With Fan Control you will be in control of how the fans act!
And i mean full control... make your own modes, you have 4 user modes that you can tune to your usage scenario!
I did include "pre-made" values, but those should be seen as guide lines since each unit will need different tuning.

... subject, of course, to the proviso that if the temperatures get dangerously high, the fans will kick in to prevent the system from self destruction. Things like AV scan, search indexing, etc. can run unexpectedly and stress the laptop when you expect it to be idling, so this safety feature is very desirable.

Yeap the Security Tab allows you to define security values to trigger the max fans.
    This is indeed a must!

Big changes in the Updater today:

    Version 2.3.6

We have splitted all wifi models:
You now get from 7260 to 9560... we did this because the same wifi driver usually installs different driver versions according to the wifi model.
Updater should now be aware of each adapter latest version according to the package ... this was a lot of work but should end people reporting wrong versions.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SELECTED WIFI VERSION

We added a warning for when you get the Intel ME driver state error (usually reports 0.0.0.1 as the installed version). This actually seems to be a BIOS thing, and the only way we found that usually solves this is Loading BIOS Setup defaults, for this reason we added a warning when updating Chipset or IME.

Chipset no longer replies on the CSVer.dll that some packages use and others dont.
We can now push both Intel Chipset packages or Windows update packages using DPInst.
The "Installed Version" is now based on the actual chipset familiy controller reported in the device manager. Since windows pushes these you wont need to update chipset that often (actually you never had to), chipset is there mostly for users who have just installed windows.
From now on you wont see as many Chipset updates or chances are you will be "AHEAD", **THIS is better and safer**, since as reported many times before, there is NO POINT in updating the chipset driver (it works mostly as an hardware identifier and not an actual driver).

    Please report bugs as always!

Hello, John! Thanks for the update on Wi-Fi. Any progress on audio driver issue with Sound Blaster Connect? Or is it still just me, that it doesn't see the audio output with the latest drivers, when you use this new Realtek Audio Console.

I was under the impression that was fixed a long time ago.
If you use the same Audio driver and SBX that the Updater is using then it should all work.
Can you tell me your Laptop model so i can test?
    Thanks

I have the same issue as well, the latest Audio driver stops Sound Blaster from working, same message that it doesn't see/detect the audio output. I'm on a P775TM1

I know this got added five months ago to the list for implementation, but it still hasn't been and I'd like to reiterate that it would be a beneficial feature to include as the Updater app continues to get updated. Thank you!

I actually added the ignore checkbox today
But I'm also adding more stuff so the Update should roll out tomorrow or after.

-Added ignore checkbox on all drivers
-Added new Storage tab with: RST / Samsung NVME driver / Optane driver. Any other suggestions?
    -Improving some UI stuff also

Tested P751TM with the Updater Sound and SBX drivers and it's working fine here.
Did a clean Windows install, updated Windows to latest build, installed all drivers without any problem.

Don't know what to say then, maybe despite both laptop models being similar, this could be a specific P775TM1 issue. My P775TM1 is from yourselves, Obsidian, and since owning the laptop I haven't needed to reinstall any drivers and I've only updated drivers (apart from nvidia vga drivers) from Updater exclusively. I've tested updating just the audio driver and not SBX (same issue), updating just SBX and not the audio driver (no issue) and updating both the audio driver and SBX (same issue), so whatever is causing the issue has to do with the latest audio driver.

Hummmmm and you are sure you have both the latest BIOS and all Windows updates?
The only thing I can think off is the latest BIOS (for 9th gen)... We have not pushed that and this unit does have it.
I'll do some more testing tomorrow.

Maybe someone here can fill me in, what is the benefit of installing SBX? Do I need it in addition to the Realtek drivers / what does it add? To this point I have just ignored it and installed Realtek.
    Model is in my sig.

SBX stuff: Need it - no. Want it - yes (in my case, at least). The buttons to tweak the audio settings for games, music and movies - I find them quite useful.

Perhaps you should send John@OBSIDIAN-PC (via PM) a list of the software installed on your system, especially stuff related to sound. It is quite possible that some other software has installed a driver that is messing things up. ASIO, external sound card/ audio interface for instance, or something similar. You might need to uninstall it, then update the drivers and then reinstall that software.

My unit runs the latest Windows and 1.05.11 on BIOS. I tried reinstalling both things and still haven't got luck with that. I'm also uninstalling other stuff, such as Host OpenAL and Creative ALchemy.
I don't remember, so I'll try that on the weekend. BTW, I don't think you metioned, but I was asking about HID filter as well some time ago. It also disappeared from your software. Is it related to not installing correctly?

Humm ok so let´s try to figure audio first.
At the moment there is 3 Audio drivers provided by clevo:
    6.0.1.8254
    6.0.1.8279
    6.0.1.8509

Updater is using 6.0.1.8509 so with this driver installed please do the following:

    - Uninstall any Creative / SBX software
    - Reboot
    - Installed the SBX i just uploaded (using Updater), it´s downgraded to 2.1.5.0 (even tough i dont think that´s the problem).

Please tell me if that works.

I've tried using the latest audio driver from Clevo website and same issue.

Have done what you said updated audio driver and uninstalled, rebooted and installed SBX and the message on SBX that it couldn't detect the audio output is gone, but there appears to be another issue now, switching between the audio profiles or changing any of the audio settings on SBX has no effect now

Well if the SBX is not detecting the Audio device it won´t work at all, no matter what you change.
The SBX support is one of the most messy things i ever seen in my adult life...
Like it wasn´t enough that SBX totally sucks, it is also always having issues with the audio driver.
Let me see what i can do.

Thank you John for all the work you're putting into this for us. If you are able to hack it so that both the latest versions can work that would be amazing.
Saying that, I don't want you to feel obligated to do this, if it's going to be too much hassle it's not really a problem for me, it just means I don't update to the latest audio driver.

    Already done...
Running my P775DM3 with new realtek and any SBX
Will release this with next Updater release.
I just finished moving to a new house and my office room is ready, maybe I'll test it by finishing new Updater, new features took me 20h+ of codding and counting.

I'm also adding a "report broken driver" option which will direct users to a form in our website.

This will be a BIG update :)

Tried to run this (I'm pretty sure I have it but it said None Detected), and the installer just gets stuck on Starting Setup:
    upload_2019-1-19_20-20-20.png

In the driver download folder I can see it's a 1kb 7zip file, not sure if that's the reason, but I can't open it so it seems corrupted

    upload_2019-1-19_20-23-53.png

EDIT: The contents of the file is a 404 to a different driver :D

This might be nothing, but I can't tell with the odd spacing at the bottom if something is missing between and/or after NVIDIA VGA and Fingerprint:

Automatic startup stopped working again for Control Station and KBLeD... :( And at the same time, the keyboard backlight control stopped working. I do not even know what to blame - Windows, updates, or the moon in the wrong phase ...

At least click "Programs -> Program and Features, check into "View installed updates". Look on the date and see if Microsoft have been into your machine around same time/date

John the ability to (MUX) switch between iGPU and dGPU would be handy at the moment..

Ok it's been a while, does the new fan control have a function similar to the fan tables? So I can control all 3 fans on a combination of CPU and GPU temps?

Oh I can't wait. I've been using the old one because without the tables it's little different from just using max fans, but I really want to get rid of the DPC Latency. I'm excited!
