Ooooo theres a Sky X9E3 now? Only saw the E2 model on site you've been hiding this! :D

Found you only launched this today so thats "convenient" timing eh? :p Made a build up price is showing as €6500 before tax (you guys dont have Ireland so no tax button it is! :D) (to be honest the m.2 costs add a significant chunk to the costs as well)

Money wouldnt be an issue I've been holding back on a fair bit of cash for a while now since my old M18xR2 is nearing 5 years. Still a damn good laptop but window's 10 doesnt exactly play nice with it, I've had to rely on sleep mode alot these days because of the issue with the 980m's not always working correctly (motherboard issue causing throttling + windows 10 sometimes fails to load the login screen on initial boot sometimes). Bought some 980m's off eurocom bout 2 years back they've served me well even though the laptops been a little temperamental but its still working.

I'd definately be interested in ordering one of these machines in the next few weeks though if your able to get a discount or help cut down the cost definately interested in aquiring one of these.

Here is Eurocom's site for the Sky X9E3 : http://www.eurocom.com/ec/images(400)SkyX9E3
AFAIK it is not live yet, nor accessible through thier front end as the other laptops are.
    Their reasons are thier own.

If you are interested in one of these, I can help you, I am one of thier re-sellers, who just landed on his feet and started selling recently,With my own brand and am always looking for new potential customers.

I called Xotic after reading on note book review and toms hardware that they had been around for a while and had a good reputation. Once I called I never felt up sold (important). I asked questions of desktop and laptop systems and had some questions from the start though this part was enjoyable that ended here.

I felt over all the staff prior to taking my money was fast and knowledgeable with the exception of Emily who lacked knowledge and said on two separate occasions she would get back to me with information i requested and even didn't submit my credit card information to there billing dept when i requested my WiFi card be upgraded...I had to call back each time for the information i requested and a separate time to see why my card was not being charged only to find it was on her desk still.

(When you first place an order your told they wont take card info over the phone and only on the website...your protection and they need to verify everything so as to be secure, however if any change and or modification is done to an order then all that goes out the window and the opposite will apply)

I was already paid up and about a week into it and they haven't started to build anything and at that point I decided to upgrade my build even though it would cost me an extra few hundred bucks, again i provide my card info over the phone and again it takes a solid day for them even to charge the card just to get the process rolling.

Two or three days go by and im shot an e-mail saying my build is going to be delayed more than two weeks before they can even start working on my system. I am instructed in the e-mail to call for my options...here are the options that were provided in a matter fact way.

    1. Wait it out, 2. Cancel for a full refund, 3. Change my build...I slept on it and call the next morning and canceled for a full refund because they did nothing to keep me as a customer in the situation. When i canceled i was told it was going to take up to 48 hours even to have my order canceled anyone wondering why is because its clear to me communication cross dept is terrible and verge on being negligent!

I HAD IT! i wrote a bad review and to Xotic PC credit they called within two hours to reach out to me and to try to make things right, however this is were the true terror starts though it was not clear to me at that point.

I was told magically they had my build in the back and if i wanted they could resend my cancellation and work on my laptop and have it out the door the very next day....I was excited...who wouldn't be right?

To sweeten the pot they told me id be getting a 17inch gaming backpack and some other junk i could care less about but hey it was the gesture that counted to me.

THE NEXT DAY!!! I say that in all caps because I was sent an e-mail saying that the Prema Bios wont come pre installed even though its selling point for there version of Clevo laptops, That really hurt because if anyone knows anything about laptops its that manufacture bios is very neutered...I was told that they are expecting it soon and I asked for a professional screen calibration as compensation and they agreed, I was happy.

(My contention here is only that there site says pre installed not when available)

I also asked for them to make sure my upgraded ram was running at 3Ghz because I paid several extra hundred bucks for this...I was told then in e-mail they would test it but could not assure me of that speed and the new bios when out should allow that...still i wanted to know what i was getting and asked for testing to be done.

(I think its fair to not want to be sold a bill of goods and I would have liked the option to change my ram because of this)

Mind you at 5:11pm I was shot an e-mail saying there was a problem with the ram and then a separate e-mail at 5:23pm saying my package was shipped...Anyone who has built a PC knows all they did was took a bad dimm out and slapped a new one in a called it a day and didn't do any testing!

Mind you they close at 5:30pm allowing me 7min to respond to the e-mail or call.

I was never told what speed that ram was running or even if they did additional testing on the new dimm, this is just shady behavior sending it out the door like that really put a bitter taste in my mouth!

I called Friday and asked what was the issue with the ram and what was the speed...it was then I was told it was a bad dimm and the ram was 2400Mhz, later that day I said would refuse the package but after thinking on it a bit I decided to sign for it because I was ready for this headache to be over and they said the new bios would be out soon so my ram could go at the marketed speed that i bought it for...

I open the box and there was no backpack like they promised or any other extras...So yeah they lied!

I started to use the laptop and within 25min im getting BSOD all the time constant restart...nothing is fixing this issue, ive tried it all!

(The did calibrate the screen but cant enjoy it because the system is screwed...thanks Xotic!)

Also its nice to know there sales team is open M-S but tech support is closed Sat-Sun...Now i bet im stuck paying a ton for shipping back and I bet they take there time refunding me and nickle and dime me to death.

This is my Xotic PC experience...please take my warning seriously!

I got your email about your order, and I'm sorry to see the issues you have been going through. It sounds like you've been working with Landon on this, and getting it sent back to us. Let me know if you don't see the shipping label that I set up for Landon to send you.

As for some of those issues, it sounds like some of that was communication between departments. With custom orders, and changing different parts on it, it goes through usually about every department we have here, from someone helping to change the order, then accounting, inventory, and production teams all have their hands in it. It's not so much that there is no communication, but it just takes time to process things. This is also something that we are working on to improve, with updates to internal systems soon. Something like the backpack not being in with the computer would be an example of that, as the laptop would have sent before the other items were done processing to be added on the order.

If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I know Landon wants to work with you to work something out, but if there is anything else I can help with additionally, please let me know. Thanks!

I also appreciate that Xotic can take constructive criticism were so many cant...complement to you guys for that.

What's the absolute best compatible aftermarket GPU I can buy for an NP9150 (3rd gen i7, DDR3, 7970M)? Would it even be worth it, or would ditching it for Kaby Lake be better worth the money?

Well there is the current P870KM-1 which is generating a lot of buzz, not all companies are advertising it right away, i think this is the closest we get to "whats coming out" usually.
Does that help ? Is there soemthing specific you are looking for, can I be of service to you while in some other fashion ?

I personally specialise in just this, the P150EM usually works great with a Maxwell 980M but I recommend 970M because of budget constraints and spending too much on a outdated laptop (even though it was a solid beast and still working)

Would you like me to work alongside with you and help you further, in upgrading this laptop, maybe you have more questions ? Feel free to ask away, or ask me for private convo so we do not derail this thread. Cheers !

@Larry@LPC-Digital Why did you guys switch to WD ssds? I loved that you had X400s, but now you basically have X400 crap editions with the worse WD firmware and higher costs...

Please get rid of it and bring back the Sandisks... It was a great reason to recommend you guys...

If I could interject, the X400's are out of stock and out of manufacturing now, the next line should be out or coming out soon. That is my experience with them, if that comment helps. (they're getting hard to come by anywhere, as there is little to no resupply that I know of)

This I do not know, but when i went to restock on X400's I was told out of stock everywhere, and I couldn't find resupply either. The 2.5" might be available, but the m.2/NGFF ones are out of stock and not being made anymore AFAIK.

@Midas Touch ^^ correct, the P870KM-1 isn't new, been around since January. Some people might still be selling their P870DM stock with the BIOS update to support Kaby Lake CPUs, but the KM-1 is an update rather than"new" as such.

We have, over the last 1-3 months, had refreshed versions of most of the key models including P870KM-1, P650/P670, N850/N870 and soft updates to support Kaby Lake in other models. There is no big new GPU launch comming soon, so there are no near-future hardware launches to drive new chassis.

Problem is that those in the know like me can't tell anyone what is/might be comming until their NDAs are cleared. Until Nvidia, Clevo, Intel etc launch then I can't give details.

The i7-7700T is a 35W TDP CPU, it is supported in our U507, U707, U717 and U727 and also in the SCHENKER DTR 15 and 17 - these are P75 and P77 KB models, P775DM3 and P870KM. I'll try and dig out some battery life comparisons and can then compare these with 7700K and 1070.

Yes that's correct, based on the same chassis as the XMG P507 - P651HS/HP6 (-G) - they are branded with the SCHENKER "S" rather than XMG and some small differences in the configuration options :)

Another question I can currently see there is a sale/offer on mysn.de, where you can upgrade the 1060 on the U507 model to a 1070 free of charge. Far as I can tell this is only eligible through the german site but not on the "international/european"-site.

Any plans to extend the offer to the european site, or is it possible for me to just buy it through the german site?

They just changed my model to a Schenker Dtr 15, since they were out of ips panels for the u507. It's the same barebone as the u507 and you can purchase it on Mysn.de

Most, maybe all, resellers won't have any new or used/refurbed units of this model. You might have to look to private sellers.

Hello. Are there any resellers who can do support work on a laptop that came from another reseller? I have a p750ZM with a number of minor issues (stripped screw, monitor cable replacement, keyboard connector reseat/replacement) to fix but I don't have any real confidence the original reseller will be able to address those issues in a timely matter.

    Greetings!

As a longitime Alienware customer that is disgruntled about them going BGA with their new systems I'm finally contemplating to replace my trusty Alienware M18x-R2 of which one video card just died with a Clevo-based model. I've been looking around and have some questions for the resellers:

    Questions for @XMG (mysn/Schenker):

I've been looking around and believe an XMG from mysn.de system may be a good choice (while I'd prefer a reseller located in Austria, there don't seem to be any comparable Resellers with as many options as Schenker offers around here, so Germany seems to be the best choice).

    1. If I ordered the Schenker XMG U717 or U727 (2017 versions) without any hard drives (I still have a bunch of drives in my current system I wish to reuse), does it come with mounting brackets and screws for both HDD bays as well as all the M2 bays with the system still so I can simply move them to the new system?

    2. Which Clevo chassis are the U717 and U727 respectively based on?

    3. Does the U727 have much better cooling than the U717 when paired with a single GTX 1080 8GB video card?

    4. Does the U727 still come with the fan for the second video card and does that fan work even if there is only one video card installed in the system to exhaust additional heat from the chassis?

    5. Do the U717/U727 (2017 version with Intel Core i7 7700K CPU) support Quad Channel memory or is it Dual Channel only? I'd like to go with two sticks of RAM to be able to upgrade more easily when the need arises later, but if Quad Channel is supported, I'd go with four instead.

    6. If I buy the U717/U727 with only two sticks of RAM, would they always come pre-installed in the less-accessible RAM slots of the system so I can easily upgrade the system with more RAM from below later or is it random?

    7. Is mysn/XMG a Prema partner and thus can provide buyers with Prema Mod/Bios tokens?

    General Questions for any Resellers:
    8.
Is there a 15" Clevo chassis/configuration that supports/has an Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB MXM 3.0b card? I kind of like the idea of going slightly smaller/more portable with my laptop this time around but do not wish to sacrifice power.

    9. Does any Clevo reseller that ships from inside the European Union that ships to Austria sell separate Clevo GTX 980M 8GB MXM 3.0b video card upgrades with X-Bracket and matching screws? I'd like to upgrade my current system which currently has a faulty 7970M with one when I get a system one to give to my little brother and would like to avoid lengthy import tax/toll proceedings, if possible.

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to answer my questions! I'm very much looking forward to your answers.

Only one question: which of you guys offer repair services on Clevo notebooks purchased overseas, and is it possible to "buy" Prema Mod from the resellers like Obsidian/HIDE if we've already bought our devices elsewhere (namely Aftershock)?

Hi! Sorry for the delayed response, I was on holiday over the weekend so have just seen your post.

You will receive all HDD/SSD/M.2 mounting brackets no matter how many drives you order with the laptop itself.

Which Clevo chassis are the U717 and U727 respectively based on?

The U717 is based on the P775DM3, the "U727 2017" is based on the P870KM-GS chassis - this is with the Z270 chipset whereas the older U727 uses the Z170 chipset.

Technically the P870KM1-G is the SLI version and the P870KM-GS is the single GPU version. You would actually receive the -GS chassis whether you order from us with single or dual GPUs, but it makes no difference as we purchase the chassis and GPU/HS separately and build each order up according to the confirguration.

3.Does the U727 have much better cooling than the U717 when paired with a single GTX 1080 8GB video card?

Yes, with a single GPU in the U727 you don't have a shared heatsink with the CPU like you do in the U717, so the cooling in U727 with single GPU is superior.

    4. Does the U727 still come with the fan for the second video card and does that fan work even if there is only one video card installed in the system to exhaust additional heat from the chassis?

If you order with 1x 1080 you will receive the heatsink which covers that GPU, therefore the fan for the second GPU slot isn't included. The "SLI" heatsink costs more and it's not really necessary to have the other fan running by itself in terms of thermal performance.

    6. If I buy the U717/U727 with only two sticks of RAM, would they always come pre-installed in the less-accessible RAM slots of the system so I can easily upgrade the system with more RAM from below later or is it random?[/QUOTE]

They are both dual channel systems and if you order 2x SODIMMs they will be installed under the keyboard so it's relatively easy to add more by removing the lower panel of the chassis :)

    7. Is mysn/XMG a Prema partner and thus can provide buyers with Prema Mod/Bios tokens?

We know Prema well but are not one of his partners.

    8. Is there a 15" Clevo chassis/configuration that supports/has an Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB MXM 3.0b card? I kind of like the idea of going slightly smaller/more portable with my laptop this time around but do not wish to sacrifice power.

Unfortunately no, there's simply not ample cooling space in a chassis of that size for a 1080 to operate.

9.Does any Clevo reseller that ships from inside the European Union that ships to Austria sell separate Clevo GTX 980M 8GB MXM 3.0b video card upgrades with X-Bracket and matching screws? I'd like to upgrade my current system which currently has a faulty 7970M with one when I get a system one to give to my little brother and would like to avoid lengthy import tax/toll proceedings, if possible.

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to answer my questions! I'm very much looking forward to your answers.

I would recommend asking our sales team at info @ mysn.de about this as they will have access to stock information and be able to advise what they can do for you. If they do have stock and can help, they would likely ask for your laptop to be sent to us as we don't sell GPUsas individual items to customers from other companies.

Without breaking NDA we can however say that at the moment there is no news, by that I don't only mean no news regarding Clevo but no news regarding the GPUs in general really. @sicily428 You mentioned that all three of the link photos are the same - to be honest even if one of them is real they aren't available to purchase, maybe they are leaked photos of an early prototype. Whatever they are, I definitely wouldn't draw any conclusions about the cards, size, TDP, availability or price from those pages.

As @Prostar Computer said and also as I mentioned on the other post that @sicily428 asked about this, even when we do have information it will be covered under Nvidia NDA so it's not suddenly going to appear overnight.

I had to return my p670hs because it was hitting 97 cpu and 90 gpu temps after only 10 min of playing battlefield 1 and overwatch. I really want this laptop but others have also complained about temps but nowhere near mine. What kind of temps are you getting with the p670hs in those kinds of games? Seems like everyone is undervolting and turning off turbo just to not overheat - unfortunately that didn't even work for me (even after returning it to the reseller who applied new thermal paste and updated the bios).

@dancsank - And you're using the laptop on a solid, flat surface? Are you using anything to elevate it, or even using a cooling pad (should not be necessary, but will help)?

We don't see those temps even during stress tests, which should push the system about as hard. You might need to double check the paste and heatsinks, or ask your reseller to.

I use a harapad with nothing blocking the venting in anyway. I also test temps on a wooden table. They were the same. Those games in particular are cpu heavy so I'd be interested in hearing if you've had any problems with those games.

Okay, it's good that you do that. Unfortunately I do not have said games to test, but I'll ask around to see whether this is a trend or more isolated. In the meantime, consider taking a look at the thermal paste application; if your reseller did it, you might want to photo document it if it's not good, then touch base with them.

What are your idle temps like?

Either of those are too high for idle, 70 being ridiculously high (unless you have a ton of background processes/applications running). I'd check that paste and heatsink, and touch base with your seller ASAP if need be.

Do any of you know when a new 17.3" case/model similar in performance to the p670hs will come out next? How old is the p67 series? How frequently in years is it upgraded? I ask because I'm considering waiting until a new model comes out which could possibly cool the components better as well as be smaller sized
