i think by looks too, but that depends on the person. The clevo is slimmer and sleeker and sharper. Kinda like a silient warrior. the Aw is to flashy and bulky for my liking.

alienware stopped getting clevo after the m7700 debaucle.

it was a terrible laptop of clevo. and people sometimes had the mobo replaced 3 -4 times.

then they go to UNWILL now I believe. and have custom notebooks done by then.

Alienware sucks. if you buy a used alienware you cant transfer warranty. and get this !!! they won't fix it for you even if you pay upfront!!!

so it's essentially garbage!. I have done lots of research on this and a friend that got a m9700 off of ebay. then had some issues with cracking hinges and processor problems. he called alienware and they said since it was re-sold you can't get warranty on it. and since your not the original owner we can't help you at all. not even if you pay upfront.

    that's a HUGE ISSUE!

    http://reviews.ebay.ca/Buying-an-Al...0000690919?ssPageName=BUYGD:CAT:-1:LISTINGS:2

The first buyer is, forever, the registered owner. And because they do not transfer, the first buyer is the only person who can ever make a claim on the warranty or get help from tech support.

well, they got from unwill at one point. but they still suck because of their warranty issue. it's horrible.

Their current motherboard is made by Quanta. The chassis...I don't care.
I'd like to hear something about the weight of these new models.

At a point they did use Clevos, then Arima , Quanta and Uniwill , but the m15x is Arima for sure.

well the new alienware m15x has FOXCONN heatsinks all over it..

regardless... im happy a new non Dellianware is coming out..

but the battery life on the sager 15inch may suck hardcore however with a single 6sell or some thing and no smartbay... with not intergrated/stealth mode etc...

i may end up going for a black m15x in the end..

will last me 6years easy with integrated and smartbay.. sager 15.4 seems to not have this?

If some one could please show me how DDR3 inproves gaming performance i would like to know beside running at 1066... first fue new cpus for the moltivnova platform are all Duelcore any way and basical same speed as curent ones... so really it may not be that big of a deal as people are making it... in 2009 when a quadcore mobile comes out then u could start talking..

be nice to see what the new 15.4 sager looks like closed... i fear it will be ugly :(

Personally I'm a fan of the looks of the 5793, with silver trim anyway. I'm really hoping that this new 15.4 maintains the sleek classy look it's older brothers have. I'm currently deployed and have been drooling over the idea of getting back home and ordering a 5793, however, since my return stateside isn't scheduled til mid May, I'm contemplating if it would be wise to wait a month or two for the 860 provided it's priced fairly competitively.

    Hey Nawtheph!
If it were just a month away, I'd wait. :) But considering the release of the montevina, then the Clevos, then the Sagers, it could take longer than we would hope.. :(

"The M570TU's most interesting feature is the new motherboard with support for the upcoming Nvidia GeForce 9800M-GTX."

I think with the current information we have at hand the above sentence is misleading readers as it is not officially confirmed. Hopefully the article will be corrected.

I also asked about the smartbay, they said there is no competition, it´s already good enough.....

And the eSATA of M570TU: it will share with one USB port, either 4 USB, or 3 USB+1 eSATA, they told me, i didn´t seen it myself.

so if the current notebooks already support the 9800 then why bother get the new one? I mean obviously theres the montevina and Wlan but are those things that big of upgrades that people need them? I guess for those on the bleeding edge. I guess we also have to wait for the confirmation on 9800 support.

eSATA on a new Clevo is exactly what I was hoping to see at CeBIT. The HDMI is a nice bonus too.

Need to know when it's coming to Xotic. Keep up posted, Justin! ;)

You won`t see it any time soon. Sager first has to release them , and etc etc.
As I said, based on last year`s events, not sooner than June.

I doubt it. Who's everyone? To ship them before June Intel would have to release their Montevina line earlier.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to see these before the summer. But knowing that a new model offering Montevina, eSATA and HDMI is due in a few months, I can't justify the $2500 on a system replacement right now.

Still, it's something to look forward to. ;)

More likely, Joe'd come home with one of the secret Penryn "rejects" that, mysteriously, does fine in benchmarks but somehow never quite lives up to snuff in actual games. Or, since I'm a jaded cynic by now, a Penryn with a modded trusted computing module that would actively work against Joe by, e.g., dumping his financial info onto dubious Russian hack-sites.
