Hi John! Your work is amazing. Really really appreciated :)
Do you think something like a Premier Pro CC colour configuration could be possible with your Keybord tool? or also for other configurations for Da Vinci Resolve? Many users use these softwares

I'm lost... What does a color proofing software have anything to do with keyboard Led?

Wait... What? You mean the Updater software? To update drivers? Just set it to Start Minimized in its options.

Is it the same thing that happened to me the first time I was flashing your BIOS?

One question - is or will be Your software a true replacement for CCC in the way that CCC will no longer need to be installed?

I have never used CCC, went straight away with the Obsidian tool, works fine so far, it is a decent replacement of the CCC.

hello, I do have a Clevo P157SMA and I have been using drivers update utility very often.
Now I see that I could finally get rid of that infamous Clevo Control Center and I'm aeger to do it (its keyboard and mouse filters caused a lot of bsod in the past)

I've set up the new obsidian utility and I know that this model was never sold and therefore supported by obsidian but I do have some problems that maybe are fixable easily:

As some of you probably know, this model have a "problem" with headphone jack getting deactivated every time I enter-exit sleep mode. I was forced to always have CCC just to be able to use headphones and headsets after sleep, now I've seen that there is an option in obsidian utility to do that but I do have to click "fix headphones on startup" everytime I exit from sleep mode .I've noticed that also if I manually run "phonejack.exe" headphones do work flawlessy after that. I might be able to schedule a task running it after every standby but maybe John can integrate that function into the software easily? I hope that ^_^

The other secondary problem is that P157SMA keyboard does have another "led zone" wich is the flames on touchpad. Maybe it is possible to add control for led color of that zone too? But if it is too complicated ofc never mind.

Thank you for supporting so well the clevo community!

@J ohn@OBSIDIAN-PC whenever I connect or disconnect headphones the volume sets itself to 0% after 1 second or so. Managed to change the volume after connecting headphones to constant 40%, but I see no option to do so with speakers. Is there any chance to implement an option to remember volume levels when using speakers/headphones and restore to it after (un-)plugging them?

I'm thinking you need to change the -125 undervolt max to about -200. I have cpus that do less than -125.

If you mean the button yes I know, but I do have to check the box every time I resume from sleep in order to have working headphones jack, otherwise it remains silent. I was asking about integrating an auto schedule of your fix everytime the pc boots up OR resume from sleep :)

For the led, it's not that important. But the headphones jack problem it is, otherwise I would be forced to reinstall the old crappy ccc just for this matter :/

Thank you for your support John!

In Control Station software, in the Windows Tuning tab, there is a check box to fix Headphone problem.

When you check that and if you have Control Station starting with Windows, every time you boot it will start the headphone jack fix Automatically.

Isn't that enough? Do you mean that after each resume you need to reapply the fix?

    Yes, exactly.
I need to reapply the fix by unchecking and re checking the fix box everytime I resume from sleep.
So I was asking if you can integrate a fix that runs it everytime the pc wakes up from sleep too :)

Sorry if I didn't explain well but my English is not very good.

I do have the 0% volume bug too in case you re interested.

    Thanks!

    Go inside C:/program files/LaptopTools/libs/

Tell me exactly which exe fixes it after resume...
I'll add a filter to capture resume suspend and re execute it.

    Control Station updated to 0.0.23

    - Volume tab will now display if you are using speakers or headphones
    - On disconnecting headphones it will restore previous volume from before you plugged the headphones
    - Suspend resume filter added to re-trigger the headphone fix if it is enabled

@oile @mcalago @Alex Please report if all is fixed now.

Yeah this is pretty great. I only really needed it for keyboard backlight control but even so, it's great especially for users who don't have all their FN commands built into the EC (to my knowledge it is only the P870DM3 that does?)

Volume starts at 0% after you unplug the headphones is that it?
That should be fixed by now.

    Which hotkeys do not work?
Most of them should work, but yeah, ditching CC on some models will result in loosing some of the keyboard hotkeys... which do you miss the most? I can add an option for user to create their own hotkeys...

Run Fan Control on startup and check "Enable Hotkeys" under "System" tab.

I don't have "start app with windows" checked as I've added my own scheduled task, so just ignore it.

FN + 1 is EC for all systems, it will work at any time once fan control is not running (as it overrides that command).

    For me, FN + F1 (touchpad), F2 (screen backlight), F3 (mute), F5 & F6 (volume up/down), F7 (multi-monitor) and F10 (webcam) all work.

I don't have brightness control with my existing driver so I can't test F8/F9 (though I'm pretty sure they work), and F4 has no key on it so I don't know what it does. Sleep causes my system to crash for reasons unknown so I won't test F12 either but I think it works. I never installed the airplane driver to test F11. Keyboard light doesn't work.

@John@OBSIDIAN-PC think you could let me turn off the LED behind my screen with keyboard LED? Even if I turn off lights on that program the backlight remains on. If this isn't a priority, I understand, but I'll test for you any time.

All FN keys are working as intended with OBSIDIAN-PC BIOS 1.06.12 and EC 1.06.06

So basically the headphones NEVER work?
    Even on first boot?
Because that is not the typical bug, they should work, the bug is just after resume with headphones already plugged.

They don't appear to. The Realtek app doesn't seem to recognize the jack except as optical out (my understanding is that this is a dual purpose jack - optical and headphone). The headphones only work with the line out jack - the realtek application recognizes something being plugged in there and prompt (although that realtek application confuses me greatly and seems pretty awful)

That is very weird, are you sure it´s not a hardware problem? Did it ever work? Does it work if you install CC ?
Are you whiling to try another audio driver and report back?

I'm not sure of anything to be honest. Reading around, it seemed like the headphone jack was only enabled as such with the problematic keyboard driver (that I blocked from loading a while back to avoid bluescreens). So, my memory is fuzzy and I do not want to make assertions that I cannot back-up with data.

It's not a critical issue, but I'll try alternate drivers if there's a possibility they might help.

Just to reiterate, Control App is initializing the headphone port with the option enabled, however, the volume is always set to 0 upon wake from sleep.
