This was part of duplicate post that got moderated or said i had to wait for a moderator to approve it ? never saw that one here in all my years .

Only in Windows 7 is it inverted so maybe there is something to the firmware and the OS . Maybe they had it running on Windows 7 at one point but it would break Windows 8 and vice versa.

Has anyone heard/seen anything about the gamepad coming back in stock? It seems that even the scalpers don't even have any to scalp right now.

Looks like that joker on ebay took down the almost 200 dollar razer console dock...I really hope someone didn't buy that.

I would love to be able to play Skyrim on this without having to attach and accessory to it. Just using the touchscreen. Is there a mod or anything to make it playable?

What would really be great is a virtual keyboard and touchpad combo.

    kb&tp.jpg

Maybe MS will have this in their next Win8 update.

I think a virtual joystick on screen like Splashtop has done so you can stream PC games to your android or iPad etc would be more pratical because a virtual keyboard would be too awkward in most situations.

You would have a hard time hitting the WASD keys with just your thumb vs using the onscreen joystick.

Still waiting for my Edge to arrive. Slowest shipping ever :(

Overall, is everyone enjoying their Edges? Anyone also own/owned a Surface Pro? Curious which device people prefer. I debated quite a bit and sided with the Edge because of power, expansion options (RAM, hard drive), better gaming verse the Surface Pro which has a better screen & is thinner. Not an easy decision! I have big hands, so I don't think the extra thickness of the Edge will bother me.

I'm having an issue where it seems like 1 out of every 3 startups doesn't load the keyboard to login to Windows8. This seems to be an issue with Windows and not Razer. Only solution I've found is to reboot.

I love the Edge, my computers have been taking a long rest since I received it....Didn't even consider the Surface Pro because I wanted something that could game just about anything I threw at it.... So far so good , will be even better once the dock and gamepad are available.

The razer edge is too me the greatest thing ever because it is what i always wanted from a tablet and that is to run windows and play games with a controller strapped on to it. Resolution is fine and I have had retina MacBooks to iPads to all the alienware laptops in between. For gaming they made the right call in the resolution.

Also people probably have not noticed but you can make your screen a whole lot brighter if you go into the power options and disable the ambient light sensor

It's under the display options in the power menu.

Well the Edge gets pretty warm so I don't think you would want to game like that for a long time. I'm sure it's totally possible and we will probably see more touch friendly games since so many W8 devices have touch screens.

I have both and I'm still enjoying my Edge. I use the Surface Pro at native resolution and DPI and it looks 10x better than the Edge screen to me. The Surface is also much thinner but ironically, it's easier for me to hold the Edge since the screen is a little smaller. I bought the Edge just to use for gaming around the house and at work but it's powerful to easily replace my Surface.

I can't get rid of my Surface because I fell in love with using the Wacom digitizer and Onenote last semester. There is no better note taking solution out there IMO. I still have a couple of years before I finish school and I just can't go back to writing on a regular capacitive screen. If they Edge had Wacom, it would have been even more expensive so I understand why it's not there. I thought about getting rid of my Surface for something like the Ativ but I've already invested too much in the Surface and the kick stand still comes in handy. Even though the Edge is thicker, hotter, and has a lower res screen, it's still a solid device. It has a leg up on the Surface since it has a nice docking station (M$ really dropped the ball on this one). The Edge has no equal when it comes to games. Now all I need is for Razer to produce some more gamepads this year.

I had a surface pro, and found out the razer edge is coming out so I rented it and found out its not too bad but knowing me I wanted more power, then pre order the edgr and never looked back
But for the 14days of surface pro the power cord craped out games started to lag and hd4000 video card has limits

Has anyone heard from Razer as to what the hold up is with the accessories? It just seems very odd. I almost wonder if they're running into quality control issues. I'm also looking forward to the keyboard accessory, if it ever gets released....

I ride the train to and from work each day and my biggest concern with the Surface Pro was how to use it on my lap. Microsoft really needs to release a case that allows for more viewing angles and better lap usability. The keyboard attachment for the Edge will be a must have for me.

Your guess is as good as mine. Razer has said that the keyboard dock will be available Q3. I think we'll probably see about 50 units released with 20 being sent to reviewers and the remaining 30 being allocated between Amazon, Bestbuy, and Razerzone. Better get your F5 key ready!

The tablet to accessory ratio is sadly very broken and they really need someone to speak out about this.

I'm after a spare power supply and I'm not sure it's ever even been for sale at all.

A few questions to Edge owners :)

When streaming HD video 720p-1080p form a server or homegroup computer the video just stop because there is not enough bandwith at least on mine do anyone else experiencing the same?

Someone here upgraded their wireless card to dual band ? I know the only option is this intel 6235AN to keep bluetooth so I order one but I will like to know if someone did this before and it works
Amazon.com: Intel Network 6235AN.HMWWB Centrino WiFi Card Advanced-N 6235 Dual Band Bluetooth Retail: Computers & Accessories

What you guys are doing about the power plug mine just keep falling out Quadzilla already give me couple ideas but I will like to know what you guys think

I cannot comment on streaming media but I wouldn't be surprised if you ran into issues since the stock card isn't dual band. I upgraded to the 6235 and it literally took 5 minutes to install. I then used the intel automatic detect and install and it updated to the latest driver. 5ghz and bluetooth has been working with no issues so far. With the stock card, I couldn't get a full signal when connected via Widi to my TV. I get full bars with the new card when using it in the same spot.

I don't know of any solution to the loose power connecter. The connector isn't completely snug when plugged into my dock so I guess it's a design issue.

Thank you at least I know the ordered card works fine hopefully that solves my streaming issue

I am guessing you don't use the tablet on your hands is always in the docking station right? I don't think that's an issue the problem is with the cable connector

Quad told me the power adapter is even looser on the gamepad plug so when you gaming the cable just keeps coming out

I don't use it in my hands very often. When I do, I don't have the charger plugged in. I really only plug it into the charger when I'm not using it or when I'm gaming.

    Hey Guys,
I called into their support and asked them about this as I thought mine was lose also. They let me know that the adapter should not fit "tight" this is to prevent damage to the unit should someone trip over the cord or something like that so it should just un-plug. Which seems fair mine isn't falling out just doesn't take much effort to un-plug it. If you are fighting to keep your plugged in I'd say contact their support team and let them get you setup for an exchange.

Pulled there contact info from the site:

I got it so you don't have the gamepad like me ? :(

Thank you for calling them of course they are saying that because they can't accept the power cable is not locking up correctly and they don't see that as a flaw
but honestly I had multiple devices in the past like the PS vita and never experienced nothing like this

This may look like I am complaining but no I love the Edge for what it is and I just want to come up with a solution to fix the lose plug

I'm not sure if I can buy that response since other high end devices feature magnetic charging ports to prevent this from happening (Surface Pro and macbook air). Then again, I'm no engineer so I don't even know if it's possible to have a magnetic port on a connector that carries power, data, and video without having some sort of interference. To be fair, I'll be happy with it as it is now as long as it doesn't get more loose over time.

Correct! I'm also chasing the elusive gamepad and I'm to the point now where I wouldn't mind paying a small markup if it meant that I no longer had to refresh Amazon and Razerzone all day.

I am not to glad to hear 2 more people are doing the same that's 2 less possibilities of getting one lol :D

but yeah checking every 30min or so daytime and my friend is checking most of the night time

The problem is DPC Latency issues that's why the video keeps skipping when the bar hits red the video and audio skip this is a big deal

ok. first business trip with the edge.

first off. amazing. i had six rows of people watching me play 2 hours of ace combat. the edge turns heads. its performance blows people away.

second. you cant travel comfortable with the gaming controller if you need to take other things. with the controller it takes the edge from a very comfortable gaming tablet to an awkward travelling companion. its just to big and full of 'bumpy' bits to travel with comfortably unleds you can devote half your carry on space to it.

third. the anti glare really does make a difference. sitting in the lounge here my wife can only see her reflection in her 'i-mirror' and i'm sitting here fully visible.

fourth. battery has been good (with lounge topups) and i managed ti get it charging ok using in seat power (as a test).

question. why are people so desperate to get win7 running? just install start8 (it costs 4.99) and you have the best of both worlds.

Windows 7 to Windows 8 is not just about the look, some things do not run as well or at all on Windows 8 as can be found across the web by different people.

Some people hate Windows 8 for other reasons so it might be purely on principal.

I am of the former reason . I want total compatibility of my stuff like i had on my Windows 7 machines and also hate the idea of Windows 8 being forced down my throat with no option to go back.

The Edge is awesome otherwise :hi2:

I haven't even held the gamepad yet but I can already tell that it would be to unwieldy to take out in public. For the footprint of the tablet and gamepad, it would just be better for me to carry my laptop. When I eventually get a gamepad, I will probably just use it at home. When I go out, I can take my Razer Sabertooth which came with a nice carrying case.

Yes the Gamepad is huge and perfect for at home play but by no stretch something i would want to take everywhere. This is no 3ds or Vita etc, this is 20 of those glued together in terms of portability.

I strapped on a 1tb drive to the back of mine to solve all my storage needs with nothing more then some carbon fiber tape. Running the drive naked and using a dismantled USB 3.0 caddy adapter it really did not add much if any weight to the already huge controller.

It did solve all my storage problems though

There's a wireless hard drive that you can look into. I don't know if it's fast enough to stream games from but you can stream HD movies to multiple devices at the same time. I've been thinking about grabbing one once the price drops to around $100.
Amazon.com: Seagate Wireless Plus 1 TB Mobile Device Storage with Built-In Wi-Fi Streaming (STCK1000100): Computers & Accessories

I noticed the range and performance is on par with my Surface Pro. It's pretty fast but isn't going to break any records. I haven't downloaded any new games yet but when I used the stock card, my steam downloads took forever. It's a pretty good upgrade especially since it's only 20 bucks.

Yep i know all about that but its not fast enough and it has all kinds of issues and restrictions plus i need to keep it plugged in or charged all the time where is if i was going to try and stream games wireless i would just use my desktop drives and network to stream from .

I am more then satisfied how it turned out and i would be mounting it in the battery bay but i really need more then 500gigs which is the largest mechanical drive that is 7mm to fit in there and the 960gb SSD from crucial is just too expensive. I wlll never buy the extended battery as even 2 hours is just not enough unplugged time plus you take a performance hit on top of that so yeah i will remained tethered to the wall while gaming and have no problem with that .

Yeah I don't much understand that as to raise the price even more when it was not selling for $70 less.

I guess he is not pressed for money and frankly there are no accessories available aside from that lowly over priced dock.

Someone will probably cave in eventually and buy it when they have given up all hope trying to pay the normal price.

Neat trick i discovered if you are in a game and want to get back to the desktop but the home button will not take you there.

Hit the Home+Power key at the same time and that will bring up the task manager so you can get back to the desktop that way.

Figured it might help since we have no way to Alt+Tab or the usual things we do with a keyboard.

Razer is revealing their new Blade Pro... no word on the complete lack of accessories for the Edge Pro.

That's right Razer, make new products when you can't even supply the ones you already have.

They should at least release a statement to say what the hold up is.

Any chance we see a refresh with 700M series GPU?
Now that we hear news for new laptops it would be awesome for a bump in GPU power.

It's Razer so anything is possible. They updated the Blade 6-7 months after it was released and now it's just been refreshed again. The Edge is designed in a way that it wouldn't take much effort for them to update the cpu or gpu.

I don't think so. Clearly his right thumb is using some sort of touchdisc. The comfort kb is thing is prettly lame as there is no touchpad or mouse api calls even made. All it is is some sort of overlay image to activate the keyscans. This touchdisc seems to be feeding the mouse for directinput for the skyrim window. Then he even does some multitouch pinch and zoom gestures on the skyrim window itself.

The touchscreen is actually a giant fullscreen mouse itself. Then one little portion of the screen becomes another mouse that actually drives virtually another mouse driver. This seems synonymous to having two mice connected. directinput would intercept only one mouse and the other mouse would be able to manipulate the Windows desktop.

Maybe this Russian guy tricked out the 360 controller setting in skyrim? I've never used it, but does one stick act analogly like a mouse?

Anyone having trouble with the sensor? The HID Sensor Collection occasionally stops working and the Simple Device Orientation Sensor in device manager disappears but always seems to work after I uninstall them and restart.

What do you guys think about a Razer Edge refresh this year (and possibly a price drop)? I've always wanted to get one of these, but I think Razer may be upgrading the Edge soon.
