Yes I did buy it from HID. What is the PREMA BIOS exactly? How do you install it if it's not installed? I don't get my laptop till Wednesday.

The configuration page for the P950HP6 had this under Operating System: "

Operating System *
Clean install on your primary SSD or HDD with Custom Prema BIOS and all drivers updated - No bloatware
"

So I'm assuming it will be installed.

Getting a dialogue box that says Throttlestop version has expired - my app version is 1.04.09 on the basic license. Are we due an update?

EDIT: Fixed by redownloading the app, but the version number hasn't changed. Weird.

 

i might give this a try. i don't need throttlestop since i have the prema bios for my overclocking needs.

EDIT: oh well, it doesn't support my model.

 

I tried it months ago, other than the Control Centre app the profile for the P870DM3 worked fine for my P870DMG for all the other drivers (you obviously wouldn't do VGA, being aftermarket)

 

I don't have the CC installed anyway as it conflicts with my overclock.

XTU is disabled in the version of CCC the Obsidian Tool installs.

 

I don't overclock via xtu anyway because I have the prema bios flashed.

I know. All I was saying is that you could theoretically use this version of CCC without interfering with your BIOS OC settings.

Not that there are too many features in CCC that one couldn't do without...

 

It's not the cpu oc I was worried about it's the gpu oc that ccc screws up.

I would like to thank everyone for the this amazing first month of sales for our app.
In one month the sales alone were enough to pay the annual bill for the server! Was not expecting it.

FYI updates are not being release because the job at hand is a bit... "complicated" trying to integrate the Open hardware monitor libs in a smart way

Just having those drivers available when I reinstall windwos means a lot to me!

 

A great tool and so valuable to all CLEVO buyers (as long as your model is supported). I'll definitely be knocking on the door marked "Obsidian" when it comes to my next laptop purchase too, even as a UK buyer. Nice to see strong customer focus and a philanthropic approach to the wider market - yes the NBR license is a good start point, but I believe in paying a reasonable fee to support development and help meet costs - so I am happy that the license fee I (and others) paid is helping to do that. Keep up the good work!

 

It seems to have problems detecting the correct IME version. The fingerprint driver is also not compatible with the DM1 so I just don't use it nor the graphics drivers since they need to be pre-modded before installation.

IME is actual a easy detection, unless you do not have it installed or have a really odd/old version.
As for incompatible between version i guess there are some, that´s why there´s a version selector to prevent that

 

I have 11.7.0.1027 installed but the app says 11.7.0.1025 as the latest version.

It's normal

 

Trust the app then.
That means the latest package from Intel is called 1027 but the driver is still the 1025... I just hate when they do that.

Why? For the app the latest version is the actual latest version not the 27 one.

Hey @John@OBSIDIAN-PC so I'm not sure what happened. But recently, if I ever restart my computer, I will receive a message saying that Throttlestop version is expired.

I have tried redownloading the app but that didn't yield any results!

Is there perhaps a bug, or is there a way I could try to download throttlestop again separately?

If you re-download from here: https://www.obsidian-pc.com/files/OBSIDIAN TOOL/OBSIDIAN_TOOLS.zip just replace the throttlestop.exe file and it will be fine.

I figured out the problem. I didn't delete the other Obsidian Tools app, and I was still getting notifications from that one, rather than the newer one.

Ah i see, in the windows update catalog, well, i never go with those, i usually wait for the setup release, then i test it and if everything is working fine i update in the server.
I´m sure ill update it in the next couple of days. The catalog file it´s a pain to create a setup.exe for the app to trigger.

 

Actually where u get the audio driver? I cannot find it at Realtek official website. I only found 6.0.1.8186 with no Realtek control center driver.

 

Hey john , grats on your app going on sales and getting the support you deserve. Just one quick question, i've not been looking much at the forum in the last months nor had time to update my laptop. today suddenly my throttlestop tells me the version has expired, i try to update your app and without any warning it won't reverse the update and just force me to get the license or just close the app, i wanted just my ts to work for a quick gaming session after a very long while now.. i don't mind supporting your app, which you deserve anyway.. i just wanted the old product to keep working a few hours more , sighs. What are the correct steps to re enable my throttlestop and your application together? do i just buy a license from yourwebsite for 15 euros and it reverts everything back to normality? thanks john

 

Please note im not the TS developer.
TS is usually a time limit free app, but the developer is such a cool guy that when the time is up you just need to re-download the latest again:

As for getting the app to work there is a free license if you just want to use the drivers update feature:

If you want more features from the app you will need the appropriate license version.

 

if i get the licensed version, do I get TS with it as well? yes i know you are not the developer in fact i would donate onto his paypal sometimes but still cause it was handy i would always use the one that come with your app. thank you!

 

The app only includes a set of features to add TS to windows startup and load a settings file, nothing fancy.
To get all the features of the app it´s the "Advanced License", if you just want to be able to use TS, it´s inside the app folder under Throttlestop, just go there and run the file, and if you want, add it to startup manually if it´s not already so.

 

i'll just get the basic version at least i support your work )

Those 3 updates should be available in the app.

I´m guessing what you are trying to say is that it does not support the 6.0.1.8224 driver right?
That is very odd, looking at the supported hardware it does list the ALC898.
I would try to re-install it:
-Uninstall
-Restart
-Instal

 

Can you guys report on the Airplane driver update.
Tell me if this new version updated perfect with your unit and if not please tell me what is your laptop model.

Ok im assembling one now to test, i will try to make a modded driver that works, otherwise i will have to split the Airplane version according to models, which is a shame.

What is the new version? I have 1.4.0.7 installed which is ahead of the latest 1.4.0.5 according to O-Tools.

I have this version, too. Installed via Windows Update.

 

App updated to 1.04.10

-Now have the ability to install Windows Update Catalog drivers - Will only use them after proper testing.
-Minor UI changes

Airplane driver updated to 1.4.0.7 -> Please let me know if your model does not support this version.
