For me it doesn't matter, I have volume knob on keyboard which also exhibits the issue when used.

Ahhhhh I think I know what's causing this...
Well I'll have it sorted in the next days, I also got testing hardware to reproduce it ;)

So i have a question for everyone that has uninstalled Control Center. Have you had any problems/regrets? I purchased control station, but i'm using them concurrently. Is it ready to take over for good?
    Thanks

Yes, although Control Station is mostly complete and is just missing GPU switching. KeyboardLED is currently in active development now so we'll see how that goes. In fact, Control Center throttled my GTX 1070 to 1443MHz if it reached 72C+. CS also has the fix for headphones that when plugged in after sleep, wouldn't work. So yes again, you can safely switch over to Control Station.

Only thing is, after uninstalling CC, my keyboard backlight is always on and blue and I cannot turn it off as well! Hopefully today's update fixes it since its a major one.

P.S. Purchased Control Station? It's free; only Fan Control and Updater are paid apps.

    1) You lose the Numpad keys FN controls to adjust key lighting. Need to use KeyboardLED app to make adjustments.

    2) Previous versions had an issue with not enabling headphone port after sleep, but that has been rectified.

    3) Need to use BIOS to change MSHYBRID/DISCRETE toggle.

P870DM3 - CCC uninstalled - purchased Fan Control
    Everything works except
    lid LED control (minor annoyance)
Fn+numpad shortcuts for keyboard backlighting (that I miss not at all). But the app here is so much quicker and easier to use than the wacky chunky CCC GUI, it more than makes up for it

CCC, and Obsidian Control Center are on two different levels.

If you consider Obsidian support then I'd rather say on two different planets.

    @Alex @djsubtronic

Please replace your Control Station exe with this one:
    http://obsidian-pc.com/ControlStation_TEST.zip

in the settings tab you have 3 checkboxes:
    - Disable Mute Check
    - Disable Volume Check
    - Disable Headphone / Audio Device Check

try each option and tell me which solve your problem.
Please tell me something like this example:
    - Disable Mute Check - Does not solve my problem
    - Disable Volume Check - Solves my problem
    - Disable Headphone / Audio Device Check - Also solves my problem

    Hello John !

    My feedback on KeyboardLed
    - it still does not scale well for a 4k display, everything is way too small. Yes, I use the compatibility mode to override the DPI and use the System (enhanced) option to be able to scale well.
    - after the update the window of the new version of the app was huge, It took me a while to see that I can scale it now.... those dots on the window corner are not that visible if you keep you screen brightness on 20%
    - although I know that many will appreciate the ability to select a custom color, it's a nice touch indeed, I am sorry to see that I can't directly select a color from the drop down menus that are gone.
    - I might be wrong here but I am under the impression that the leds brightness don't go all the way up like it used to with the previous app
    - after the computer wakes up from sleep the keyboard led brightness is at the max... it does not revert back to the preset value

    I look forward to :

    - Disable (turn off) the Lid LED - I know that it's coming
    - Keyboard LED dim options - I would like to have the option to reduce the keyboard led brightness to a certain intensity (customizable) after x amount of minutes and/or turn off after another amounts of minutes after... more precise, my keyboard led are at 60% usually... if I don't touch the keyboard for 10 minutes I would like the led intensity to go down to 10%... if no keys were struck in the next 5 minutes led could turn off.
    - Keyboard LEDs will automatically turn on and off - I would like the have the option to be able to automatically turn the keyboard led in the evening (I need to be able to set the time) and turn off in the morning.... point being during day time the keyboard backlit is not needed if you work in the well lit room and will prologue the keyboard led life
    - maybe would be nice (for some) to be able to control the app (to determine it pop up from notification are) or control the brightness from they FN + (/) or (*) or (-) or (+) combination
    - in my case I would like to be able to use the FN + (/) or (*) or (-) as multimedia keys like "Prev" "Play/Pause" "Next" - I really miss having some multimedia keys on the Clevo Laptops
    - disable the windows key

    Thank you John!
Your work is much appreciated !

Disable Volume Check does indeed solve the problem, the other tick boxes have no effect.

Hey John, KeyboardLED isn't working for me at all! My keyboard is set to the default blue color and I simply want to disable it until KeyboardLED is much more developed. I cannot even turn it off let alone change colors.

    Do you have CC installed?
If not please check that there is no C:\Program Files (x86)\Hotkey folder.
If that folder exists delete it.

I did as you said and deleted the folder but nothing's happening.
At first it prevented me from deleting it saying "SvThANSP.sys" is open in another program. I searched for a fix in the forums and one user reported also deleting the registry value for same and restarting. But unfortunately it didn't fix it :(

Is that the only file there?
When you open any of our apps like Control Station or Keyboard LED didnt you get a prompt to install a needed dll?
Maybe some Antivirus software blocked that action.

    ...

Ok let´s start from there, i will add another debug tomorrow so you can tell me the device names that the app is picking up.

    And btw...

    Keyboad LED update to 0.0.4
    - Auto Dim option added
    - Brightness level correctly applied when Temp / Load based mode is selected

Yes, the only file. I did install the DLL and I'm sure my ESET NOD32 didn't block it. To be sure I deleted everything in LaptopTools folder and redownloaded and updated everything. But still nothing. Also, I checked clevomof.dll is in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" as well as in LaptopTools "installer" folder

The keyboard LED build doesn't seem to really have reliably functioning color pickers. I don't seem to be able to pick colors for the zones; the picker seems stuck on full-red in my case and the RGB input doesn't accept spaces to separate values (for explicit entry of colors).

I would say it's obvious I would not release it if the picker wasn't working.
The reason why it's not working on your case is something else we need to find out...
Are you using a scaled screen? Can you share a printscreen?

I didn't make the RGB box to be a paste solution, it was ment for copy the value... But yeah makes sense to be able to paste, I'll fix that...

If indeed you have an RGB keyboard then the only possible reason for it not working is the dll did not properly install.
Delete the dll from the windows syswow folder, reboot, disable antivirus, try again.
Check If fan control CPU temp is also being displayed, it uses the same method.

OK. So here's my experience so far:

    - Set the color for any zone.
    - Bring up the color picker for any other zone. It will display the color from the previously configured zone, not the one you brought up the picker for. This is confusing.
    - During the initial attempt to set colors, I think the color picker was confused by my attempt to type into the RGB field - it was probably that which was breaking things.

    - If I set colors for zones and then enable the colors based on temp/load, the zones don't seem to change.

For example, I set left zone to red, middle to white and right to green. Enabling the load/temp, the fixed zones don't seem to change.

Cool will test tomorrow as well. Appreciate you trying to get to the bottom of this.
Btw, why are there often two instances of KeyboardLed in the task manager?
Edit: also just me or in 0.0.4 the brightness at the max level is really dark?

And did it used to work with Control Center?

Yes, its one of the new Clevo 8th-gen laptops, the PA71ES-G with per-key RGB illumination. And it did work perfectly fine with Control Center 2.0 (every keyboard effect, per key control, backlight brightness, etc)

Got DPI set to 100% and the keyboard app is scaling badly:

Is it normal? i mean, desirable size for the app? Or is it scaling badly?

Full HD resolution by the way!

All other apps work normally in their latest version

There's a small resizing triangular thingy at the bottom right corner, you can use it to make it normal.

Hi John, I think that you should keep the dropdown menu with the preset colors option available, in addition to the custom color option. Some people may not wish to deal with looking up RGB codes. :)

John, I left some feedback some pages back... have you seen it?
Does my feedback helped, have you read it? If it did please click the like button, at least this way I know that it did or that you read it at least... if not I think I will stop giving feedback and only write if I encounter bugs

And all feedback is good, at the moment I'm just trying to get all apps to a stable first release so new features might take a while.
Stuff that is easy to implement I usually add them right away tough...
I'll spend most of today working based on all the feedback I got from you guys ;)

I will also add the drop down option.

Scalling will be something I will do after all is stable, I'm getting a 4K screen for that.

There is already a dim option.

Brightness does indeed go up to 100%.

I'll add a time schedule option, that should be easy

After wakeup it should set correct brightness in latest version, I'll test it out again.

I can't use FN keys at the moment sorry, I would need help from CLEVO to know how to use the FN, not sure I'm going to get it from them...

I can allow you to setup media keys but that's probably better for Control Station which already includes the disable windows key option

    KeyboardLED updated to 0.0.5

-Now using a correct window height on first launch and aligning window in the center of the screen
-When clicking the edit RGB color it will now open with current selected color for that zone
-Temp/Load Reactive colors will not change the selected 3 Zones Fixed colors
-Label for Color Picker zone on top will tell you which zone you are editing
-Auto Dim now correctly starts on app launch
-Added a quick color selection dropdown for basic color selection

I love the color based on temp/load option. Its fun to watch it change as i play.

On problem. I have it on dim after 1 minute. That worked at first. woke up last night to see a blue glow coming from my keyboard. so it came back on and stayed on for some reason. turned it off with Fn+F2 then, it would not come back on when i hit keys in the morning. i had to manually turn up the brightness level.

I just downloaded the new PC-Updater but unfortunately it seems that I cannot activate it the "old" code I already had from the previous one. So do I have to purchase it again?

That feature probably needs more testing.
During the night your laptop did not enter in sleep mode right?

Correct. It just turns off the screen after 10 minutes of no use. Either that, or i use Fn+F2 before bed.

Is it possible to intermix the reactive and fixed configurations, for example to make only one zone reactive?

It looks like the case LED on my P750DM2G isn't yet supported by the tool, but I'd like to make that one reactive and have the keyboard fixed.

I find it's strange that the keyboard light on the laptop is turned on whenever I typed on the external keyboard

Then you should copy your license file to the C:\Program Files\LaptopTools
Let me know if you have any trouble doing so.

Yeap you should not use CC if you are using Control Station / Keyboard LED
Also on reboot it will always default to stock color (Blue on older models, Rainbow on new models), until KeyboardLED starts and applies your setting.

I have no way to differentiate the Laptop Keyboard and a USB plugged keyboard, i don´t think the Windows API is capable of that.
