    Well here it is :

    In: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> ControlSet001 ->Control -> Class -> {4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} -> 0000

    KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (1)

Change value from 1 to 0 (from ONE to ZERO).

Do that for brightness on Windows 8 with an AMD card with any set of drivers past present or future. :)

    Don't forget to reboob afterwards.

I have the W860CU as you see on my sig and I would like to ask if I can install the Windows 8 chipset drivers that are on the 1st post? Because I can't seem to find Windows 8 drivers for my specific model, so I need to stick with Windows 7 ones while using Win 8. Is it possible to install those ones, or conflicts will happen?

Yes, the INF setup supports nearly all chipsets going back 10 years.

And TBH, you don't need to install it. Windows 8 comes with nearly all the drivers you need, definitely the chipset. The only drivers you may need to install separate are graphics drivers, realtek and card reader.

Same here. Subwoofer on P150HM not working. Newer drivers installed - Realtek Audio v7040, THX v1.04.12, also tried original drivers from CD. I had Windows 8, now I'm on Windows 8.1. Both with non working subwoofer. With external 5.1 speakers I can hear low sounds, with internal speakers I can't... Any solutions? Please :)

Your backlit issue could be BIOS related.

My manufacturer sent me a BIOS update because after doing nothing my backlit stopped working with winodws 7... I tried every version of hotkey nothing helped then contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a BIOS update which I haven't tried yet mostly because I switched to windows 8.1.

The backlit is now working again with latest version of hotkeys from clevo website drivers. (I should mention I have a P150SM). Also I had BSOD with driver errors since windows 8.1 and it was related to a bluetooth driver. I found out by enabling windows minidump and read the file with BlueScreenView. Really handy !

I m not recommending windows 8.1, I kinda migrated because BF4 bumped my FPS by 20 and after a lot of reviews on W8/8.1, it seems better than W7 for gaming now... Bad luck.. Anyway if you have a spare GBs on a disk you can try windows 8 partition and see if the backlit is coming back to life after a fresh install and try driver by driver until it fails or not, or try a BIOS update...

    Hope it helps.

I fixed it magically... Uninstalled realtek and than i deleted driver that windows found.... restarted and windows found that default driver again.... and tried woofer with sample woofer sounds downloaded from net.... and viola, woofer made sounds :) i had to use 100% volume thou.... But I heard it clearly and loudly and my P150HM vibrated. it was 20 to 100 hertz.... or MHz? don't know now, but i heard only 60-100.... then I tried install again my Realtek and it still works. Movies without external speakers are again worth it.... I tried latest version from this site named Realtek(NO THX) and since then when I change THX sliders, nothing happens... that is obviously means what it means :-D. so i will try this latest and i will see.... Yo, and i use win 8.1. since my brightness works again and now even woofer, i feel again whole :-D

    Anyone?

Thanks to all the knowledgeable people here, especially those who maintain the thread! There's lots of great info in this thread, but after reading through it all I still just want to make sure that these drivers apply to my specific system, Clevo W150ERQ. Thanks!

Is it worth it to install Intel Rapid START Technology? I wouldn't mind if the computer booted up quicker from a hibernation state.

I started to install this but right away ran into a problem, most likely due to my ignorance. The Intel directions say to boot into BIOS and find the setting for "Power/Intel Rapid Start Technology" and enable it, then to set the hibernation to "immediately." I can't find anything referring to RST in my BIOS. Does this mean I can't use Rapid Start Technology? Clevo W150ERQ, bios is the most recent version. Thanks in advance.

I tried so many times different setups that I'm all confused whatever I ready did.... but it works. Here are my specs: Win8.1x64, AMD_Catalyst_13.11_Mobility_BetaV7, Realtek Audio 64bit_Win81_R272, and i tried THX v1.04.12 and original THX from DVD, in both THX configurations woofer works, I can hear it but actual THX no mater what slider I move it does not change anything as it used to long time ago

as for the test from that rar file - I played it in VLC with volume on 100%(actually it is 200% in VLC) and also windows volume is 100% to hear it clearly. When I moved volume in windows to my regular 50% I did not hear that woofer, so it looked like it does not work... But with volume on MAX I could hear it well. And when I play movies or music of course I have regular low volume but the woofer sounds are noticeable.

Same configuration here. To be sure that subwoofer work, usually I perform a simple test: in realtek drivers panel, with 5.1 configuration set, when subwoofer worked, it worked also the test sound on center speaker and rear left/right speaker. In fact, when subwoofer work, it mean that system redirect correctly the sound in a virtual 5.1 or 7.1 enviroment. So, performing new test to let subwoofer working, my easiest way is to set the drivers in a 5.1/7.1 mode and check if center speaker and rear spearkers working. I do not need to test subwoofer bass frequency with special audio samples.

Anyway, i was asking you if... after realtek drivers uninstall and default drivers uninstall, you have also cleaned the THX installation... and then if you reinstalled everything with a special sequence...

Cause here it seem that there is no way to let this damn audio working!

that's the thing as i wrote before.... I tried so many times all possible ways that I don't even know if i uninstalled THX or not... definitely finally I did as I also tried THX from original driver DVD. And somewhere between that the woofer started to work... As I remember first time I noticed I had default audio from win8.1 installed, so i did not have Realtek panel and I played those audio files.. I also played with default audio panel sliders and tried to change different scenarios..... (Speakers Properties and so on)

So, I'm very sorry but I don't have exact info how to make it work, just remember that I uninstalled Realtek, I deleted after restart that default driver and restarted again.... and somehow....

    - Edited post to complete - just checked Realtek HD Audio Manager now and I have only stereo speakers configuration set so there is NO front or back speakers available neither woofer check..... and my woofer still works when I play bass sounds

    - Edit 2 - I tried to select 5.1 or 7.1 and only left and right stereo speakers works..... No front or back or woofer sound check working. It is the same as stereo, but the woofer still plays bass sounds. I don't understand now....

Really strange.... the complete working drivers should let work the 5.1/7.1 emulation with tests... cause also in stereo mode in some way, you can feel the bass working, but I think they are emulated from frontal speaker, not from sub...(best way could be put the hand under the subwoofer speaker and feel the real vibration made by air).... anyway.. a complete working set drivers have to let work every 5.1/7.1 in virtual emulation... that's the best way to ensure to have a working drivers... only once I did it, but there was something bad in configuration that I'm still not able to reproduce... that's frustrating...

of course there is vibrations from woofer when I tested.... U can tell if woofer works or not, I know very well that flat sound from those mini notebook speakers.. since that change I wrote about there is nice rich sound coming out of those speakers.... so I guess I have some kind half working driver since my quadro, 5.1 and 7.1 configuration tests as stereo only.... and not to forget, also THX seems not to do anything... But for sure I feel the woofer.

    I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!

Everything totally working, 5.1 virtual speakers, every single test on speaker, subwoofer and THX!!! I was able to fing again the only totally working drivers with Windows 8/8.1. They are the release 6971 ( I had already on my pc, but they was not working after the only time i was able the fix it)

I have not checked if the download link is the righ link, but anyway look for 69.71

download here Realtek HD audio R2.71. 6971 WHQL | Software World

Procedure: i simple installed over the 2.72 official these drivers, system automatically unininstall previous first and then install the one i linked.

IF THX will not works, tell me and i will link other different THX drivers (also if release many times is the same, internal kernel change i suppose)

Oh, I forgot one more thing: to be absolutely sure that your sub is working, the true bass test I Always use is this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC7WEQsiz08

Made from THX. If soud is correctly redirected to subwoofer, you will clearly hear it... otherwise you will hear no sound.... there are two only ways... It can work or not, that test cannot be emulated by frontal speakers due to frequencies if you have a well working 5.1 virtual enviroment.

Nope still doesn't work for me :(

THX only has headphones or external speakers in the settings (no internal speakers).

So which THX are you using? I'm using the Windows 8 THX download for the P1x0EM series on the Clevo site.

EDIT: Ok seems to work if I select headphones although not ideal as it uses a different sound profile to the old internal speakers selection.

I tried your way, you made my day :) before i heard woofer on volume from 80% to 100%, now I can clearly hear it on 40%, before test sound on Realtek panel 5.1 or 7.1 worked as stereo, now as you said works every speaker. For THX I used this link - http://files.sagernotebook.com/Sagernotebook/misc/13_THX_NP81X0.exe
If you see after install THX on your desktop icon named Activate, than you have right version, otherwise it installs but THX does't really work

    Hello.
I own a Clevo P150 HM and have a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n COMBO PCI-E NIC installed as my wireless adapter.
Anyone knows where I can get a driver update? I would look it up in Google but I feel safer if you guys are the ones giving the advice.

    Thanks a lot.

His BIOS is usually safe to use on the machine that its intended for, however you should follow strict instructions and NOT do the BIOS update unless you REALLY need to!!!

    Hello everybody.
    I have a Clevo 150EM
I am having some problems with my USB 3.0.
My external harddrive is constantly disconnecting (only when connected to my usb 3 ports), and my Razer taipan is often not recognized.

Is there any newer USB driver than on clevos site?
Can I use the renesas drivers posted on the first page?
The Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller page says that its only for second generation of intel processors? I have the third.

    Hey zylor,

Have you installed the usual prerequisite drivers/software? e.g. chipset drivers, .NET frameworks, Java x86 and x64 versions, C++ redistributable's first batch of windows updates.

good place to start is with Java -> Intel Driver Update Utility, automatically checks if your up to date with intel products on your system, chipset being the most important -> .NET 4.

Start off with the above, generally this should allow you to get other drivers up and running, then do windows updates for fixes and C++ redist's, then everything should be straight forward from there.

    Good luck!

I just bought the Eurocom X5 without Windows. I installed my own Windows 7 and I cannot find drivers for Clevo p177SM Windows 7 on the Clevo website. Which drivers do you recommend download, and what order do you recommend installing them?

    Thanks!
