Again, I'm impressed you answered, so props to you guys. I think it would be a good idea to start offering services to overcharge for like delidding cpus, applying conductive thermal compound, maybe even like stock overclocking. Those are relatively easy things for your company cost wise, but they are something a lot of people don't wanna do that I think makes it worth getting.

Like I said before, you guys have a lot of awesome options, so I am rooting for you guys, the price just needs to be more in line with competition. I'm sure you'd agree if you were shopping for a laptop you wouldn't pay twice as much somewhere else for the same thing +- small variations in ram and storage.

The Eurocom Tornado F5 is a home run though, really a unique product you guys offer, and if what you said about a 150W 1080 and 120Hz screen was true that's gonna be an epic machine. Sole 15" 1080 as far as I'm aware if that came out, that's worth a premium.

I've actually had them use a specific thermal paste I wanted and they didn't charge extra for it. They do have some extra nicities that they charge extra for like zero dead pixel (aka perfect display) 30 day warranty, no logo on the front and back LCD panel covers, rush service, etc. All of the aforementioned services worth it IMO. :)

Yeah... The problem is everyone else has those too, or at least some of them. HID has all of them at least.

Those are all positves though. My personal favorite are the screen options they have for the Clevos that aren't anywhere else like the matte or glossy finished 4k Sharps on the Clevo P650s.

That's pretty sweet about the thermal paste, what kind did you get? Anything wacky or the usual IC Diamond?

What is the difference between p870dm2-g and p870dm3-g apart from p870dm3-g being bigger and heavier?

Does p870dm3-g have larger heatsinks/pipes or a different cooling setup ie with more heats pipes in different locations?

    What other differences are there?

That is the biggest difference, as the dm3 is designed to have better cooling in order to handle SLI 1080 graphics, where the dm2 can do up to SLI 1070.

Technically both P870DM2 and P870DM3 are identical machines. Just different packaging: DM2 comes with 2x 230W AC adapters and single GPU heatsinks (it supports 1x 1080 or 2x 1070); DM3 comes with 2x 330W AC adapter and supports 2x 1080 or 2x 1070 as well as dual Grid GPU heatsink.
You can "turn" DM2 to DM3 by changing AC adapters to 2x 330W or 1x 780W and adding DM3 Grid GPU heatsink. You can order both via [email protected]

Then why is it that dm3 appears thicker and larger them dm2? Is that just a illusion? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160819/4509d5822bd69cf07efb17da027c49ce.jpg

Is it possible for 670XX to get QHD (2560*1440) screens in the future? If not, does Clevo have any plans to bring one in the form factor of 670XX series?

It doesn't look like P67xx can support QHD or UHD panels - these panels are heavier so Factory would need to redesign both LCD hinges and backcover to support them.

Thank you Eurocom. Is there a Clevo 15.6" version that can have QHD in that case? I need a laptop urgently. For ex, would the Clevo 650XX versions support QHD?

There are no QHD 15.6" available. Only FHD and UHD. 17.3" panels are available in FHD, QHD and UHD. For now LCD vendors are not planning any QHD 15.6" as far as we know.

Have they discontinued 4k 15.6" panels? There were a few options when I got mine a year ago. I have a Sharp Igzo 15.6" 4k panel in my P650SG.

EDIT: Disregard, I read that as no option for UHD panels, not QHD.

4K panels are UHD, QHD are 3K and FHD are 2K.
15.6" panels are available in UHD and FHD both 60Hz; 120 Hz FHD are coming in few weeks.
    17.3" are available in UHD 60Hz, QHD 120Hz; FHD 60Hz and 120Hz.

Actually the only limiting factor in panel choices as far as physics are concerned is the depth of a panel i.e. can it physically fit between the a/cover and b/cover (lid and screen surround) , the weight doesn't come into it.

Well you say the weight isn't the issue but the ****ty hinges Clevo uses would make me believe that weight plays some part... The hinges are truly atrocious on quite a few Clevo laptops..

Yes, both thickness and weight have major impact on LCD support. Hinges must support LCD weight so for heavier LCD hinges are "stronger" to support extra weight. All of models must pass mechanical stress test that simulates opening/closing of laptop few hundred of thousands times. If thickness is different than we need to redesign new back cover. Also when LCD connector has different location we need to design new LCD cable. I hope this helps.

Thank you for this list. I'll hopefully be ordering from @Donald@HIDevolution next week (black friday). I live in Ontario so hopefully everything will go smoothly and the price won't be killer.

I'm not sure how to start a private conversation with @Donald@HIDevolution but hopefully he sees this and can chime in. Are they able to do anything to help out Canadian customers (in terms of pricing)?

I'd imagine most resellers are probably doing something that weekend. I know we are running specials all month, and there may some more to come up as well (just depending on what manufacturers offer over that week or weekend).

Any chance those will be available for purchase with any of the Clevo/Sager models you guys have for Black Friday or anything like that? I know I probably won't notice a major perceivable difference between the 960 and 950... but I still want one :D

Sorry I missed this and didn't respond earlier. I haven't heard of a date when Sager might get the 960 drives in yet. We got it in at our facility on those 512gb ones (for the computers we upgrade ourselves), but not when sure when Sager might start offering them on their models.

Wouldn't those be available for installation in a Sager though? Or do the OS's come pre-installed and all that straight from Sager?

Sager builds their own computers at their facility, where brands like MSI, Asus, etc... we get those from the manufacturer and then do the upgrades. Sager does their own upgrades in house (excluding some of the services and exterior customizations that we do ourselves). So Sager uses different inventory and has some different options for upgrades, as it could very well just ship from Sager directly to the customer. For their models, we are basically just offering the upgrades that they offer on their site.

Oy, @Tanner@XoticPC thought I'd ask you a tough question.

How can you claim this: IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU (Cools better than all Compounds)

    When conductive thermal compounds exist?

IC Diamond is pretty clearly worse than like every conductive thermal compound on cpus (less so on gpus though).

    Hi @Eurocom Support

A new screen has been popping up on all of the resellers sites, the 15" 1080p 120hz 5ms TN. Do you know if you guys will be getting this soon for your MX5 R2 or your Tornado F5?

    @GenTechPC

Since when have you guys offered liquid ultra? If it's been a while I knew someone besides HID offered it but I couldn't remember who.

Pretty hyped that a Sager reseller is know offering it and not just Clevo guys like HID.
Unless I'm mistaken it's probably the same panel for the Tornado and P650. Likely around the same time, but I am interested to know this as well.

You mean "Still no leaks, although CES 2017 is only 1 month away" ;-)

The NDA for this GPU doesn't clear until next year, because of this I can't give you exact details or I'd get into trouble but it's widely recognised by IT press etc to be comming early 2017 which ties in with CES and Kaby Lake.

The 1050 Ti would slot into the mobile lineup below the 1060, in essence replacing the 965M. You'll just have to wait and see which models this GPU will be available in, but it's really not long to wait!!
