Some games don't support SLI so while it is more powerful it's also something to consider. -
And looking at the gaming results is misleading because there are cases where the 980 for Notebooks is beating stock factory overclocked 980s which shows that there has been some degree of driver optimization (as much as we all like to hate on nVidia drivers around here lately, there is definitely a performance difference between launch Maxwell 2 drivers and current Maxwell 2 drivers... when they function right).
Either way, the 980s are beastly cards and I'm incredibly jealous of everyone who gets themi_pk_pjers_i likes this. -

These questions are for the guys at xoticpc, apologies if you have already answered these:
I'm buiding an NP9758-S.
1) In the customization menu, it doesn't state what network card is in this or provide an option. It only allows you to choose wireless card. Do these come with the Killer E2400 network card? Do I have to choose the Killer N1535 wireless card to get the E2400 network card?
2) Do you price match with other resellers?
3) Is your warranty voided by use of third party bios's, which I've seen fix some firmware issues that are ignored by clevo's own bios?
4) Is the 9758-S a 750DM-G or just a 750DM (I won't be surprised if this is a really dumb question, feel free to chew me out)
Thanks and sorry again if these are repeat questions. -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Hello!
1)Yes you have a network card in there, it unfortunately doesn't specify the manufacture of the LAN card so it is likely because it could be either an intel or a killer LAN card.
2)We can look at price matching, it is not a flat out "yes" but we will always take a look at it. Feel free to message me with exactly what you are looking at with someone else and what the cost is and I will see what i can do.
3)no it is not
4) the P750DM-G just means it has a G-sync screen, in this case the default screen and the 4k screen option available are both g-sync, so yes
No worries, please let me know how I can help! -
Just bought a NP9870-S with 980m sli it can be upgraded later with Pascal cards correct?

Here is a question for you guys. If you have a Sager with a GTX970M do you have to install the Intel Drivers as well as the NVIDIA drivers or is only the NVIDIA needed?
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
You would want to install the intel drivers as well.
-
Just as a curiosity; why would one want to install the Intel drivers? Is it still capable of doing compute tasks, etc.?
Not really sure about what functionality it provides if there's no Optimus enabled (as I've heard is the case).
Thanks! -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
You might not need it if you are able to disable optimus. But it could cause random issues with your machine as well. If you aren't using it now and it's running fine that would be the real test.
I'm guessing you aren't using it on battery much then? the Nvidia GPU will take a lot more battery life than the intel integrated GPU. -
My laptop is still in production from XoticPC so I'm not using it at all just trying to get my ducks in a row on drivers.
-
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
O awesome! We usually just recommend ensuring that all drivers are active on the PC as there are little things that can affect the overall performance of the PC.
Feel free to PM me your order number and I can keep an eye on it for you! -
My bad.
In that case, I'd likely not need the Intel video drivers? Or is the iGPU enabled and available for other tasks like computing? -
What is a typical turn around time from order placed to shipped for a Sager laptop from XoticPC? I am waiting on an order for two Sager NP9870-S laptops placed 9 days ago and the order hasn't even gotten as far as charging the credit card (ID photos have been requested twice, sent both times).

Usually, we try to have payments processed within 1 or 2 business days. Once processed, it is usually 7 to 12 business estimated on the build time, or 1 to 4 if you have the rush production.
Please, email me with your order number and I'll check in to this, and see what I can do to get this moving forward. -
Pat, I've sent you an email with the order, since xvi, is my friend and the order is in my name (we ordered together). -

Not sure why that email was sent out again. But it looks like she has all she needs now, and should be getting through processing soon. But let me know if I can help with anything else at any point.

Hi, any of you guys know a reseller which can ship laptops to new zealand? I'm interested in the sager models, I'm not sure if there's any way to ship it to NZ. Thanks
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Yeah, I know we are able to ship to NZ, and about anywhere in the world as long as either Fedex or USPS will deliver in your neighborhood. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Hello,
I've got a general question to resellers. What exactly Clevo barebones include? From everywhere I hear it's the chassis, but really it's just that? Doesn't the chassis also include motherboard, cooling system or a reseller designs it afterward? Is it possible that a certain Clevo model offered by different resellers can have different cooling system or it's the same one coming from Clevo? Which parts/components are provided by Clevo and which ones by resellers? Thank you. -
@Atronach The chassis contains everything apart from the CPU (unless the laptop model is a BGA/intrgrated CPU), SSD/HDDs, RAM, WiFi, 3G/4G module/modem, keyboard, optical drive.
LCD panel - often different choices but the options are available to everyone
GPU - sometimes this will be purchased with the system, occasionally separately to the system but again all options are available to everyone. As with CPUs, an integraged GPU comes on the mainboard.
Keyboard - one option available for each model, in multiple languages
That's pretty much it! The configuration pages of Clevo system integrators will give you the best indication of what is purchased from Clevo and what changes or additions each company can then make.Atronach likes this. -
@XMG:
Ok, am I understanding correctly that the cooling system comes from Clevo and resellers don't provide their own cooling solution? -
That's correct, the heatsinks and fans are supplied by Clevo. Sometimes we (XMG) have our own designed fan profile response curves but we all have the same cooling system hardware.

Probably you will know does clevo fixed BSOD with clevo control center software and synaptic touchpad?
-
@Legion343 - as far as I am aware none of our customers have reported this problem with the newer Skylake models so it isn't something I am aware of. Which chassis is it in particular?
-
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Generally I think skylake has been pretty solid for the most part on those models. Drivers for 7 are available as well, so you should be good there as well.

I need a new screen hinge and frame for my p170em. What's the part of this item and where can I order it?
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Usually if you contact the seller where you got your system, and let them know the model and serial number, they should be able to see if they can get you one. Including a picture of the items you need might be a good idea as well.

Hi,
Just wondering about compatible CPUs for my P150em - it's getting on for three years old now and I'd like to upgrade it rather than chuck it all away and buy a new one. Currently I've got the Intel Core i7-3630QM 2.40GHz. What would be a good upgrade, and where could I source it? Do I require a different type of CPU to a desktop machine? -

Hi Guys,
I am about to order my new Clevo ( P67x model ) laptop in the next few days however the colors of the display is really important to me. I found this screen which is already used in some Clevo models:
http://www.panelook.com/B173ZAN01.0_AUO_17.3_LCM_parameter_25358.html
I would like to know if it is possible to order a P67x model with the above display.
I am based in the EU so an EU reseller is preferred. It is not required though if a reseller outside the EU makes it possible to make warranty repairs in the german Clevo service center, and provides a good price + shipping combo. -
The P67x isn't available with a 4K display (unless someone offers it as an after market add-in) so you would need to look at one of the higher spec models like the P770/1, P775DM (XMG U716) or P870DM (XMG U726).
The Clevo service centers actually only carry out repairs for companies in extreme circumstances, for example if a company that sells Clevo chassis doesn't have their own production facility or RMA department then they can have the Service Center carry out warranty work but the service isn't free. Also, the Service Centers in the UK and Germany are for EU Clevo customer support - they don't and can't complete warranty work for companies outside of Europe unless that company pays them - so you may find it as an option but likely it will cost a lot more for the warranty. Similarly, some companies now charge additional fees for global shipping under warranty but again this adds quite a lot onto the cost of the laptop in the first place. -
@XMG Thanks for the quick answer. Tons of useful info about the warranty there. Really useful to know this.
About the screen: If I order a custom P67x model from You and purchase the above mentioned AUO panel elsewhere and send it to You, then would You put it inside my laptop config before You send it to me? -
@Allanon1983 Sorry, that's not someting that we could do for you at this point in time.
If you wanted to replace the panel then you can do so yourself, but the new panel wouldn't be covered by the laptop warranty of course. -
@XMG Thanks again for the answer. Meanwhile I opened 2 new threads about the display replacement I mentioned. It seems that the original screen ( http://www.panelook.com/LP173WF4-SPD1_LG%20Display_17.3_LCM_overview_24463.html ) that comes with the Clevo P67x models has a 30 pin edp interface, but the AUO UHD ( http://www.panelook.com/B173ZAN01.0_AUO_17.3_LCM_overview_25358.html ) display comes with a 40 pin interface. As per @t456 's answer here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/is-it-possible-to-put-this-auo-uhd-panel-inside-a-clevo-p67x-model.786469/
the laptop itself is compatible but the edp cable might not be. If its not, then is it possible to purchase a suitable cable from You? Or since Your surely saw more P67x models from inside then I did, can You tell me a bit more about the screen connector cable? Like what kind of cable do I need to look for to make this work?
Ask the Resellers! Questions to Reseller Thread.
