For all the flak M$ has been getting over Vista, they don't even seem to work that well at protecting M$, either.

In the meantime,what do you guys think these new laptops will be called by sager?

1) M570TU = Sager 6090
2) B860TU = Sager 3060

15inch looks horrible and big to me.. it needs battery life of 4-5 hours at least.. to comp eat with alienware m15x which i don't see possible unless new chip set/integrated hybrid is really a massive jump unlike the 5% battery life jumps of the past years.. looks like its cooling on the 8800mGTX will be good but... that think is FAT!


Its interesting reading about lintels hybrid stuff... its like Alien ware tacked on the new platform features onto its SR based laptops... so it could miss this chip set possibly?

 

You can only get 5 hours on m15x with smartbay bettery and normal battery+integrated gfx anyway, although it would be nice to have atleast 2.5 hrs, which is normal for 15 inchers.

No, i think it will be 2200-2500 for a decent config with the 8800m

i think so. But most probably in the low 2000 for a decent config. But this is all speculation...

Closed it looks alright from the top with a clear un badged brushed metal but side on its horrid low grade thick plastic and bulky looking like all other clevo bar the M570RU which orange trip takes your eye of the raw plastics cheap-o texture.

reminds me of the c90 (the massive clevo?)or what ever its called in color and overall effect ... does not touch the looks of the 17inch orange clevo..

its hinge has a silver nob on each end and is made to look like ones found in Dell and HP laptops but its very superficial/simple and the lit hinge still sticks out in and looks tacked on. ..

also its raised on the back and has a bottom tuck in that makes it look curved almost like a mutated PS3 case curve on the base..

it has a comical pic of a clevo tech gluing the front of a M570RU audio port back shown on the image. it made me lol.

 

My guess is 1800 for something like 8800M GTX, T8100,1GB RAM, 6cell, WXGA+, 160GB 5.4K, standard warranty.

Then again, that's only a guess. I believe if it is more expensive than that it will hurt Sager 'coz I think a similar price will be valid for the basic config for the m15x (1499) when it is released. Jusy my 2 cents.

 

Remember that looks are highly subjective. I would love to have this system with the design for the reason that I wouldn't want a flashy looking rig that screams 'steal me' from a mile away. Being able to use the system in public places without drawing too much attention is a GREAT thing for me. As far as I'm concerned the design ROCKS. YMMV.

2.5 is horrible for 15inch running in power saving and medium brightness..

if this thing cant reach 3.5+ its a pointless system for its likely price/weight.

the new chip set has integrated switching (i think?) and i hope nicer power saving.. rather than some 5% from 2gig sticks of Robson or some thing so fingers crossed.

 

I know its kinda the wrong sub-forum to ask but id like to ask this off our "sager fans"....

PS: Nice machines but nothing really that new apart from the 15". Hopefully the current d901c will gut replaceable to Montevina too.

 

D901C will not go to Montevina, it uses desktop platform, maybe next generation P45?
