Actually, I think it was an internet connectivity thing. Perhaps the license not found message is the default if it can't connect to the server.

 

Im sure its been asked but does this work with all clevo or just obsidian based? is my model supported P870TM1

 

It works with all Clevo models, but Obsidian also gets their special BIOS

 

I think Obsidian puts to shame most of the EU resellers. I'm regretting not going with them for my latest Clevo purchase.

That was my first thought after I've bought mine.

Installing newest audio driver for P670HP6-G breaks the microphone. I've installed recently Realtek Mod from the other thread. I'll see if it's related or not.

Looks like it is not. It works with newest version downloaded from Clevo website.

 

Yeah, I still still have to use the original January, 2017 Realtek drivers for my Clevo P670HS-G, anything newer makes the soundblaster driver sound worse or not work at all.

 

Has anyone tried Obsidian Tools with Windows 7? does it still work if you right click and run in compatibly mode with win 7 and set admin rights forced on both in properties settings?

Does this laptop you both are talking about have m.2 nvme support, the 15.6" model? link above ^ Also if I order that, is Eluktronics a good company, in that if I am not happy after 30 days I can refund it? I already have my own ram and a 960 evo 1tb nvme drive and my own OS.

 

Yes, mine has NVME support. Elucktronics has always been more than helpful with any questions but I would check with them on their return policy.

Going to stay away from Eluktronics after all, I emailed them a very specific question: "if I order from you, and I do not like gaming at 15.6" form factor, as long as everything is in mint condition as it arrived, may I return for a full refund? I do not know if I will enjoy 15.6" gaming is why I ask." their response: read our return policy, that was literally the entire email....

well I already read the return policy and it does not address my question... or if the unit has to be defective in order to return. well glad this happened, I am desktop for life moving forward. nothing but bad vibes from Cyberpower PC and now Eluktronics as well.

 

Their return policy offers a buyers remorse policy in which you would fall under. They could have handled that email better but your concern is most certainly covered.

It is a very good app, and is very likely to work even though your model is not specifically in the list. Just choose the model closest to yours and run it. It will show you a list of driver versions currently installed on your system, along with the latest drivers it has found, so if the version numbers make sense, go for it.

 

It’s definitely a great app. But it’s no longer free so I would prefer compatibility.

i have the same Model and can use drivers of the P651SG but skip (do not install) Realtek Audio / Creative - Soundblaster / Hotkey Control Center - CCC / Fingerprint.

Use the Missing drivers from CD or from clevo download mirrors

I need to reset my CMOS/BIOS manually, I changed to "Discrete" and now i just get a black screen on boot. MSHYBRID worked fine though.... please advise. thanks.

how do i do this reset? is there a battery on the mobo i can remove for 20 mins?

There's a CMOS battery under keyboard. Unscrew screws with keyboard picture, poke the hole without screw, also marked. Lift the keyboard and unplug the battery.

 

holding Fn + D + power button cleared teh CMOS for me. phoenix helped me ty though its nice to know that as well for emergencies

 

I just installed the AUO42ed Asus Zephyrus 120hz panel. Looks amazing as that panel is very high quality. No brightness adjustment allowed.

I have also installed a delided 7700k

 

Can you tell me what driver you were trying to install when that happened?
Or does that happens when you start the app?

 

Thanks for answer . When it download the driver it hapens in uncompressing proses. I tried delete all files and I also install 7zip setup but not working.

I tried before but now I tried with different location and it is working now.

 

Just noticed for the P650HS/G there is a new CCC on the Clevo download page (5.0001.1.74) which on the face of it appears to be newer than the one offered by the Obsidian app (5.0001.1.46 IIRC) Is there something I'm missing here - is this latest Clevo release somehow not compatible or bugged, and that's why the Obsidian tool doesn't offer it?

App updated to 1.05.14
Basically this was a long-due update, we finally made it easy to purchase and license the app.
When you purchase it you just need to use your order number to activate it.
No need to exchange emails and such!

We now have a dedicated team for: Web Development / Desktop and Mobile Software.
Cool new things coming in
New website just for this team is up, which is where you will be sent to purchase the license if you wish to.

 

So is this related to an update to the app or something, it still starts thottlestop on boot like it should but I've lost like half my tabs.

I forgot that initially CPU tab was part of basic license.

 

Just to let you know it's fixed, I still need a bit more time until I push the code for release because I'm also changing some other stuff.
Tomorrow or day after should update.

As for the app we are now moving to new sections, probably an add-on app.
I had this idea for a long time, for a windows10 optimization app, that can have profiles, each with a set of select boxes and ability to add command lines.

But if anyone has an idea of what should be coded next please suggest anything

How useful are the features in other tabs for people who don't have OBSIDIAN-PC laptops? Is it worth forking out the dough for the license, or should us guys just stick with the free nbrlicense? I'm pretty sure the BIOS tab won't work fully, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I don't mind if it starts saying OBSIDIAN instead of EUROCOM on the boot screen.

I like the optimisation idea. Razer has a utility that puts the laptop into gaming mode, turning off all features that might reduce gaming performance. I'd prefer something more general and customisable.

The current state of the app seems to be a little unstable - at least for me. I purchased a basic license last year and just now I had to reinstall the Obsidian Tools app. I copied my existing license file into the new Obsidian Tools folder but now I simply get a window that says “Software not activated” with a button for “Purchase”

I’ve also been asked for my order number in the app, and when I put this in, it gives another error message saying the order has not been processed (it was processed last July.)

Have tried latest download from Obsidian site.

What can we do to fix this please?

 

You could contact Obsidian, they give answers quickly each time.

UPDATE: Fixed for now, resorted to an earlier system restore point and seems to have addressed the issue. Still don't understand why it happened but whatever.

 

Only 3 things can make that happen:
a) Missing license file
b) Problems connecting to the server
c) System UUID changed

Please stop mailing me regarding the FN+F8 / FN+F9 shortcuts (brightness control) not working with latest Control Center or latest Intel HD drivers, there is no problem, you probably just need to update your BIOS / EC.
We patched our BIOS for latest ME/Microcodes and updated all other modules, tested in our systems and all is working as intended.
So please email your resellers for updates and not me! Did i say please? Latest BIOS and EC is .22 and .15
