Talking about BIOSes:
How about adding the functionality to download vanilla BIOSes and ECs for non-Obsidian customers?

You know, "advanced users" tab, some big fat "you are doing this at your own risk" warning and all.

Keeping track of the most recent releases is a real pain in the ass.

 

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC Is it possible to somehow activate the integrated Intel GPU on the P870KM ?
I have a feeling that I saw such an option in one of the previous BIOS versions and that it's gone now. Although I never tried it.

 

Nope that's impossible.
No iGPU on that model, the way it's routed won't allow it.

That's a bummer though. Looks like I need a new Kaby Lake mini pc to play my 4K Blu Rays. Only the Kaby Lake iGpu is supported at the moment.

P870KM1-G , For me windows keeps saying you need to restart your computer to finish the installation of Airplane. It says it every time I restart

 

wth even though the cpu comes with IGP cant use it? what if disable both discrete GPU or remove them then can people use iGP?

That' what usually happens if it's the wrong version of Airplane software for your laptop model. Used to see that all the time when I was a system installer

 

I had hope the same Airplaine driver would work for all models.
Seems i will need to split the driver for some models.
Will fix that on next app update.

 

I know this is the wrong place to ask, but I am not sure where to go. In any version of Windows 10 on my Clevo laptop games will run 24 fps in windowed mode, and 100 fps (100hz oc) in full screen mode.

I tried borderless window gaming app, and the funny thing is, when I alt tab from a windowed game, it will go from 24 fps to 100 fps, but when i click on the game to go back to it, back down to 24 fps, lol... sigh... full screen is fine i guess. just annoying

 

Just to say the Clevo site is showing a new Control Centre version for the P650HS. Listed as " Update Control Center AP : v5.0001.1.37"

As usual, the file can't be downloaded as the FTP link is broken. Great support from Clevo again!

 

A new GeForce driver release is out: 385.28

 

Downloading it now, will upload the app as soon as my download ends.

 

Nice to see so many people are supporting you. I'll do that too but am wondering if it's a lifetime license or a yearly renewal thing?

quick question! Where do you check your versions for CCC? I have a CCC from my reseller at Eurocom and my version is v5.0001.1.27

However on your app, the latest is 5.0001.1.07

Is there a way to check which is the latest one? I'm only asking cause for whatever reason, my volume is not saving after locking,sleeping,logging out etc. So I imagine it's a bug with the CCC I'm using. Thanks again John!

Hummm the P650RS got no update that I know. A more recent version like from the P650HP might work but you need to test it.
Using CCC from other models don't always work perfect.

Hello John

Could Obsidian app help me for Clevo 670-HS-G (not sure if this model is supported?)
I need to fix issue with fan control it is working terrible at the moment (to play games I just use maximum as other settings don`t work)
And I also want to undervolt CPU (to lower down temperatures) - currently using XTU

Can I also get it with Obsidian app?
Difference between advanced and basic tabs - what I receive more as on your website is not described fully?

Can your app also do OSD with fps and temps?

 

Fan Control behavior is not something you can do with software, for that you need a different EC Firmware.

What the app can do is if you buy the Advanced Version we will send you a TS Profile with undervolt that should help you lower the temperatures. But please notice you can already do it for free with Throttlestop.
As for OSD with FPS and Temps, no, we have no OSD stuff, we can add that info with desktop widgets or in system tray icons, that´s it for now, in the future with full Open Hardware Monitor libs working inside the app, we will be able to do more.

So what the app does:
Basic Version:
- Driver Updates

Advanced Version:
- Driver Updates
- CPU Tab for a easy way to load TS and load pre-made Profiles
- We also send you a pre-made TS Profile for your CPU
- Widgets Tab
- Support Tab which includes a remote desktop app like teamviewer (still in development)

Ultimate Version:
Just like the advanced version but instead of a pre-made TS profile we will connect to your system and manually make a profile for it, testing it in various usage scenarios -> this can take some hours of work.

 

Talking about these - when will they be sent out?

I think will try the app anyway for the sake of undervolting without XTU

Too bad there is no easy way to fix fan controls... In auto it doesn`t work after some time it is not increasing fan speed on my laptop - have to use maximum while playing premium games which is anoying (or maybe it is meant to be like that

Yeap the app supports the P6HS

 

This seems to be a potential issue with the Control Center, when I try to set the keyboard backlit profile to anything but Dance and custom the fans will stop spinning normally. I have a p650hp6 and I tried control center from Eluktronics and your obsidian control center too.

 

I updated the Control Center driver for that model yesterday night. Are you talking about the updated CCC version?

 

No I didn't try the new updated version, I'll try it now and will let you know thanks.

Side note that the Intel MEI driver crashes with the app for some reason, I had to manually go to the driver folder and repair it.

 

Same thing happens with the new version

I am using the free license with this program and in Control Center i have this version:
5.0001.1.33 and it is always the button active to update to: 5.0001.1.27

Is this a bug?

 

If you have the stock CCC version then it´s not "a but" it´s just that CLEVO named the version like "Control Center v5.0001.1.37" while i name it without the "Control Center v" text.
Still i would never recommend anyone using a CCC version downloaded from CLEVO website... it installs the XTU service which is really not recommended.

Hi Johny, can you please share me your secret (here in the Thread or via PN) how to remove/stop the XTU Service in the CCC Hotkey Tool. I have now a Clevo model W650KK1 (which is not supported by your tool) and cannot use your tool anymore to get your non XTU Hotkey Variant. So i would like to patch it myself....

 

Oh it´s very easy.

-Uninstall CCC
-Power Off
-Hold FN+D+PowerUP to reset
-Download latest CCC
-Extract CCC package
- Search for and edit a file called oem.ini

Change this:
SupportXTUFanTable=1
to this:
SupportXTUFanTable=0

-Save the file
-Install (run the setup.exe)
-Reboot

If your model already is at 0 then you dont have the XTU service by default.

 

perfect thanks for this useful Info. Its already Set to 0. So i can install it without any hassle....
BTW i am still using your tool set Laptop Model to P650RS and can update the drivers but i skipped Hotkey/Intel ME/Audio/SBX/Fingerprint because these drivers/tools seem system specific.

Is Intel ME system specific or can i update my version to the latest P650RS version without a risk?

 

Intel ME is not specific.
Fingerprint should also work, there´s only two types of FP if i recall correctly, the ones used in P7 series and the ones used in P6 and remaining models.

hey john i updated the airplane mode drivers via your app and after i rebooted there was a drivers conflict or something in the device managers.. i let windows autofix the problem with their tool and it fixed even though it didn't revert the driver versions to last one.. idk what it did.. it still shows the update drivers now... i thought i would let you know
