Anyone tried Firefall ?
It seems to be affected by the enduro issue as well.
Defiance alpha seems seems ok.

Fix your computer then. Firefall works fine.

I'm not sure why you ask if you already know the answer. Make sure you are not on the battery and you are on high performance. What beta driver do you use ? You can run 3d mark 11 or 3d mark 06 to see if your beta driver work.
The only time you should see under utilization is when something else bottleneck the fps, like the CPU. In this case you can check this by turning off option who use CPU and check if you gain a lots of fps. ( Number of objects and Shadow usually use CPU ) -
BF3 uses multi threading properly. No CPU bottleneck or under utilization.
-
ahaaa,,
Nah, never leaves the cord and is always on High performance. Was playing skyrim just before with max settings hd textures, and was a solid 60 fps. (even in frigen whiterun)
Sorry, I forgot the information about it. Um, I tried both latest, 12.11P and beta 11, both gave almost the same gpu usage.
The game itself was running high with shadows turned down to low actually.
other than that, nothing ab-normal about the situation. ( ill test the 3d mark scores when i get home)
Edit1: would anyone who has the game provide a screen shot of gameplay and gpu usage?
Edit2: each cpu thread is averaging about 50% in game. strange to say the least. -

Lol, yeah I love this guy's blunt answers. Blindly defends his beloved 7970m when its clear the card still has definite problems with it. -
I agree, but for his defence i did not noticed anything wierd with firefall. To know if enduro cripple your game, try to lower setting/resolution. If you don't gain much fps it's maybe enduro issue.
@kookiesandmilf
My BF3 is not installed since i spend all my time on planetside 2 ( really love this game
). But you should have 90% + utilization. Try to run 3d mark 11 and post your score to see if your driver work fine.
-
With a good install you can get 99% utilization using the 12.11 P drivers. While I still have some issues launching BF3 (white screen ntdll.dll crash error), can average 55-60 fps with most stettings on ultra, and a few turned down to high. Motion Blur off.

Didn't know I sounded like I was defending anything ?
I was just asking what setting he was using and I saidSince I can't check the usage on afterburn with the last drivers I'm asking advice here.
Answer like fix your computer won't help much if you don't give a bit of information, that was the blunt answer. -
They're talking about hulawafu. He attacks anyone that even remotely mentions having an issue with Enduro.
-
Not attack, advise. Fix your computer. Just like the threads about the atidxx32.dll issue, I had it too. But then I fixed it, instead of blaming AMD drivers and AMD. And the people who complain about Enduro? It's pretty much the same 3 over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Instead of just fixing their machine. I would bet there are more Clevo machines sold with 7970M than 680M, yet sure is weird that almost ALL the complaints are from the same three, over and over.
And of course I don't deny there are some performance issues that AMD needs to work out and it's not just mobile, it's any GCN. When you say attack, it's when people complain about games that have issues that have nothing to do with Enduro. Like PhysX games for example.
Whatever, can keep you head in the sand and scream ENDURO ENDURO all you want or you can fix your machine and sometimes google to see what the real issue is. Like one complaint was, having performance issues with GTA IV, which is notorious for bad PC optimization. It's a bit hilarious sometimes. -
I think this is also a consequence of AMD's poor way of handling the whole situation. Had they come forward with an official explanation of the issue and with a preliminary action plan, much of the misinformation and doubt regarding Enduro and the cards would have been diminished. What their silence did, was actually make the issue EVEN bigger than its was in the minds of their customers, making Enduro an all too convenient scapegoat for all the problems people have been facing. Their silence and obscurity had long reaching impact, and I doubt the "taint" will quickly disappear from the thoughts of those who experienced it. I must say, that I would have rather taken a blatant lie (ala Nvidia), than be totally neglected for so long.
-
So here it is, almost January, and there is no 12.11WHQL. I'm guessing they plan on skipping 12.12 entirely?
-
i dont really mind. just hope they get it right.
-
Yes I do as well, but only to an extent. If it takes an extremely long time I can say that for me personally the card had very little value. (I cant use it for almost any 3D gaming/simming/development till today as I get same perf on 280M anyway) There is a certain life of a performance product as well, if they don't get it right in say 1.5 years total (it's more than 0.5 years already) then what's the point of the price right?
-
I had the 7970m. Never. Again. I'm green for life now. 680m sli. Although amd had a good card for its price, overall nvidia makes for a much better cleaner, Safer and worry free Consumer experience. I don't have to worry about fixing anything anymore.

There was supposed to be another Enduro specific update in Dec/Jan, so let's see what we get. Couldn't care less about the WHQL stamp, just want a stable and easy-to-install driver package with the promised max 1-5% Enduro performance hit.
-
Time for 13.1!
-
Come on out already! Let's hope they don't screw this one over...
-
my laptop should be here in a weeks time *crosses fingers*
i hope they release a solid stable driver by then.
-
Seriously, lol. Last stable driver happened 3 months ago.

I haven't had BSODs in months, so I'm happy with 12.11. I'd be happier if 13.1 improved performance further though
-
In the middle of the year AMD announced they are moving from a monthly WHQL cycle to an as needed cycle, with more performance and hotfix driver releases. They WHQL drivers will be released 'as they make sense' which basically means when there is enough fixes and changes to warranty WHQL testing and certification for a full release.
-
I have to keep deleting user.bib otherwise I can't use CCC. It's getting annoying with it constantly crashing. I really don't want to go back to stock CCC which is the only one that doesn't crash on me (haven't tried 12.10, that one might work?) due to the limited options. That, and I get the occasional BSOD on booting. Also, it would be great if we got Afterburner, GPU-Z, and so on working again.
Eh... There's still no drivers out for AC3 and FC3 which I believe they promised, and there's some serious issues with those games right now. Honestly though, if they just ironed out all the bugs with the 12.11 betas and combined the performance from both beta 11 and "performance" drivers, I think a lot of us would be happy. -
After playing this game for more than a month, i just want to apologize for thinking he was affected by enduro. I don't want to mislead the new user, so we getting poor fps at every setting because we have a huge CPU bottleneck with the few hundred players fight. And Nvidea running a bit better because PhysX is running by defaut and you can't disable it in game, you need to disable it in the Useroption.ini. And BTW if you want a lots more fps just reduce your render distance and disable shadow in the Useroption.ini.
It's was a honest mistake and i'm sorry. This game is a lots of fun ! -
I haven't had any issues and I've been using the "performance" driver since it was released. Though strangely enough, every once and a while when I restart my laptop I am not able to activate my graphics card. (When I look in the task manager, it looks like it has something to do with the "MMLoadDrvPXDiscrete.exe" hanging...) Nevertheless, after a quick uninstall/reinstall of the drivers I'm back up and running. Everything has been running really smoothly though with no BSODs, so this is pretty strange; hopefully the WHQL will be a little more stable.
-
The 12.11P driver is really good because it was designed for 7970M users, but AMD screwed one little thing up that keeps the GPU from switching over, and here we are still waiting for a driver that has been through proper QA. I also noticed MMLoadDrvPXDiscrete.exe using a set amount of CPU continuously, but ending the task did nothing to help the GPU switch over when I was using 12.11P.
Right now I'm wondering what the next driver may provide. I'd rather have a driver that has no bugs than one that has the same and/or more bugs with better performance. -
I prefer better performance, i used 12.11 P for a while and now i have 12.11 beta 11, i think they are almost the same.
BSODs are pretty much under control by restarting unplugged or setting powerplay to max battery plugged in (then resetting it to max perf when playing).
Of course i would like a stable driver, but if they can improve performance in any way i sure prefer that if you ask me.
Has someone tested Sleeping dogs with 12.11 beta 11?
I recently installed this game and tested it on full graphic settings (i maxed everything), i get avg 25 to 30 fps, wich is surprisingly smooth.
What worries me is that my GPU temp goes as high as 94C if i dont use FN+1 (wich lowers it to 87 or so). Its the highest GPU (and CPU) temps i have ever experiened in my P150 EM, this machine is only 3 months old and has ICDiamond goo on its rig.
With other games my GPU temp never goes over 83C without using FN+1 and usually i see temps around 75C.
Has someone else seen similar results?
I must add room temp was around 26-28 C, quite high. -
25 to 30 fps would indicate under-utilisation, I average 50+ FPS with almost everything at max.
-
Yeah, I was getting around 45ish on beta 3.
-
utilization meassures 99%, i really didnt leave a thing under max, even 3D settings, can you reccomend settings so i could get around 50?
I must add i havent played much, only installed and tested a while, i didnt even meassure avg fps with fraps, but was looking at fps on screen.
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I got 50+ fps now, i think i was playing the game with powerplay set for maxing battery plugged in, lol

Frames: 17521 - Time: 180000ms - Avg: 97.339 - Min: 55 - Max: 147
Ah and i must add the temp is back to normal now, around 80 to 83C without using FN+1 -
Just went to fill out another survey regarding the current POS driver for this card, to find it has closed. Would this indicate AMD is about to drop the next (hopefully actually decent) driver?
-
Is anyone else experiencing horrible FPS in Spec Ops with the 12.11P drivers? I get constant sub-25 FPS, yet utilisation is apparently around 90%. Any help?
EDIT: Apparently my card wasn't upclocking properly... no wonder it ran like crap with the core and memory speeds staying at desktop values! It's working again now, though I have no idea why. -
AMD is releasing 13.1 on Wednesday:
https://twitter.com/CatalystCreator -
Awesome. Also new beta drivers. I just hope 13.1 is as stable as stock.
-
mother of god. it's quite exciting. im not gonna lie.
-
Plugged in?
-
lol, i bet we are all going to dowload and install the new betas and keep suffering with instability and what not, guess thats just what we all love, rofl.
-
I'll probably do so, cause my gues is that 13.1 will be just 12.11 beta with a whql stamp. the new betas will hopefully bring something new to the table, there are still a lot of games that suffer from enduro and some aren't even working like F1 2012.
-
Betas don't equal unstable drivers. There is often very little difference between a beta and a WHQL driver of the same branch (usually only the WHQL stamp...).
-
No it's because the drivers keep being so unsatisfactory. For example I have a D900F with a 280m in it, and its been fine with two or three driver updates in nearly 4 years.
-
I took week off from Minecraft, and when I went back to play it today, I was disturbed by how choppy the game looked. I thought 13.2 beta might have caused an issue, so I reverted back to 13.1. Same problem.
Even at 60FPS, I am seeing terrible frame latency issues in Minecraft. I guess I just got used to it when I was playing it, but with a fresh mind it looks so off. Not smooth at all. Little jumps here and there, and tearing too (with vsync). The game goes well over 60FPS with vsync off, but interestingly enough, the game is even choppier at frame rates over 60.
Has anyone else noticed this? -
Have you tried to force AA through CCC?
-
I have not.
