CLEVO Drivers Update Utility by OBSIDIAN-PC

After updating Control Center you need to click the SynTP Fix again, it will remove the registery keys just like the famous workaround.
As for the ME, i still have no idea why that happens, it´s the second time i see it.

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC The tool should not make tray notification for outdated bios when the notebook is from another reseller and the tool won't update it. Also, I've now updated the bios to a newer version than the tool offers but the tool still fires the tray notification .

Also, does your bios version include letters? Because the comparison should work and detect when you are ahead.

A lot of updated drivers today.
Since a lot of drivers are almost impossible to download from the CLEVO website, CLEVO was kind enough to send them to me by Google Drive, so most Control Centers are now updated for latest Windows Build.

 

Yes, my bios version is 1.05.08RNS1 and the latest available is 1.05.07.

 

then that´s it, i didnt make the comparison ready for letters since we dont use it.
But ill be removing the BIOS update info for non-clients so it wont bug you anymore.

 

John, I would say for non-clients, just leave a message saying the latest bios version is bla but disable the update or other notifications associated with it.

At least we're able to see what's the latest bios available and have the ability to ask our resellers to get us the latest version. If you hide it, then we won't be able to see this info.

On top of that you already mentioned that this particular section is for your clients only. Maybe rethink on how to phrase it, and highlight certain words. Or be blunt and say in big red colors that this section is clients only.

I don't understand why the BIOS is not showing for me. 1.05.07 but I am Obsidian laptop, it says Obsidian everytime I boot my laptop up. I'd like to get the latest BIOS if possible.

 

BIOS is not showing what?
It should show latest available version and the available installed versions.
Show me a print from the BIOS tab so i can understand the problem.

Ohhh there is a new BIOS from CLEVO yes, but i still have not made the OBSIDIAN-PC version update, i always need to pick that version and do the mods and launch it for OBSIDIAN-PC laptops.
So, technically, there is no update, yet. You will need to wait a bit longer.

 

Would be nice if Clevo posted the BIOS's somewhere... why are they some great secret?

 

Hello. I have a Clevo laptop, model P650 RE6, with CPU i7 6700HQ and GPU Nvidia GTX 970M. I want to use the Obsidian Tool, but I cannot find my laptop model in the list of the application. There is any away of using this application for my laptop? Thank you.

 

Ah no problem at all then John, my apologies for misunderstanding you. I was under the impression you had already loaded it up was all. Cheers, no rush at all. If there is anyway you can let me increase CPU fan speed just a tiny notch more I would like that haha but I understand if not possible.

Yes you can.
Fully compatible.

 

That model is not supported, you can still select a model like the P650HP6, and use for almost drivers. The only drivers which are not the same:
- Control Center
- Audio / SBX
- Fingerprint and Airplane i´m not sure, you need to test.

To test use the free NBR license.

 

I'm using a P651HS-G, will I be able to use this, or some parts of this? Having to deal with the clevo download page is a nightmare and I'm starting to get desperate for something else..

 

HS is fully supported, just select P650HS from the model list.

 

My actual model number is Clevo P65_67HSHP

How comes this model is not listed anywhere? I always just select the 650HS/670HS one. lol

That is the motherboard reference.

It means that motherboard is the same for all these model bases:

P650HS
P670HS
P670HP

Also same BIOS for all those 3 models and all variants.

I really dont like that reference since it makes one beleive that the P650HP would also be included, which is not... P650HP uses another motherboard and another BIOS.

 

Ah ok, lol. So why do you have P670HP seperate as an option from "P670HS and 650HS" you have those two combined to choose from in in Obsidian tools (that is the one I always select, even thought it has always defaulted to P670HP) I didn't realize they were the same. So why not just combine all 3?

 

Sometimes I need to split due to different control centers or SBX/Audio drivers.
Some models might have a subwoofer and you should use an appropriate SBX.
So I might split due to bios or due to drivers for subwoofer version.

Mine has a little subwoofer on the bottom of the laptop, so which one should I use?

 

You should use the P650HS / P670HS
Also you can always check on the bottom of your laptop, there should be a serial number, something starting with NKP6, that will also indicate the model

I get every time I start a game after 2-5 minutes a BSOD with VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE nvlddmkm. sys!
Does anyone have any experience with it?
And can someone send me the current BIOS?

 

So what is the fix? I think i have the latest ms update but when i use the tool i keep getting the “this system is vulnerable” message

You install this for it to say system is patched and no longer vulnerable.

Just letting John and everyone I consider a friend here know that the new Intel 9265 WIFI with Bluetooth 5.0 are now on sale for around $25 free ship. I grabbed one off Ebay for $27 free ship. Will be replacing my 8265 WIFI chip You can find them on Ebay, only shipper at the moment is China, but I order things from China all the time and it usually only takes 10-13 days to get here. Time to update those drivers baby! Cheers everyone.

Oh and hey John, I don't expect you to update Obsidian Tools to support it haha, no worries mate, will do it manually with a quick intel 9265 search (already got them downloaded)

BIOS is only for people who buy direct from Obsidian. The tool will work for drivers, but no BIOS.

 

The tool won't run on my 775TM1. It's slow to load, then gets stuck on "Checking to see if we need to load widgets", spinning forever and the window is completely unresponsive, and has to be killed with task manager.

Any idea what the problem is or how I can get the tool to work?

Oh, well, was worth a shot. Figures. Not too big of a deal though, I was able to grab all of the drivers either strait from Intel or from the Clevo web page. Kind of disappointed I couldn't get them through the reseller w/o purchasing a USB drive.

 

You did receive the drivers CD that comes from Clevo. We still don't understand why they provide a CD when there is no optical drive in the machine. I guess they figure you can use an external optical drive.

However since the CD is all Clevo provides, we offer the external optical drive, and the USB flash drive, as options.
