thank you!!! I figured it out, except for what do you mean to do under change system defaults? i did the first part, but then when i click on advanced tab, and then change system defaults, it has no checkbox under it like the first one did, still shows me gtx 1070 as display, etc... can you share an ICC profile with me that you use? will it not just default to nvidia now? going to reboot and test...


update: i just rebooted and nvidia color profile is still not sticking when i launch sniper elite 4 and a few other games. i don't know what you mean by change it also in advanced tab though... is there a way to save my nvidia control panel color settings as an icc profile and thats what i have to do? add it to that list? hmmm screenshots might be helpful if you don't mind mate... its driving me nuts all my games look so dark after i overclock from 75hz to 100hz. and i can't live without my 100hz... just makes games look so much better, even over 75hz lol... seriously considering a 240hz 1080p next year just for the pure bliss of no motion blur.

Do you plan to support the P950 anytime soon?

 

The guide I gave was for ICC profiles, like the ones you get after a LCD calibration.
That's not the same as changing the Nvidia color settings in NVIDIA Control panel.

 

np, thanks man. i decided to just use windows calibrator using link you give me in advanced tab. its ok for now i guess... i would go back to windows 8.1 but for some reason it says my key is not valid, worked fine for a year, oh well. hopefully fall update fixes some of my issues

 

So I've been still having issues with the audio driver. The version I get from the app (6.0.1.8205) seems to install fine (I get no errors or anything) but I can never get any sound. It just doesn't work unless I roll back the driver. Even trying to 'test' the sound in the configuration window I get

"Failed to play test tone"

 

What is your model and windows version?

 

No worries, I went back to win 8.1 and loving it had to use the github zeffy DRM kaby lake hack, but oh well cant stand the bloat of win 10.

Ahhh wait, i just checked it, you selected the "Use latest Audio Driver even if it breaks SBX" option didn´t you?
When you select that option you get a driver that breaks SBX, that the latest official Realtek Audio driver.
When you go for that option you need to test if it actually works perfect with your model, to this date i never seen a case where it did not so i am not really sure why it is happening to you, i will update that package in the next 30ms.

I used your Obsidian Tool with no purchase. My unit is Sager NP8157.

My problem is that my ethernet is not working properly. It's showing "UNIDENTIFIED NETWORK , NO INTERNET ACCESS" when i connected the lan cable from the router.

My question is the driver for ethernet is included in your Obsidian tools? If not where I can download? And also what do you think is the problem? Thanks

When you go to device manager under "Network" or "Network Adapters" what devices are listed?

 

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC Bug report: Audio 6.0.1.8210 does not work on P650RS-G. Totally cannot produce audio.

 

Well that is VERY weird, @GeoFrank91 confirmed it is working on his P650RS...
Can you please try to re-install.
It is usually a two step process, first it uninstalls, requests a reboot, after reboot it installs new driver and then reboots again.
The Realtek Audio package usually works with ALL models, at least i never seen one that would not work, on my systems it is working from the N130 to the P870.

Nop sorry, every time i do anything audio related i use external monitors and audio interfaces, more like studio level stuff. When i plug the headphones to the laptop i run it all flat, no sbx, just stock realtek drivers.

Humm you mean reading it with a chip reader? I do not think there is currently no way to read/flash them.
Maybe i am wrong?
Also i do not have any P650RS in stock, i can read from a P650HS tho.

Is it me, or is TS service check in Obisidian Tools v.1.04.07 broken? TS starts with Windows and everything seems to be working fine, but OT says "No, the TS Service task is not running!". Kill -> Start fixes it, but as soon as I hit Check again, it goes back to "No...".

 

If it is it wont be, i fixed that way back, maybe did not push it in latest update.
I will push a update today.
Remeber, if update button does not work just double click the "update.exe" inside the app folder.

I just purchased an Elucktronics P650HP6-g, and what a solid laptop. I also was unimpressed by the lack of bios/driver update availability from Eluktronics so I ordered the top tier license of the Obsidian update tool as I have seen a few people saying it will work. Just curious if this will in fact be compatible with my particular laptop before I get/use my license. Thanks in advance

i only manage to do a undervolt of -80/70 my in my n850hk (and sometimes it still crash, when using madvr in mpc), is that normal? in every place i look everyone says the i7 7700hk manage a +/- 100/110 mv

 

What kind of crash are you getting?

If only madVR crashes, this usually has another problem that is causing it.

 

no, not only with madvr. I cannot manage to do more than -80mv in undevolt, more than that it shuts down. compared with the values i read in several places it seems to low. is that normal?

 

How long does it take to get the license emailed after purchase? I just got the update requiring the license.
