Thanks I"ll check it out, however changing the resolution to 1080p doesn't log you out at least, from what I've tested on several 4k laptops, so maybe that was a bug, setting the scaling though I'd have to see where else to set that since the option for what I thought it was didn't seem to affect everything, as 8.1 doesn't seem to adapt to well to changes.
However I"m curious which screen he checked and the card that was in use as well.

The gpu settings will dictate if the screen is stretched or boxed.

Well its more about the screen, due to the materials used the clarity and viewing angles will be excellent. Windows 7 does not scale well at all though you would likely run it at 1080p a lot of the time but even then.
-
So, running Windows 7 at 1080P on a 4K screen would work? I'm kinda tempted by the IGZO Sharp. The resolution and the Win7 compatibility is the only thing holding me back...
-
However Win 7 wise you can get a service that fixes the scaling issue and works like it does on Apple, which I used to use and haven't reinstalled since the format, there's a few out there but one holds up pretty well w/ most applications and windows. -

Luna, your sig says that you are ordering the FHD IPS screen, and it seems a good choice. Good on you.
-
Really hope this comes with IPS not just TN panel..

SOOOOOO many Japanese games to play too ( anime action RPG's, fighters, adventures, fps, vertical scrollers etc I picked up a TON while in and away from Japan over the past decade xD ) ...CRAP, might have to stick w/ the 1080p ;___; -
@kaozm: double u tea eff? P751ZM review in your sig? such a troll

Will this laptop have a PS/2 port?
Why your USB keyboard might be gimping your mouse in several different ways -
Any ETA on this badboy?
-
@mobius: very doubtful, havent seen any PS/2 ports around for a long while now....unless one counts old desktop computers
besides, both the leaked spec sheet and the pictures lack a PS/2 port...
@maxheap: current ETA is dec 15th, so im pretty positive that some vendors will prop up their preorder pages this weekmaxheap likes this. -
And i had this dream, that EIZO was making 15, 17, 18, 19 inch IPS 99-100% 120hz 5ms
Funny, i have actually been double bagging my cup latetly! (not.. no pun..!)
Edit: -
Hmm not sure if the msg was cut off or that's all they were responding, so I wrote back, but woke up to this from Blue.
Though this was interesting in their comments on FB( mention of late 2015 )
Either way I CAN FEEL IT
This week's the WEEK we get our info !!!
YEYUH can't wait!

makes sense to refresh the desktop cpu dual gpu model as well when the desktop cpu single gpu model is coming out soon
although thatll probably use the x99 chipset and be like 5-6 cm thick just like its precedessor P570WM...
but still, 8 cores in a laptop!!!!
and YES, this IS indeed the week!!! waaaaaaaah *runs off to the gym to let off some steam* -
Jaybee will hurt himself trying to do benches while dreaming about p751zm
careful bro!!
jaybee83 likes this. -
actually more like 80K's but whos counting right?
gah! cant wait to bench the crap out of this systemalready researching the best way to oc the 4790K to the max! all in all, it should be about a 50-100% performance upgrade to my previous rig
(thats 50% at stock and 100% oced/upgraded mwahaha)
*continues benching*
edit: btw guys, anyone volunteering to open up and take care of a P75xZM owners lounge? or should i do that? would like to wait at least until my order is through though... -

Go ahead! Ready to start refreshing it every 5 seconds

hes watching us....waiting for the right moment to be preordered!

Btw the dimensions of this thing kinda rocks considering the desktop CPU in there, 3.4kg 35mm thick, its seriously unreal
Is the GPU MXM as well??
-
yes it is my friend....
thats why were flying around this thing like bats -
Holy... I guess my hopes for getting a light laptop to setup for both my work (linux) and mobile gaming needs is out the window.. For good reason
Back to mobile gaming laptop + Desktop replacement model (although it is considerably lighter and thinner than my previous desktop replacement m17x r3
)
EDIT: Btw Jaybee your laptop is dead as well? My m17x r3 is I think faulty (my guess is mobo) considering it killed 3 MXM cards, I am not replacing it anymore
-
Should uncheck "store locally" for the photo and let the bats SWARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
also don't think the 17" is going to support SLI just yet, given they've made it this far w/ the desktop CPU's I'm sure the next project would getting the cooling to work w/ dual GPU's in something this thin, which is looking end of next year when hardware is smaller etc. However this isn't 100% certain, just information from vendors and what makes sense anyways. -
Btw do we have any information how they achieved to manage this? like quad fan?
-
Is this made out of aluminum or plastic?
-
-
the chassis is made of rubberized plastic, much like the P150 series. as for the cooling, we definitely know they used like a TON of copper for the cooling:
which makes sense considering the form factor is thinner than the P150 but the overall weight is about 300-400 grams higher. it sure looks like a two-fan design to me based on the heatsinks. considering the 980M runs comparably cool compared to previous gens, im hoping that the extra cooling capacity would manage to bring the 4790K to 4.5 Ghz on all cores, that would be totally sweeton desktop systems it would reach 4.7 Ghz on average, but thats with beefed up cooling of course...
-
wait wait wait, does this machine need 330W power supply?! why on earth such a crazy jump from 230W? 4790K is like 88W, 4700mq is 47W. Is it just because there is no 280W power supply on the market, or they are aiming for OC headroom?
-
its like a 30-50$ upcharge iirc.
To sum it up
It doesn't need a 330W PSU persay, its US that NEEDS the PSU BECAUSE...
*kicks max into a ditch*jaybee83, maxheap, TomJGX and 1 other person like this. -
^^ Great stuff! I will be ordering 2 of those badboys one for work one for home
3.4kg is not too much to carry! I suffered 4.6 of my beautiful m17x r3 for like 3 years
jaybee83 likes this. -
stock PSU is 230W, thats barely enough to supply enough juice to the 88W cpu, 100W gpu and then theres 32W left for the rest of the system. so basically in very stressful situations ud have like 20W or less of headroom left. that wont be any fun when trying to oc, and whats the point of a K desktop CPU if u cant oc it right? sooooo the first vendor with preorder option, namely bluemobility in poland made the wise decision to include a 330W PSU in their configurator
which means: the P751ZM sports the same power connector like the P170 / P375 / P570 series and is thus compatible with all Clevo 230W / 300W / 330W PSUs
edit: ah crap, luna ninja´d me
@max: dayum, TWO of them, itll be like the batcave at your place
@luna: would this be the right time to mention that i was actually born and raised in greece? -
^^ I mean the AC adapter
sadly I am not rich yet
@luna, wait wait! The super ultra slow motion (the scene where he kicks the guy towards the ditch) also fits if we are playing AssCreed:Unity with the original cinematic experienceWell, it won't be really cinematic on this badboy though
-
-
nah, thats actually another story altogether.... maybe for another time
-
MGM Studios it is
!!! j/k
Now I'm starting to search on every version of google since each has its own route. -
Can someone link me a US retailer for this machine. TY P7x0ZM
-
Would be heresy if US resellers don't include a 330W option! Even so though, I imagine an oc of 4.4 on all cores while ocing the GPU as well to the +135 max (I think that's what it is for 980M) would be the most that can be squeezed out without physically modding any of the hardware.
I don't know if I can wait till January though... tempted to go the bluemobility route lol. Their site is only in polish though? ._. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
-
he was talking about two PSUs meaker, although i misunderstood him as well at first
@mollysantana: no US retailers offering this machine yet, bluemobility is the only one thus far globally. preorder pages should be popping up soon though...
@metacarpus: ask lunap for details, shes emailing back and worth with bluemobility to sort out her (potential) order with them. they definitely speak english, so its best to go through either phone or email rather than the configurator in polish
if u wanna know more about this gruesome story, look no further than here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...ure-bios-gpu-hardware-specialists-wanted.html
dunno why but lately it seems theres like a ton of 7970M cards failing all around medefinitely time for batman to clean up this mess....
sorry to hear about ur rig bro, 3 faulty gpus is a b*tch!!!
btw, i was also planning to get a 230W PSU for work and a 330W monster for homemaxheap likes this.
