cannot use the exe file, windows 10 really doesnt want to extract the exe files. Is there any zip version?

What you mean with "extract", you just need to double click it.
Here is a zip version: http://obsidian-pc.com/LaptopToolsFull.zip
All contents go to C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\

Yeah but when it starts extracting the files into laptoptools it flatout refuses to put the .exe files in, idk why. Manually doing it with the zip file works flawlessly.

    Also I have a suggestion! :)

Could you do a random mode with the LED keyboard, only that it doesn't instantly change colors but does the "breathe" effect? You can name it "random breathe". Would be awesome! =D

I find that I often have to kill Fan Control and open fancontrol.ini and delete the WindowGeometry entry because the Fan Control UI is like twice as big as my monitor's resolution. I think it's because I go between multiple monitors, ex. when I watch TV I connect by 4K TV with a 200% UI scale and the apps size gets adjusted for that while it's running, and then I turn the PC off when I go to bed and start it up I plug in my 1440p monitor with 100% UI scale. When I open the program it's ginormous.
Hoping you can find a way to prevent this from happening, or maybe a key I can press while the UI is up to reset the geometry.

Does your laptop have Intel HD graphics?
If so that´s when the NVIDIA activates. If you can switch your Graphics mode to DISCRETE (in the BIOS) then try it, and that issue should have gone away.
That´s not in any way cause by any of our software, that´s just Optimus for you.

    EDIT:

    Fan Control updated to 1.2.4
    ----------------------------------------------

    What´s new:

Fixed a bug where Max Fan Speed would not turn max fan speed for GPU fan if the GPU was disabled (optimus).

I will try to switch to DISCRETE. Btw does it means after switching to DISCRETE, it will always use Nvidia graphics card for all the apps?

    Yes.
But as i said, that is only possible in laptops with MSHYBRID / DISCRETE switch.
And btw if you have a G-SYNC LCD the G-SYNC only works on DISCRETE mode.

If you open up Fan Control, your UUID should be displayed next to the purchase option. You can use the number that is displayed in FC for the Updater as well.

So @John@OBSIDIAN-PC I found that sometimes after long periods of time with the PC being open, control station I guess gets a memory leak? This is like, 8 days up. It was using 500MB of RAM and when I closed it, it simply increased RAM usage. I watched it for 10 minutes before forcing it closed (it had climbed up to 750MB). Restarting it seemed to work ok, but then fan control would not update. The installer would just get stuck updating. I ended all processes I could find related to that, but nada. It just would not.

Rebooting the PC fixed this, as I expected it would, and I don't really have a way to reproduce this other than leaving the PC on uptime for a week+ again and seeing if something similar happens. But maybe you can find something in the code. I usually don't reboot my PC if I have to, and I have it set up to never get slowdown/performance loss if I don't reboot, so I notice things like this. It was one of my problems with CCC too, it would shut itself down after about 3 days.

I actually have mine on for more then 3 weeks. I will check it next Monday to see how it is holding.
I'm now back to code and Control Station and KeyboardLED are the ones who still need more work.
Expect a lot of updates soon ;)

    Hi John,
Is the fancontrol transferable to another laptop? I might sell mine, however i would keep the software for my second laptop.
    Thx

    Superb application, thank you! Bought.

One question here - I own CLEVO P870TM-G, and there are LED-s on the laptop cover - yet there is no option to control them from the app, like in Clevo's control center.

    ...Or am I missing something?

It is per unit as John has said in the past. If I were you, I'd sell your laptop with an additional feature of the fan control being included upon purchase - unique to that UUID. For your second laptop, I would try to get in on the promo discount before the 20 coupons are gone, since half price is never a bad price.

Btw, the pre-sale discount and promotion coupon stack so half off the normal price for Fan Control :)
PS. I noticed that in your sig you don't have the two laptops for sale linked to their respective Marketplace threads, so I'd suggest adding that to attract more potential buyers in addition to bumping the threads to keep it within the purview of the forum.

Not sure, by default fan control "Internal Engine" DOES NOT use anything from hardware monitor, none, you can even delete it.
When you select OHM as your engine it will use the values that OHM and maybe LibreHM report to the Windows WMI, the only thing i am not sure is if Libre Office actually reports values to Windows WMI, and if it does i do not know if they use the same data structure and names. You can just test it yourself :D

    Thanks :D
I´m working as we speak on a update for Control Station, and then i should be able to work on Keyboard LED.

    Sounds great! =D
Well Always gotta support something good! :D

The fan control is a step towards Clevo being actually recommendable. Once the speaker drivers have been fixed and the cooling been overhauled with vapor chamber on the CPU and a modded steelseries keyboard, we would finally have recommendable Clevo notebooks.

I'm really sad that Xotic doesn't offer the modded keyboard for clevos anymore :(

I noticed the control station is now opening like this for me, and after rebooting / closing and trying to resize I cannot correct it.

When another user reported the same issue a few pages back, John replied:

Please try resizing the window, you can resize by click/dragging from the bottom right corner.

If that does not work go to C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\Settings\ and delete ControlStation.ini

Unfortunately the bottom right hand corner of the window is not accessible. So I cannot resize it.

In all honesty there is no reason to allow the application to grow in size like that because theres so much space not being utilized as any of the programs do not have a real “responsive” UI.

It would be much cleaner if the windows had a min/max set on resizing the window. It’s actually standard within the industry to add these constraints.

Try this, with the app up, hit <Alt>+<Space> and then 'S' for Size.

Next, type the UP arrow on your keyboard. This should stick the mouse cursor on the top edge of the app. Once stuck, move the mouse down quite some distance to resize it. Once you get a more manageable size, click the mouse.

You can do the same steps ( app has focus, type <Alt> + <Space>, then 'S'. This time type the LEFT arrow, and resize the app using the mouse.

Do this a number of times until the app sizes nicely in your view.

My method is quite simple - move the CS window beyond the view of your screen/desktop and once it is sufficiently hidden at the top (partially off-screen), then you should see and have access to the resize button.

    Hi guys,
    I can use some help.
I bought a PA71ES and purchased the updater tool.

    * The keyboard LED is set to white, but after reboot they are blue. I need to switch backlight off and on and then they are white again (as set in the tool).
    * When updating the latest chipset drivers my mouse from touchpad isn't working anymore (usb mouse is). Need to do system restore to got it working back. Tried doing a fresh Windows (prof) install, clean Windows, install chipset, mouse is gone...
    * Often the screen brightness is not working through the FN keys
    * Sound volume is set back to 0 after reboot (boot volume isn't checked in the tool!). Also when I plug in headphone it is set back to 0, after unplugging headphone it's again setback to 0.
    *

    To be sure:
This al happens after a fresh Windows installation (Windows 10 prof OEM original key).

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
    Any help would be appriciated.

    Greets

    Jeroen (Netherlands)

    Not all of them, but

    * KeyboardLED app is not working for me at ALL! The moment I uninstall CCC my keyboard LEDs are stuck in blue and I can't even turn it off. I'm currently waiting until John finishes developing Control Center and KeyboardLED completely to troubleshoot.
    * I do not have a touchpad problem. Maybe you could try re-installing the touchpad drivers? I'm not sure.
    * Don't have a screen brightness control problem
    * Volume is set to 0 for me as well when switching back and forth from speakers to headphones but I don't really mind it though I can understand how its annoying for most people.

BTW, I also have a fresh Win10Pro install and I manually downloaded my drivers from OEM websites and some from Clevo's.

I really do not like constrain at this stage because the app will probably get bigger or with adaptable size according to section (future features)...
You can literally drag the app by click and hold in any of the background area! So just drag it up until you can see the resize.
Also the reason why some of that happens is because windows sucks at scaling, there´s a "special" scaling function that i made and i´m constantly adjusting to prevent Windows from screwing the app, unfortunately jumping from different resolution/dpi values might have that effect.
When the layout is locked at it´s final sizes i will be able to fix that.

    - About the keyboard issue, do you have CLEVO Control Center installed? If so then that´s what causing the keyboard colors to switch.
    - YOU DO NOT need to do a system restore after installing chipset, you just needed to re-install the touchpad driver - click "Force Enable" and install Touchpad.... that´s happening because i messed up on the chipset driver, i just fixed it, you can now install chipset and touchpad will still work!
PS* Thanks for reporting the problem ;)
    - I actually have a PA71ES in the desk because of that sound bug, it seems Realtek Audio behaves a bit different in this model, that´s what i´m checking atm and fixing! Thanks for reporting!

    Updater was updated to 2.1.5
    --------------------------------------------

    What´s new:

Fixed no touchpad after Intel Chipset install
Added silent ME install after Chipset
Changed chain order for Chipset/Touchpad/ME install
Changed font color for settings tab
Fixed a bug where change log was not being shown after update

    =========================================================

The next updated Control Station should be out soon, it´s taking a bit longer because of the Power Modes:

That´s really odd, since we ship all our PA71 with the software, it´s working perfectly.
I really have no idea what might be causing your problem, would need some debug.
After the next Control Station update i think we can check that out and sort it.

So you have KeyboardLED installed and starting with Windows right?
You have it enabled and you set a color for Single Color zone, you select white and apply it.
You reboot and it boots in blue and does not change to white?
Is that it? Because I can't reproduce that.
What about other modes? Like the 3 zones color?

Is the Updater link down? I didn't want to install the entire package, just the Updater. (I own a license)

KeyboardLED saves my settings, and restores them on reboot every time.

Install the full package and then delete whatever .exe files you dont want to use... is that simple.
Shared files are pretty much the same so it makes no difference.
We do not add anything extra in the installer, no registry, temp files, hidden files, NOTHING.

    Fan Control Updated to 1.2.6:
Added the ability to receive Profile change from Control Station Power Profiles
Fixed a small UI freeze on Shared Memory Update function

Keyboard LED - Small Update to 1.2.6:
Added the ability to receive Brightness change from Control Station Power Profiles
Fixed Settings load and applying the color (no more crazy flashing)
    Fixed other small bugs

Control Station update coming soon ;)

To the user who is selling our BIOS and full access to our software:
Yeah you know who you are... i have no problem in bricking the EC on any unit who uses your stolen BIOS.... I´m gonna think about a proper punishment for both you and your clients. Have fun while it lasts. :D Muhahaha

Hi I bought yours Updater and Fan Control. My laptop is Clevo P670HP6-G from PC-SPECIALIST. Could you send me some BIOS with explanation how to do I it. How much does it cost. Is it worth to change the BIOS and does it give me any additional options? Is it safe?
