does the P9377SM-A have a 30-pin/2-lane cable or a 40-pin/4-lane which one does it come with? or does it have connections for both on the MB? if it comes with the 2 lane cable is it possible to order the 4 lane cable if it is compatible to be used at a later time if they come out with newer/better displays? Thanks

I'd like to ask all resellers what SAGER/CLEVO models are affected by the vBios lockdown?
I know some people got a unpleasant surprise when they got there laptops.
So far I know for sure the P750ZM is locked down but will they be continued to be locked down?
Is the P650SG locked down as well?
The only thing holding me back from ordering is the stupid lockdown so It could be bad for the all resellers.

Also when you order can you ask for a display panel that uses the edp connection so later on if I decide to upgrade my display panel since there is only 1 display currently offered that I could upgrade it on my own if I wanted to? Thanks guys

If you order a Sager 9377, you used to get both ports (LVDS and eDP) but Clevo models can come with one or the other or both. Anything from Sager or a Sager reseller has them both though unless they changed that now that they no longer have the 120hz screen. Double check with the reseller you pick to make absolutely sure.

Yah thats why I posted in the ask resellers area, hopefully they will answer soon as I plan on buying in the next couple weeks, I just don't get why Sager has stopped having or letting their resellers offer 120hz displays for the 9377? Kinda weird, I think if your going to get a top notch top performing expensive laptop why shouldn't you beable to match those specs in every aspect of the laptop including the display I mean it is or would be an optional thing so I just don't get it unless they have something else planned that no one is talking about...I would really like to beable to have a really nice display for a really nice laptop, but eh I guess we will see what happens here soon..but thanks so much for the reply Ethrem can always count on your knowledge here, hows your machine doing? Still getting great temps/performance? Sorry for going off topic a lil but when I do receive my laptop do you think you could assist me in getting it up to par with bios/vbios (I mean from what I can tell the 980m's should beable to be reflashed to prema? or are they locked down tight now and unable to be overclocked or modded at all?) drivers etc everything that you put on yours to get it to run like it should? that would be awesome..take care!

    Hi Brent,

377SMA has both eDP and LVDS wired and ready to go.
We offer the 377-SMA with a 120Hz panel, Google Eurocom X8.

    Cheers

mammalsloveeurocom I will certainly keep that in mind when I go to buy soon

any other vendors have any idea of when more displays may be offered for the NP9377? I am only going to wait maybe 3 more weeks until I pull the trigger and buy this beast...but it really bothers me such a high end machine doesn't have more options display wise :/

Nvm, it's plastic. Found the small text on the "Other design" section of Clevo's website which says "Painting". This obviously means rubber/soft-touch/plastic. If it were metal it would say "Al-Alloy" or similar (such as on the P650SE).

Are there any resellers based in the nj/nyc area? I would really like to see the p650sg before I buy it, but there doesn't seem to be any way of seeing it in person (unless I take a flight to california).

It may be hard to find one in store, but keep in mind most offer a pretty good return period (minus shipping costs).

    hello US resellers,

I am interested in buying Sager NP-9377-S and have few questions:
    - if I get it with single 980M and want to upgrade later, do I get it through the reseller or directly from Sager?
    - if I add the 2nd 980M later, does that affect extended warranty coverage?
    - Is it hard to convert from single 980M to SLI?
    - Is there an heat issue with this laptop?

    thanks.

    Hi funkybudda,
If you get a Sager computer you can go through your reseller to help you get one, but Sager will probably sell one directly to you.

Adding the second one later will not affect the extended warranty, however it probably wont be covered under it either. You can inquire about an extended warranty for the GPU once you get it.

Pretty simple to do as long as you are comfortable doing computer hardware upgrades.

No common heat issues we hear off. If there are, typically a cleaning or repasting will fix it.

thanks for the reply, in your professional opinion, do you think it's better to get the SLI now instead of buying a 2nd GPU later? Obviously the cost is an issue that I need to think about, but with the warranty issue in your reply, I feel it's better to get SLI at purchase of the new laptop. Question is really deciding between 970M or 980M...

Lastly, is the copper cooling necessary with SLI?

You will find that notebook GPU prices really do not go down over time. The 970M and 980M are very good GPU's and can handle pretty much all current games with no issues. It really comes down to how much life you want to get out of the computer. Obviously dual video cards will last you longer before you see a performance drop in gaming, and as you mentioned all the original hardware will be covered under the extended warranty. If dual video cards are in your budget now there really is no reason not to get them off the bat.

from what I have been told the copper add on it just a gimmick and can actually cause higher temps because it can mess up how air flows...but thats just what I have been told.

I overlooked that question. Its not necessary as this model already has good cooling, and it does get mixed feedback. I have seen it make a difference, but it varies by how much per model.

@funkybudda The copper heatsink add-ons are only beneficial if you use the machine on a laptop cooler all the time. Otherwise it can cause a temp increase. I lost 2-3C under load by removing mine. That's not a big difference for 9xx cards but it is a big difference for 880Ms where 2-3C is the difference between throttling and stuttering and smooth play.

Definitely would get SLI now. 970M are the best bang for the buck and run a bit cooler than 980M does. Can't really go wrong either way though, they're beastly cards.

    Hello there folks,

It seems my GPU is dying, barely ran furmark and the screen went nuts. Can't really game on it anymore, is there any of these video chips left in inventory somewhere? If so how much? Or should I scrap and sell the parts?

    Hey guys

Is there a European reseller for the n15xsc, clevo.tw listed it (2015)
The only difference between n15xsd and 15xsc (what i´ve seen) is that the n15xsc is shipped with the gtx 950m instead of the gtx 960m which would be cheaper (i guess).

Spent a half day just checking at web-shops.
    Thanks in advance!

I ordered an Clevo 8650 from xotic via Amazon. Is there a difference in shipping times vs ordering directly from the xotic website?

I only ordered from Amazon because the exact same build that I had configured in my shopping cart was available on Amazon and I wanted to use the company's prime membership. :)

I'm looking forward to it. However, I'm a little disappointed in the shipping/delivery estimates. Ordered on the 7th, with a 6-10 (I assume business days) shipping estimate. Received a delivery estimate yesterday of April 29 - May 6. With a worse case scenario, that's nearly a month from order placement to delivery. Best case, 3 weeks. Amazon indicated In Stock so I assumed a shipping date of no later than 10 business days from the 7th. :(

Does anybody know which resellers in the US have the Clevo W230SD in:

    13.3”(33.78cm) QHD+ (3200x1800) 16:9 panel, 2.6mm ~ 2.8mm
    13.3”(33.78cm) WQHD (2560x1440) 16:9 panel, 2.6mm ~ 2.8mm

I don't plan on using this to game but want a higher resolution screen.

    Thanks

Amazon does automatically give you those estimated ship dates and estimated delivery dates. 6-10 business days is the standard build time, but Sager has been getting them out quite a bit faster. Then shipping time will depend on where you are shipping to. If you can PM me your order number I'll be happy to look into it.

    Question for XoticPC.

Hi, my name is Justin. Just curious about a few things...

What can customers do to speed up the shipment process? I requested no operating system to be installed, and asked them to skip the 24h-72h stress testing/benchmarking because I am without a PC right now, and need it ASAP. Will this speed things up, or are is my request futile?

Yes, there is a "rush order" option for $49, but most reviews here still show most systems shipping after a week even though it says, "1-4 business days." So, I didn't purchase it. Why is that, and can that still be changed?

My order was paid with a Credit Card, so that should be quicker.

    Thanks,
    J.Dre

Right now Sager is building computers fairly quick since it is a slower time of year for computers sales (vs back to school and holidays), but there is no guaranteed build times. The only time Sager will build it faster is with rush production added. With that they will put your build in a queue that just has rush builds so they get built and shipped out faster since there are less in that queue. Without rush production then you go in another queue which you do have to wait for more computers that were ordered before yours to get finished before your build starts. If you do want to add Rush to your order you can contact Pat since it sounds like he is your rep and he can add it on there for you.

It's 25-35ms... Also any reason for getting the 8650? The 8651 with 970M is a much better deal since the 970M does 50-60% better performance wise for a slight extra...

I have a question. When you purchase an extended warranty like I did for 3 years with Xotic, is that a full Sager warranty or is it limited after the first year somehow?

Its a full warranty for the 3yrs, then after that the Lifetime Labor is limited which means shipping costs is no longer covered. But you do not have to pay for Labor for the actual repair.
