Yeah, alas, it seems that won't be brought to the table for the current generation, but there is always hope for the future. :)

    Hi guys,

I have a very keen interest in purchasing the Clevo W550EU. I like the thin, ultrabook like dimensions and the IPS panel that it offers. However, nobody seems to offer this model with the latest Haswell processors and latest GPU offerings.

I'm guessing any new model based on this laptop, will have the haswell i7 4702MQ (37W quad) the same way the current model has the i7 3632QM (35W quad).

Will there be a successor for the W550EU anytime soon?

I would appreciate any information from anybody in the know

    I'm itching to get a laptop :D

That would be the W650SZ model which uses the same IPS panel and is Intel HD Only.. We call it the Callisto 1513
    thanks

    Hi folks

Someone asked me recently if the back cover from the P150SM, will fit the EM, and HM models

apparently it is better, and has more vents, and more of the vents "open" as opposed to blocked off. Also did the feet positions or shape/size change ??

Hi, I tried using the live chat service on several of the reseller's websites and for some reason it wouldn't connect...

So... Does anyone know if any of the resellers charge sales tax and/or shipping/handling for California residents? Also, is there an option for local pickup at any of the resellers located in California (City of Industry)?

    Thank you!

Hey there, we can't discuss specifics on pricing, but tax will be charged on all orders shipped from Sager to a California address since they're in the same state. Since we're out of the state and buying through us, we can have the machine shipped to us first, then back to you, but doing so avoids the taxes being charged. You'll still be legally obligated to claim them on your year end taxes though.

Hello guys, I am wondering if the SM models backplate fits the EM models in my case the P150, if not out of the box what mods are required, or is it a no go? I am asking because I had a plan to mod mine and everything I thought have been implemented on the new model (passive cooling to the gpu and cpu whereas only for the cpu on EM, horizontal back feet vertical on EM, full fan cutout when in EM some are blocked by the back feet, two extra passive vent and on EM there is only one). Also wondering about heat sinks compatibility among SM, EM and 170 and 150. Cheers

    Dear resellers,

Is any one of you able to supply us with information about the AUO B173HW01 V.7 display? It is suppose to be a matte 90% NTSC gamut display, but so far no one in this forum has been able to confirm this.

Thats because no one has ever seen or been able to get our hands on one. We are direct AUO purchasers and they don't have a datasheet for it, which means as far as we know and AUO has said.. Doesn't exist other than a mis-marked ad.

    Interesting, and very confusing.

I've send Puget Systems an email asking them if they have this display in stock (after all, they are offering it), and if they have a datasheet. ScreenCountry is also offering the B173HW01 V.7, but doesn't have a datasheet. I've asked them if they are sure the display exists, and if they ever sold one.

I really don't know what to think any more, the whole affair is becoming quite ridiculous.

Hi, I purchased my laptop from Malibal two years ago. Right now, it needs a CMOS reset. Due to the inconsistent recent feedback about Malibal, I am hesitant to ask them for help. Is there any other reseller I can give my laptop to for service? I tried to do the reset myself but don't have the proper tools to unscrew the keyboard (they're really tight for some reason..).

    Thanks,
    Vedya

For a 17.3" 90% NTSC Color Gamut Glossy LCD it should be AU OB173HW01 V.4, not V.7.

There is supposed to be a matte 90% version floating around that people have mentioned a few times but no one can seem to actually order the part. That is the one they are referring to.

It is additional copper heatsinks added to the existing copper heat transfer pipes. Not all resellers offer it but I know we're not the only ones.

The copper cooling upgrade doesn't replace any of the existing cooling hardware in the laptop. We add additional copper heatsinks to the existing heat pipes to increase thermal capacity of the tubes themselves as well as increase the heat dissipation due to the increased surface area for the air to move across.

Double thanks for the info you guys. Is there anywhere where I could look at cooling temps performance ratings that you know of?

Or is there a general "cooling factor" that you guys can lay claim to, with the way you add the heat sinks? What kinds of temperature differentials are we looking at?

It really varies system to system and model to model. We in general say 1-4c temp reduction. That can actually be increased with additional case modding which a few users have detailed here on these threads. Basically anything you can do to get more air moving across them will increase the cooling performance.

I asked this in another thread, but decided it's probably best to direct at the resellers.

Is the cooling system identical between the 15-inch models P150SM/P157SM and 17-inch models P170SM/P177SM?

You will have to pay your local sales tax at the time of delivery. If you use UPS ground they will also collect for brokerage fees, if you use express or expedited they will not collect brokerage fees so in the long run they cost you less.

For USPS they do still collect brokerage fees but i hear they are lower around $10-15. You'll have to pay sales tax regardless of shipping method.

I'm evaluating the NP7352 Sager for a near future purchase and concerned about the fan noise on this model especially during non Gaming use. I plan to use it mainly for development and design and wanted RAID and memory expansion and light gaming.

    Any opinions about this?

I have a question to all resellers as well, concerning the NP4650.
I was wondering how is that laptop (Build quality, battery life) considering I can't seem to find reviews on this laptop unlike the other Sager series. Also if there are any problems with the laptop series as well.

Apparently some of the resellers do business directly with AU Optronics. Can any one of you dig up the specifications of the B173HW01 V.7 please? I assume these specs must be available for business partners at the AUO web site. I know there is a B173HW01 V.0 (glare, 72% NTSC gamut), a V.3 (don't have the specs), a V.4 (glare, 90% gamut), a V.5 (non-glare, 72% gamut) and a V.7 (suppose to be non-glare, 90% gamut). The V.7 is offered by quite a few web shops, but it seems none of these shops can give us the specs.

Hey There, The S just stands for "Special Edition". Basically just means that the base configuration is of an upgraded nature and discounted below what it would be at if you configured up the base model the same way. Gets you awesome hardware for less.

The Machines are basically brand new and why there aren't many reviews up. I haven't had any customer accounts on the machine just yet as I don't think anybody has received them just yet. Give it a few couple more weeks and we'll be seeing some reviews pop up.

I've been trying to get an answer for this question. Only answer I could get was from my local retailer( who has told me some tall tales in the past).
So to the question ; Is the 8970m compatible with the last generation p1x0em ?? My local retailer told me no, but the 8970m is almost exactly the same as the 7970m, so in that case why the he.. not ? I could use the extra video memory for cad and 3d on two extra large res. monitors.
Anyway, I would be extremely grateful for a straight- up answer on this one :)

Have not seen it working on the last gen ones. Typcially when it wont its because of a BIOS or vBIOS issue.
