    I can only imagine the type of messages he gets, because while you are polite in writing something like that, others are not, and we can understand what you are saying, BUT it´s not always like that.
    I can speak for myself, and i can tell you that we get really, REALLY, rude messages, everyday, from users asking for either clevo stock bios updates, or even to share our own bios (the obsidian version we send with our laptops). This was already bad enough, now i also get weird messages from re-sellers, requesting that our app keeps working with their clients units, and again, while some re-sellers are cool and polite, others are not.
    So i guess this is just something unfortunate for anyone trying to develop any type of community/business solution.

    I have also decided i will not sell our BIOS for now, for the same reasons as before, this would probably cause problems to some re-sellers (bricks) and we would probably be made accountable for and demanded for support. Again, i know this will make a LOT of crap fall in my email, but that´s just how it´s going to be. It´s not like i am giving in to pressure by someone, it´s just that there are actually cool people and cool re-sellers with whom i can speak and debate, and after debate this is my position. I promise i will keep thinking about a way to do this.

    BTW here´s the #1 email messages that we get at the store:

    "How to download BIOS"
    "How to install bios in my clevo"
    "I need the updated BIOS"
    "**Insert Model** send bios to me"

    Usually emails that start like that are going to end really bad once we reply explaining things... i just wanted to have a way to end this crap, like "You want it, buy it, at least we get app money to invest in making the app better"...

    About the app
    License system is done. I will make a NBR exclusive License file for you guys to add to the app dir, this way you can keep using the app to select your model and wifi and install/update drivers.

    If you dont copy the file to the app dir the app wont work. This way i can be sure that anyone (besides our clients) that are using the app are actually people from this forum, and not this insane daily 60GB to 170GB that comes from people who never even seen this thread. Heck a typical day gets me 110,000 hits just on app files! I need to filter this somehow or ill need to upgrade either the server or the CDN plan.

    Who ever decides to buy a license can rest assured we will invest it in improving the app and rewarding anyone who helps us.

    Hope this makes sense and makes everyone happy.
    Updates should roll out today or tomorrow :)
    I would be grateful if we could all just stop talking about anything else, special BIOS related stuff.

    EDIT: I reserve the right to block any re-seller and any BIOS strings from using the app. Even with the NBR license the app might block your re-seller if he has been rude. I also reserve the right to block modified bios that i find are poorly designed. So, basically, i reserve the right to block laptops that are sold or are using bios from entities that i believe are doing a disservice to the community or to the "CLEVO" name.
    Also license works by checking with server, so app only works with internet connection, which is pretty much the point of it anyway.

    The 4K screens are very nice, I had 4 of them before I got one that didn't have a screen bloom then the GFX cards started playing up before 3XS ended up replacing the entire machine with a lesser screen.

    As for the warranty claims, most resellers offer 2 years as standard, 1st year collect/repair/return, 2nd year repair only. So the first year there will be not cost to you (pre or post brexit), most resellers in the 2nd year will arrange pickup and return their end at a reasonable fee, normally a lot cheaper than you can arrange. Hell I sent a P570WM to Australia a few weeks back via UPS for a little over £50.

    Legal protection well always pay on Credit card that does at least offer you some protection.

    Buying a from a UK reseller is ok if your willing to sort the overheating/throttling yourself eg delidding cpu but then you'll lose any warranty as you will if you flash PremaMod. So dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.

    Waiting till after brexit will most likely make these machines unviable due to new import duties.

    It's illegal to reject a warranty claim with a custom flash when the flash had no impact on the fault.

    Anyway john asked not to derail the thread any longer so I'll shut up.

    Nope, you do not need to do anything. App will detect that you are using a OBSIDIAN-PC Laptop.

    I hope that you're on good terms with TEKadvice, the Romanian reseller since he is the one who provided my laptop. At this moment, I am much warmer on working and buying from other countries, I received literally tens of packages to date, but back when I bought my laptop, I didn't receive a single package yet from outside of Romania, so I was concerned...

    Anyways, I hope that you'll keep improving your app in the meanwhile!

    I also hope that you sort things out in there and that the community will keep advancing!

    - Fixed some stuff with the "Update All" button
    - Improved system tray and timers to remove duplicate code
    - Fixed the check for updates every X time
    - Fixed Start TS with Windows option was not saving
    - Support Tab added
    - Solved Control Center update process, after uninstalling it was not resuming right away, it would download the package again first
    - Added Admin elevation - was trying to avoid this but it was just causing too much problems and limitations

    I have had 0 issues with my clean install of Win 10 Creators Update, and BIOS 1.05.05, even if Prema was offered, or BIOS 1.05.06 or something, I don't think I would flash, if everything is running great, 100 fps gsync no drops, and good temps, why risk breaking what isn't broke? ^^

    Extract the contents of the zip file.
    Inside there is a file called license.
    Copy that file to the OBSIAN TOOLS folder.
    Make sure you are running latest OBSIDIAN tools app.

    What does Ring Max clock in overclocking in BIOS? I set mine to 39, and all cores to 39... everything seems fine so far... but eh...

    After you copy the license file to the app folder you need to restart the app and also be sure your are connected to the internet.
    When you say "my lizens" you mean "your license"? Or do you mean the "free nbr license"

    Are you using a stock BIOS? I was not aware that option was available in the BIOS.

    See my earlier screenshot, but that was the NBR license put in presumably the correct place on the left (same folder as the launcher), with the latest version on your site whilst connected to the internet and it's giving me license not found as well.

    Are you sure you are really closing the app and opening again?
    Right click the icon in system tray, exit.

    I copied the license file in before I ever ran it the first time, this is a new install. But yes, I've closed/re-opened, even rebooted several times.

    Seem to have the licence working but have text about not valid licence on some tabs, which is to be expected on some tabs but not on settings and the others tabs, see pics.

    i used the free nbr license ... i do it in the Obsidian Luncher folder .. not working

    The free NBR license works just like that.
    You can select your model and wifi and you can install and update all drivers.

    Ah, then appears to work for me. You may consider changing the message as it is little confusing. Maybe just put a message in the header bar saying something like "NBR licence found - restrictions apply" and just make any options we can't use unselectable or have them disappear altogether.

    Yeah it makes sense, sorry for that confusion, it´s still a initial release (license wise) i will try to improve it and make it more easy to understand.
    Probably with next update i will change that and bring new features i been working on :)

    That's still not working. Removed the old directory, downloaded this zip, extracted it and re-ran the application. Still have the same message.

    That is so weird.
    I just tried in another laptop, downloaded from here:

    Extracted
    Then downloaded license:
    https://www.obsidian-pc.com/nbrlicense.zip

    Extracted the license file from that zip
    Moved the license file to the app folder and voila, as long as connected to internet, it works...

    Dear John I just bought an Ultimate license, but I still need to receive my email. Was anything gone wrong?

    I made a mess: i tried to buy one license before, but my browser crashed and I needed to buy another one. Now I've one license order in pending (please delete it) and another one bought with CC but without receiving any license so far.

    94 is a bit high.
    For the license you bought, We will profile your CPU, but keep in mind we can only go as far as the Colling system, so it will depend on the thermal paste, if the CPU is delidded or not and if there is no gap in the heatsink.
    We will make you 4 profiles, one will be called gaming, worst case scenario we will need to cap the CPU so there's no throttle and no high GPU temp during games.

    I was going to advice you to use something else than server response from your main server because it might throttle in the long run...

    Hello John, I have a Bug report to do with the remote control window and 4K screen. This is what appears in this case:

    Meanwhile: I've spoken with my reseller (Santech) about the GPU high temps and they answered saying that the temperature is normal, and if needed I can use the full fan speed (Fn +1).

    Still I'm quite worried, this is the graph of the temperature while playing Diablo III for 10 minutes on yesterday:

    For me it's not normal at all to have 94 celsius all the time.

    PS: after the last CC update, my previous high temp on the CPU have disappeared. Now the CPU works fine, never go up over 91/92 celsius even under heavy stress. But the problem seems to be the GPU right now.

    WOW! thats high, even on the CPU. if it doesn't void your warranty with Santech try replacing the thermal paste. if that doesn't work your probably gonna have to send it in for a warranty repair. just keep on Santech about it.

    - Fixed - sometimes app did not start any connection to check the license
    - Improved the Add TS and Remove TS from Schedule Tasks, action was not always working.
    - Improved the function to restart TS

    DISCLAIMER:
    We had some users buying the Ultimate License, and this morning we started making our remote connections to tune the CPUs and check the systems. While some units performed as expected we are shocked with how some units are overheating, not by a bit, but by A LOT, cases where even with Turbo boost disabled the system will still overheat. This is really bad, and we recommend caution! When you buy your laptop please test it as soon as it arrives to you, it makes a HUGE difference from one re-seller to another.
    Because of this, if you are one of those unlucky owners, please sort the temperature problems with your re-seller, then contact us again and we will re-do the remote tuning for free.

    Did you already install those drivers?
    Please install them and reboot and let me know if it solves the problem.
    Are you installing drivers on default paths? Like C:\Program Files ?
    Are you running Windows 10?

    I reinstaled windows 10 a few months ago and used the app to install all the drivers, then i deleted the app and when i installed it again, these 2 drivers didn't show up. They r instaled on default paths i guess, i didn't change anything abt it. Should i force install? Im sure that drivers are already instaled.
