That was on the old card with a very trashy VRM or have you heard about this one.

@andrewff2 what are the VRM chips?

O yeah i tried to flash using a random bios chip type what i cared was it to be 256kb but it did not work the flash worked but when the computer was turned on it beeps like 3x per second loud and fast (i hope i did not kill the card) so i'm lost right now, tried to find another programmer softwares but no deal ... @bennyg you mentioned that u have the same bios chip what program did u use because mine doesn't have the bios type in its database??? do you have the details about it can you send me? i will try to manually insert the values

By the way this is my programmer chip:

    IMG_20181227_024713.jpg

I downloaded from HERE the version 1.4 (newer than mine 1.18)

Tried right now and this is my message:

    upload_2018-12-27_3-14-40.png

O yeah the bios 25 SPI FLASH 2MByte/16MBit is right?? when i click the detect button it gives me the chip info: 9D125312 but when i googled it did not find anything about it :/

Well tried some of those softwares and flashing the bios and the same problem the computer when was turned on beeped like 3x per second loud and fast, because i cannot flash the original rom i don't know if this tinkering damaged the card...

6AM here will try to sleep (i'm on my Christmas vacation)

Have you modified the vbios you took off the card

Did you erase the chip before programming it

It detects as i showed in the image but the problem is the "profile" it doesn't change if i detect it even if i put in another profile and click detect it doesnt change to other so i'm like ok i can read but to flash the rom back i need to know which profile is the right one to use because of the data that will be written in there (that stuff about the data table and de actual data)

I'm not familair with the 1.4 version, usually I use the 1.29 it seems more reliable.

It has to be run as admin, or else u get driver error.

the most weird is that it read`s it erases but when it writes in the process of writing it jumps from 27% to 100% nad when i read there`s a lot of weird data in the middle of the Addresses

It's not weird, it's normal because your programmer tries to fill 2MB with FF's on the chip. Your BIOS size is like 200KB.

Using version 1.29 but as you can see it detects as unknown....

    upload_2018-12-27_13-17-43.png

so which type Manufacturer and name should i use when the chip name is IS25w0040

I know that that's why i'm asking wich option of those should i use for this kind of chip because the programmer CH341A software v1.29 doesn't have this model i even asked @bennyg how did he do it because he mentioned that his card have the same kind of chip

unknown is fine, it will find something compatible.

Flashed multiple pascal cardds with the 1.29 version and a CH341A while it said unknown while taking some random chip that only had the size in common without any issues.

How exacly is there no difference?
    What is your procedure?

This is what you're supposed to do:
    read
verify (check if it read correcly), if yes then:
    delete all
    open your custom rom
    Write
verify (if it says it's veryfied then bingo, you got custom vBios)

Didn't notice on the picture but yeah, this is indeed strange. I usually use the black PCB CH341A not the "skypro CH341A" like he has so my code looks normal.

Maybe load a modded firmware again into the programmer and write it into the chip?

Yeah it worked fine (using the other card right now).... as @Danishblunt said use a random chip with the same size and it works!!

So now is the big question... why i can't just go down in wattage and the card doesn't work... i'm only using TDP TWEAK and i'm always using the same programmer software 1.29 (as @Danishblunt told me)

now should i just use "Mobile Pascal TDP Tweaker 1.12" and go down in the wattage?!

    upload_2018-12-27_20-48-3.png

    I'm just changing this...

And its weird because it substracts like 2KB data.. that`s not right! right??!? (I think)

I'm not sure if you need to click "preset" but why not just click adjustable, then you can use MSI Afterburner to go down in power by reducing the TDP ?

Good, so you know its not the programmer and at least nothing's bricked.

There are edits that the tool does other than altering bits, so file size does change. Normal.

Use the vbios that you now know works, as your template in the tweak tool.

You have to set the power slider to adjustable in the flasher program first.

OK. That vbios might just be incompatible with the tweak tool. Though I've randomly ended up with the occasional brick vbios from vbios that does work, so try as few changes as possible and start from the clean original rom each time.

Voltage slider in MSI AB does nothing for me, the only benefit of the voltage unlock procedure is for voltage monitoring. What it's supposed to do is overvolt, which is the opposite of what you want on a power limited gpu.

The power limit slider is greyed out if unavailable like the temp and voltage sliders are by default on all mobile gpus. It lights up and you can move the slider only when unlocked (adjustable check box) - you can go all the way down to zero (but will instacrash if you do) and the maximum will be whatever % your 'limit' is set over 'target' as it's in %TDP not Watts (100 if they're the same)

Instead of using the rom extracted from gpuz what i did was extract the BIN file from the Programmer software than altered it using TDP Tweaker than using the "mod" bios i flashed it back to the card and it worked as you guys can see in the image above :D

Why didn't you set the TDP to adjustable?
You still have it as fixed.
That's why the slider is greyed out in MSI Afterburner.
