I know this is a stretch, but is there any way you could make the keyboard LED application compatible as a Razer Chroma App? I tried using Aurora, and it gave me nothing but problems.

You mean the Keyboard LED reacting to stuff? Because if so, as it stands, everytime you change the color you get a latency spike in the system (that´s why i removed the React to Temperature or Load feature).
Unless i manage to make the led changes with the same method as i use for the fan control, and looking how CLEVO supports my stuff (ZERO) it´s going to be a hard job... -
There is currently no way for a user who uninstalled CCC and subsequently reinstalled it to be able to access the Updater driver for it. Once you uninstall it, Updater detects that there is no CCC and replaces it, however, it does not detect if you reinstall it. This is a problem for those of us who need it later on for function keys or for switching GPU's.

The only thing that we keep is the "Disable CCC Hotkey filters" in Control Station - Windows Tuning tab, to at least try to minimize the damage.
I can´t focus my work on clean, low resources, low DPC and then even consider CCC running in the same unit, it adds a lot of stuff that i would need to consider and circumvent.
With CLEVO support, or at least some big resellers backing this software i´m sure i could get the necessary information to make everything work and much more, unfortunately there is no big reseller backing us up.
I dont always share all the details but so that you know, there is stuff that with some help i would do in less then 10 minutes AND without instructions it takes months, ill give you some examples:
- Fixing brightness in Switchable Graphics - It was months to fix
- Direct EC communication to avoid DPC - more months
- Decoding the RGB Led stuff - and more months
Missing stuff that should be easy:
- Adding support for remaining Hotkeys
- Adding the Switch for DISCRETE / MSHYBRID
- Adding P870 Lid LED control
- Making KBLED talk directly to EC like Fan Control
I´m working and polishing everything, but at the moment it´s just me, so some stuff might take a while to do! -
In the same way some of these resellers are part of the Prema Partner Network, invite @John@OBSIDIAN-PC into similar dealings. Clearly, his work speaks for itself! The immense value added service(s) gained from partnering with him is legit the best way to get both ends met: Your sale preferences being diversified, and to offer proper backing for this project.
Recall that for years , Obsidian PC has offered this service for free, at their own cost. Switching to a paid model is a move many users here welcome open-heartedly, as its' the only way the project could remain sustainable.Development and hosting costs, as expected, are significant for a project of this scale.Last edited: Jan 27, 2019iron85, joluke, anytimer and 1 other person like this. -

To be honest I don't like the user paying method.
I would rather have the resellers paying and dealing with clients, that's it.
The current method means that I have to end up dealing with the end client, and 80% of the time I get emails for stuff that is not related to software. It's just too time consuming.
The app sales are not enough for the costs that's for sure... But I won't stop development even if I have to do it part-time at home.
Resellers can bring help by taking the user support, making this free for their users and maybe even getting me Clevo R&D info.
There's other tools made that resellers can use like windows bios updaters and such, I won't supply bios but I made numerous tools to simplify the process.
I just don't won't this project to become a burden instead of a fun thing to do. I really like doing this, but wasted time dealing with support and the development costs are not fun at all.

Had a bizarre experience with the latest Microsoft updates, and wanted to post the details in the hopes that it might help anyone else similarly affected.
I have Control Station, Fan Control and Keyboard LED apps all set to "start app with Windows". After installing KB4476976 and KB4481031 on 1/23 through Windows Update, Control Station continued to start properly, but neither Fan Control nor Keyboard LED would launch automatically after I had logged into my laptop. Both could be manually launched successfully, but none of the dozen tweaks I attempted would allow either to auto-launch on logon.
It wasn't until this morning that I connected the installation of the updates with the timing of the failed application launches. I first uninstalled KB4481031, but there was no change. I then uninstalled KB4476976, and both Fan Control and Keyboard LED auto-launched as configured again. As you can see in the snip, I then re-installed KB4481031 manually (downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog website), and both apps launched successfully. Finally, I re-installed KB4476976 manually (also downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog website), and both apps continue to launch successfully.
I have no idea what happened with the Windows Update installs on 1/23 that would have affected these two apps, nor do I know why the manual re-installs didn't have the same problematic results. I'm just glad that everything is working properly again. As I said... Bizarre.joluke likes this. -

When that happens try unchecking the start with windows option and re-check it.

Trust me, I tried that many, many times over two days of troubleshooting. I found the registry entries, deleted and recreated them both via the check boxes in the apps and manually. I tried adding quotation marks around the paths in the Registry to match other unaffected entries. I deleted all four apps, deleted the folders they installed into, deleted the ClevoService service, and then re-installed everything. I also tried creating manual Tasks to delay start them, all to no avail. I tried adding them to the Startup folder, but that failed to launch them as well. Nothing was being recorded in any Event logs, so I couldn't find what was preventing them from starting. I checked my AV (Kaspersky) and tried adding exclusions for the executable files, and eventually the entire installation folders. I tried changing the executable files to always run as an Administrator. Absolutely nothing worked. As noted in my last post, the only solution ended up being the uninstall and re-install of KB4476976. That finally resolved the issue, and the apps are all launching automatically after logon now. -

Each app settings is stored inside a folder called Laptop Tools which can be found in the user documents.
Maybe the settings got corrupted with wrong window geometry?

By filling in that form.
I'm seeing some changes with how they'll be handling drivers, eg for Synaptics that may be of concern to you:

Some of the major headaches, eg:
Having this project backed up by major re-sellers would also send Clevo a strong message as to why its' ever needed: The bottom line being sales, guaranteed by better support for existing product lines.

Hello,
my laptop is a Clevo P950HP6 (marketed by Avell in my country) I am thinking of buying the licenses for Obsidian software, could you help me to clarify some doubts?
Do you need to uninstall Clevo Control Center to install Obsidian Control Station, Obsidian update and Fan Control?
Is there a way to update Bios with just one Click, even if my reseller does not have a partnership with Obsidian? (I mean, put the files in some folder, something like that)? -
John@OBSIDIAN-PC Company Representative
To use the updater only there is no need to remove Clevo Control Center.
To use everything (Control Station / Fan Control / Keyboard LED) you need to remove CLEVO Control Center.
We only provide BIOS Flashing tools, not the actual BIOS. Our BIOS are for our laptops only. I guess you need to get the BIOS from your reseller or just search from a stock CLEVO BIOS. -
[QUOTE = "João @ OBSIDIAN-PC, post: 10855950, membro: 421691"] Olá
[/ QUOTE]
I already have the bios for my equipment.
I just need the instructions to upgrade.
Can the "BIOS Flashing tools" tool also be purchased? or is it part of the software? -
I am upgrading the bios of my P950HP6 device which is in version 1.05.07 for bios version 1.05.14. and EC 1.05.09.
Is there an order, between Bios (FLASH.nsh) and EC (FLASH.nsh), which one should I run first? -

I'm going to read this Clevo BIOS Topic Thread -
Hi, I just did a clean install on my P170SM-A and found out about this awesome Updater software.
Everything seems to be working fine, even though I let Windows install all the drivers by itself.
Does the soft can provide me anything good that is worth the price ? Will it makes a difference ? -
John@OBSIDIAN-PC Company Representative
The Updater does not really have P170SM-A support, it was made way after that model was out of the market, i can try adding it but i would need a remote control session to check everything.joluke likes this. -
Very good piece of work. It's straight piracy for resellers to steal it and ship with their product or even recommend it! One thing when guy just suggest another to use as no matter how good suggestion is usually a reverse effect happens when guy is too pushy and people decide to stay safe from an "obsessed" with this idea. But when a company does that or someone gets a profit of it - that's worth despising behavior.
Also, I found a typo in "Please not that the One Click Install" where it should be note. -
-
Thanks for creating these tools! I downloaded them, but I haven't made the switch yet. I'm planning to uninstall Clevo Control Center, since it has conflicting errors with my touch pad driver(s). (Consequently, I almost always need to keep my touch pad off and use a wireless mouse.) I'm guessing the tools are safe to use with the Powerspec 1510 (since it's a Clevo P650HS-G)???
If I install the updater tool, should I just disable Windows updater? If yes, how do I do that? -
Edit: More to add later..Last edited: Feb 2, 2019 -

Hi @ John@OBSIDIAN-PC, looks like Fan Control is buggy again. Or maybe it's caused by Control Station I dunno as there's new update for Control Station. My P650RS-G laptop will keep cutting the power. I almost cannot do anything.

So I have had this problem for sometime now and I havent paid it much attention since everything else works very well.
The Keyboard LED software has not worked for me for a long time, and it appears to not be rendering its content correctly.
-

As for Control Station just check your Turbo boost power, is it maxed? Also check if you are not limiting the CPU in the Power Modes.
The update for Control Station is nothing special, just fixed a case where it would crash in case of no Audio device.joluke likes this. -

Are you using the individual installers?
If so try to re-install it.
If you are using the old method where everything was installed at C:\Program Files\LaptopTools\ then get rid of everything (uninstall or delete).
And use the individual installers which you can find by following my signature.
That will clean everything for you. -

Hi @John@OBSIDIAN-PC,
Thanks for spending a large chunk of time coding this application and providing support to those in need via these forum posts. Awesome work.
That said, it looks like the free NBD license you linked earlier in the thread no longer exists.
Is there still a free version of the utility available?
I purchased a Sager NP8657-S a while ago and their support has been utterly garbage in regards to updating their drivers and BIOS.
Any suggestions? (inb4 "Y U DUN BUY DA LICENSE HUR DUR")Last edited: Feb 7, 2019 -
I cant´t change brightness in windows 10. I test a alot of different Intel VGA drivers.
Does anyone have an idea what else i could try? -

Hey John, I'd like to know about KeyboardLED progress for per-key RGB keyboards. Any success with them, even basic backlight on-off function?
Ever since I uninstalled CCC, my keyboard has always stayed a blue color that I can't turn off. Its quite distracting at times. -

Open Control Station > Windows Tuning tab > "Apply brightness fix on start"
That´s it...
So that you guys know... i been silent about new features because i´m working on something like this:
@D2 Ultima i think you will like this
For the unified option you can simply set to "Sync fans to hotest device value" instead of all that manually tuning.
I know it looks complicated but it is not, it´s just an extra settings layer above the manual tuning, which you can use, or not!optimisez, iron85, cj_miranda23 and 2 others like this. -

John@OBSIDIAN-PC: Would be possible to add support for XMG U716 / Clevo P775DM1(-G) to the Updater (and Obsidian update tool)? Or is it too old machine?
Thank you

It seems that the Updater is currently unaware of several newer "Others" driver versions:
