me to either wait for the EU service centre or send it to the US. Has anybody got any info on import duties to and from the USA? I live in the UK.

    Hello there!

Great to see company here. Currently struggling to get the rig on and running, would love to hear your thoughts.

I got this second Hand razer edge pro with the gamepad from EBay. Have now been using it for a few months. STARTED really well with good fps on high settings with multiple popular titles. A few niggles here and there (the previous owner installed Windows 10, might be the reason behind the malfunction of the screen Rotation.)

Then problems started to pop up all over the place. Firstly, I can't power the thing up without plugging in the charger (with over 90% battery remaining). When I tried to do so, the razer logo popped up for 2 secs and shut itself down.

The major issue is the gamepad. No backlit keys whatsoever, can't play any games anymore.

I know this is an old rig and shouldn't have expected too much from it, but seriously what's going on?

This won't be too much of a help, but maybe points you to the right direction.

I too bought a second hand edge pro, just because I always wanted one but never had 1000+ dollars for it. Mine is a 128gb modell and to my biggest surprise, has a backup partition so I can restore it to the original windows 8 at any time. So first I would try a fresh win8 install then upgrade to 8.1) While this may not solve your problem, personally I like using 8.1 just because I know this is the fully supported os for the edge. (also what does win 10 offer?)

If the problem still exists (there is a pretty good chance it will), you should just contact razer support. You will have to send it to the USA so you can expect additional costs, but at least you will have functioning device.

I'm currently communicating with razer EU support (I live in the UK, and my device has got a touchscreen issue) and once they give me the service center's address I will be able to give you a rough estimate on postage and duty charges.

I think there are no do-it-yourself fixes for this machine but hopefully razer still provides service for the device (keep in my you will have to pay for it and there are no cost estimates in advance)

    Jeff,

I would contact Razer for the Edge restore drive, and go back to Win 8 - do the upgrade to Win 8.1. That way you have full functionality with drivers, the physical keyboard button, rotation etc. DO NOT INSTALL RAZER SYNAPSE, it breaks those. Do not EVER install Synapse. ever!

For the gamepad, download the official firmware from Razer for the gamepad:

    http://dl.razerzone.com/drivers/Edge+Gamepad/win/Razer Edge GamepadFirmware Updater_v1.00.12 v4.exe

(Copy that full line, including the + marks and spaces. It will work).

    Good luck!

For those who are looking for info arround windows 10 on the razer edge (as I did and ended up here) latest version of windows 10 is running fine a few tweaks and the auto rotation work. Hardware buttons as the lock rotation and keyboard must be setup manually. I experience a faster device and longer battery time in w10. 256/i7 version latest batch in Norway

So... my razer edge decided to die on me today and won't hold charge... It will only work while plugged in. I think it shorted as I haven't used it in over a year...

That being said I'm decided to let my accessories go up for sale. If anyone wants first dibs before I list them on ebay I've got a mint condition razer edge dock and the gamepad controller (does not include extra battery).

    And here they go on ebay;
