Its ok your model is not yet fully supported so no worries....
But there was hundreds of messages, requests, people PMing like crazy to have the fan control, offering all sorts of money LOL.... and i just noticed, we did not sell 3 at all, there was actually only ONE sale, my mistake, i forgot i renamed OBSIDIAN-TOOLS and i was counting sales based on NON-OBTOOLS sales....
I always said it, at the end of the day the profitability of this will be based on deals with other re-sellers.
There is two directions for our company, growth based only on laptop sales, which is SLOW and not enough to cover software development, OR, developing software and selling both the software and laptops.
Well, if nothing else, the new software will look amazing in our new and soon to be released website
Its just that i cant stop this... when i start codding its like this addiction, i cant stop until its ready... but doing 99% of it is hard.

I just dont want anyone to think, look at this greedy guy, owning a company that is making all this software to suck money on our community.... trust me, im not... most of this is a) passion b) a way to at least bring some better recognition to our brand.

So updates sometimes can take a bit longer depending on the work i have in the real world (the one that pays bills, like the laptop).

 

That second sale was probably me ;-) as after typing that forum post I went ahead and purchased!

You have to be comped for your work, nothing wrong with asking for cash for something people will use.

 

Most of the other management members at our company were against it.. the initial idea was that the software should run ONLY on our units and that would be used as marketing to increase our sales, it would be a factor that could convince people to buy from us and not from other resellers.
So im doing my best to prove them wrong
And ive always been clean about any of our intentions.

Im not fully supported yet but im gonna purchase right now for show of support.

Fan controls for my system is going to relieve the stress of the nagging wife who moans whenever the fans ramp up. Lol

(Im also installing some quieter fans this weekend following a guide on these forums)

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC, one thing I'm really curious. Will Fan Control app potentially increase the lifetime of my laptop fan when I'm using automatic mode?

 

In the proper folder it started however I cannot change the EC... after 3 restart it started in silent mode, but I cannot change

 

That's because beta period ended until next update.
Should take a couple of days to get the new version out.

I came back to NBR -- JUST for this software. I love that its getting a makeover, the added control and looks like I've caught up as to why my free license from here is not working

Will gladly purchase the full software! IS the p650hs-g fully supported -Should I buy the Updater or the fan control package? (and fan control includes the license for the Updater?)
The p650 has optimums I believe on a 1060. Will most likely buy two packages, my wife and I have the same laptop and have been enjoying your tools! Thanks John for all the long, hard and free hours you have worked on this project - I agree its best left out of the full control of marketing Cant wait to see which resellers sign up!

Only Updater and Fancontrol have licenses.
Control Station and KeyboardLED will be free as an free alternative to the buggy CC.
P650Hx should be fully supported, let me know if something isn't working.
Fan control is in beta and you can use while beta is open, which is not at the moment, will open the beta on next update.

At the moment they are yes. Let's see how it goes and maybe we can either lower the price or make some pack deal.

 

So I am a little puzzled. FanControl indicates (on my Win 10 Pro P750DM2G) that the CPU temp is 20C. ThrottleStop reports 39C.

GPU (GTX 1060) reports 'Disabled'

Is the difference expected?

 

I like the sounds of a package deal. Here are some other ideas.
Maybe there could be a few other tiers to attract some usage, I saw the free license ended to save server demands.. Is that from the loading of the software and checking for updates... IF NOT then...
maybe a free preview could tell users IF their drivers are out of date, and the user would need to go look for the files to update (so the software would just check what the user has against what they should have)
the licensed software would update the drivers "for you" (how it works now)
and a premium license for 4 or 5 computers with both products for power users

Are you running the app from C:\Program Files\LaptopTools ???
GTX 1060 is disabled because you have optimus, so that's true, it's really disabled until you enable it, just opening NVIDIA control panel should enable it, that's how optimus works.
I'm using CPU Package temp at the moment, on a next update i will start using hottest core value, still there should NOT be such temp difference, i never got wrong reading on any system i used for testing.

I don't see it come available even with the nVidia control panel open. I'll read back in this thread in case this is somehow expected - it was working fine in a previous version, though, I'm sure.

I will check it out first thing tomorrow. Optimus was supposed to be sorted since some versions ago... maybe i broke something today... the release version should give you more monitor options including comparing EC values to values from software like OHM and allow you to choose which you want to use. I did this because i've seen EC report buggy values in the past.
For now just be sure you are not running other instances of Open Hardware Monitor on top of this.
I'll also add the ability to choose Package of highest Core tomorrow... should be easy...

Yeah i will need time to think... pricing and marketing is not really my area, but those ideas all sound good.
Control Station is free, it does not need any license.

 

OHM seems consistent with ThrottleStop's report.

EDIT: grabbed full package and overwrote everything. This seemed to nuke my fan control activation (so I had to re-enter the order number - not sure if this might trip a counter somewhere on your side eventually). No change in the disconnect between OHM and the temp reported in the GUI.

Also noticed that the fan table looks rather squished at 4k, 125% scaling. Scrollbars?

You can resize the window for better fitting.
Is the cpu temp and load showing correct?
If it's only the gpu that is not working then it's related to optimus, I'll check tomorrow if it's something affecting all Optimus or just your version in particular.

Edit... Oh ok I just noticed what's wrong... The fan control software is unable to fetch values from OHM in your system.
Something is blocking it, try restarting the unit. Something messed the included OHM files.
I guess I'll have to hardcode those to prevent this from happening.

If you have fan control or OHM starting with Windows remove them in the options.
Restart laptop.
Replace all files again with the ones from the link just to play it safe.
Start fan control, and don't run instances of OHM at the same time.
OHM is just a temporary solution.

You can activate the app any amount of times.

 

CPU temp in your tool is mismatched to OHM and ThrottleStop. ThrottleStop and OHM are consistent.

GPU being off is understood as a regression in the current code, but the mismatch has me puzzled for the CPU.

I understand that resizing is an option, but wondered if the scrollbar approach might allow for navigation even with a smaller window. I'm not massively distressed either way.

Fan control is just not able to sync AT ALL with OHM.
Something messed included ohm or you running other instances of it on boot.

Rebooted, nothing set to start at boot. Still the same issue. OHM only shows up in the process list when I start FanControl

 

I would love to inspect your system to check what's causing that. Can I connect by Team Viewer?
This is important because coding the stuff is ready, thinking about and preventing all that can go wrong is the hard part.

Any timeline on when P957HR will be supported? Even Euro35 is a lot for me and I really can't bite the bullet until I see my model in the supported models list.

I just purchased your Updater software. My laptop is Clevo P751DM2 (i7 7700k, 16GB RAM, gtx1070). Everything seems to work fine with the app except for it not detecting installed nor showing pertinent update for Control Center. The rest of the drivers are detected properly and updates if applicable shown, they download and install just fine. I don't have a clue why there's no mention of Control Center in the Updater app then...Could you possibly help me out with that issue?

 

Because i'm sick of Control Center... tons of emails everyday reporting BSODs caused by the hotkey keyboard filter, among others.
IF you read the posts a big back, you will notice i am making a replacement for Control Center.
New Updater does not include Control Center, but if you want i can send you the previous version 1.0 (same driver versions) and includes CC, you can use the same license for both.

I'm currently testing the fan control app of yours and considering the purchase although the price is a bit on the steep side... I need CC to control my keyboard leds as your keyboard led app is not working for me (it doesn't even start). Anyway thanks for your hard work making Clevo's not easy to find, cumbersome software more manageable and user friendly. Keep up good work!

How is the single license tied to the laptop? Will reinstalling Windows or a custom BIOS and (hopefully) a CPU with more cores cause an issue with reactivation?

wanted to say great work so far, and happily help an active dev taking on the task of cleaning clevos mess.

notes:
purchased the updater, uninstalled clevo control center rubbish
everything going well
however, when playing fortnite, I've blue screened twice,
stopcode: driver irql not less or equal
What failed: HKKbdFltr.sys

not following the protocol of changing 1 thing, i have gone and changed a lot of things on my laptop
i changed the underVolt, i uninstalled CCC, I already had the older version of obsidian tools, uninstalled that, then installed Updater, and then activated it, and proceeded to update, and installed the new fan control
so trying to rule out a few things

Any body else get a HKKbd blue screen? or just me?

I have one more issue this time concerning Fan Control app. The app doesn't autostart with Windows despite ticking off the relevant autostart option while the Pc Control Station starts with windows without any problem when choosing its autostart. Anything I can do to make the fan control start with windows? I made my custom manual fan curve which works flawlessly for me so the ability to launch every time I switch on my laptop would be very useful. And one more small issue which bothers me is the fact that every time I turn off the computer both fan control and the whole Pc control station prevent the system from shutting down and I always have to click on "shut down anyway message'' to carry on with the shutdown which is a bit annoying. Any advice from you or someone knowleadgeable on this forum would be much appreciated.

Also, starting with Windows does have a 1minute delay... Wait a bit to be sure.

Tick the "do not show the exit dialog", I'll fix that prevent from reboot thing on next update...

Yes, I'm running fan control from C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\ - Pc Control Station runs autostart ok but fan control does not...

also PC Control Station and its widgests appear almost instantanously after windows starts...

 

I added a 1minute delay on purpose.
Untick and re-tick the start with Windows in the fan control.
That's a very basic task and a copy and paste of same code I use in all apps...
Should be easy for me to prevent that from going wrong... I'll take a look.
