It is a modified Enduro driver. (only Clevo 7970m)
-
What were the modifications?

-
LeeKM, can you share how you made the modification, and if not could you at least let AMD know so they can implement the modification? Also, how does it affect DX9 games like GTA IV?

I take it directx9 is still borked on most games? Trying to play Alice: Madness Returns and am only getting 20-40% utilization and 15-30FPS. I'm assuming the game is locked at 30, but that doesn't explain the freaking 15FPS I get most of the time.
-
Ok, now my 7970m is going up to 102c, just by starting dota 2, not even playing. How's this happening? I just installed windows 8. No idea if I got the right drivers or anything. It's nice that I had to plunk down the money to get a gaming laptop just when enduro is messed up

Graphics Card:
AMD Radeon 7970M
AMD Catalyst Driver Version:
13.2 Beta 5
Operating System:
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Issue Details:
Far Cry 3: Texture load flickering. When you move around the map and it has to load new sections of the map, I usually encounter a brief white or grey texture for about half a second.
Natural Selection 2: VERY bad performance with 940/1200Mhz (12FPS) on max settings??? If i bump up the Core to 950/1200 then it's a smooth 62FPS. (Possibly a fluke IDK)
MSI Afterburner (13.2): Clock speeds will NOT sync across other Clocking/Monitor utility's... For example, If i overclock in Overdrive it will not show that speed running is Afterburner, Vice versa.
Iron Front Liberation: Terrible performance, I mean i get better FPS in Metro 2033 on ultra than this on high.
Doom 3: Textures are all Jacked up, Green and purple everywhere...
GTA: SA: Game is virtually unplayable... Textures are all messed up, all kinds of weird glitches and issues that are confirmed caused by the drivers/GPU. Terrible FPS, Graphical issues and colors...
Games with under-utilization issue:
Far Cry 3, Iron Front Liberation (Major performance issues), GTA: SA (MAJOR ISSUES) Doom 3 BFG.
CPU Details:
Core i7 720qm
Motherboard or System Make & Model:
Eurocom W860CU
Motherboard BIOS Version:
1.0.0.14 EC 11 (Eurocom) -
Erm... You'll probably be the only one to say Far Cry 3 has under-utilization issues. It runs at near 60FPS maxed out at 1080 on dx9, and between 20-40 on DX11 with 2x AA.
-
With dx11 I get black shadow boxes around stuff, and in fullscreen it crashes.

Make sure you guys are reporting issues directly to AMD. The driver team won't know what to fix if you don't let them know. Here are links to the reporting forms:

How is utilization in Battlefield 3 with 13.2 beta? Any games that still suffer badly from underutilization? -
with 13.2 beta and 13.1 - big underutilizaton in many games like bf3 , borderlands 2 , crysis3, 2,1 ,shift 2 , farcry 3. etc etc especially with disabled AA. I can not look at the situation optimistically, I think that AMD will NEVER solve the problem with Ednuro. My next laptop will be with Nvidia card I bet. Such behavior AMD loses customers, that is a disaster for any self-respecting company -
great! keep reporting. I dont share your pesimism tho, i cannot be happier with my card and i think AMD is making huge steps in the right direction, underutilization can even be good if the fps are enough to play smoothly.
As for underutilization i see values around 70% usage for starcraft II (what i am currently playing), althou i really dont miss any fps or smoothness, is entirely enjoyable at maxed settings, so i wont report this at all. Havent tested much else, will check some other games (again) later and tell you all. -

It appears that ARMA II Is like only using 60% of my gpu on Very high? Only getting like 40-60FPS.. Is this just me, or can someone confirm this for me?
-
Just a heads up. 13.7 beta is out.
-
Skyrim: Same as others 13.2 betas which means the game runs good on most times (60fps) however in some cities like Riften I am getting less than 30 FPS.
BF3: Enduro is still a big problem here, most of times i can't get more than 30fps, especially in big maps like Caspian Border and Op. Firestorm.
GTA IV: Still unplayable on very high specs in my opinion.
Chivalry: I can only get decents frame rates in close areas, when I go to an "open view" of the map the fps drops a lot.
Crysis 1: The game stays above 30 fps on most times on DX9 (high quality), just in some areas I am getting less than that. -
skyrim: i get constant 60, despite being in towns. just turn shadows down to low or med, its a killer on cpu.
BF3: very low utilization is due to latest update. before that specific update, the lowest usage it would go to was 85% even on big maps.
GTA IV: i dont think this is going to be improved. the game is just a terrible console port, and is know to run terrible on high end rigs
Chivaly: i haven't played this, but try turning down reflections and shadows should help you out a little.
Crysis 1: i never dipped below 30 tbh... -

Same driver as the 13.2 b6 Exept the optimizations for Crysis 3, So unless you play Cry3 it's pointless to upgrade as their is no improvements. -
-
-
Which drivers are you guys using?, I have 13.2 beta 6 on my P150EM and I avg 40 fps and get around 97& utilization on GTA 4
-
Interesting how it is March now, and mobile drivers haven't really been improved in any meaningful way since last year with 12.11 beta. I just realized that back in August last year, we were all expecting the mobile drivers (and GCN drivers in general) to be perfect by now.

Where is that patch we were promised to fix fps on DX9 games with enduro?
Any as for under utilization, I play world of tanks and they recently changed some stuff on the graphics side that made me lose some fps when every thing is maxed out. To compensate I tried lowering the quality of the graphics, funny thing is that the game runs better at max out settings than with minimal settings or medium settings... with the lowest possible graphics settings I had an GPU utilization of a whooping 24%...
Why is ATI getting fixes for specific games while the base drivers aren't yet fully developed? >< -
update on utilization on Bioshock Infinite. Under utilization is almost no existent. never goes below 94% ever.
Running 13.3beta -
Bioshock runs like a dream. 13.1 drivers.
-
well they did actually put mass amounts of effort and time into optimizing the pc version, unlike most companies. So props to them!
consistent 60 frames on ultra, with shadows turned down. such a great game. -

so then, a year has passed since 7970m was released and under-utilization issue is still not fixed.. makes you wonder if assumption that dma bandwidth is bottlenecking enduro was correct after all?
-
-
i think the fact that nearly each game has to be driver optimized to run at decent utilization kinda points to a hardware issue, especially when the same 7970m still runs those games much better without enduro. remember different game engines will use different techniques to render, some are probably less affected by dma bottleneck than others.

this new driver compatible with intel lastest driver?
-
update: this driver makes my 7970m fail to idle
-
I think the driver was just designed for a specific desktop card and modified to work with other cards. The next WHQL should be good, but if it isn't I will definitely join in on putting a bit of pressure back onto AMD.
-
Well, just updating, new AMD drivers out.
So far it seems they work ok, but it has issues with latest intel drivers (9.17.10.2932 works ok..) -
Hi guys! Haven't played on my NP9150 for months due to school. Last night, i decided to update the drivers to 13.4 whql. What I'm upset about is that i can never achieve fps greater than 30 when playing skyrim on ULTRA. MY last driver was 12.11 and skyrim was with that driver due to massive artifacts. I'm really disappointed as i see benchmarks of the np9150 w/ 7970m reaching 50+ fps on ultra on skyrim. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Really wanted to play skyrim for a long time... at reasonable fps..
